Cross Talk host interrupts too much. I left. It is silly & rude to invite interviewees on, then not listen to them.

China is involved in territorial disputes with nearly all of its neighbors. China is building a blue water navy including nuclear-powered submarines of its own. While Joe Lauria sounds like he is ready to surrender. Does anyone else plan to join Joe?

Wake me up when Chinese nuclear-powered submarines or their warships are showing up in East or west coast doing freedom of navigation stunts, or, when their drones are bombing civilians of other countries without impunity.

Actually China has some really minor territorial disputes with their nearest neighbors. There is little chance of military conflicts with the Philipines, Viet nam, and Indonesia in the South China Sea. These problems will be dealt with through negotiation with relevant nations. The important point is that the US should not insert itself into these differences. All parties know that the US will try to insert itself into these disputes and try to turn them into major issues of international war.

Then there is the border with India. That can, and should be, resolved between India and China. There is absolutely no US interest in how China and India solve a border dispute that resulted from imperial Britain trying to draw lines on the map between their colony in India in the 19th century and a terribly weakened China that was partially colonized by multiple European nations.

China is not an aggressor in any of these disputes, they have legitimate claims as do their neighboring countries– let them work them out through negotiation. The US most certainly has no legitimate claims in any of these disputes.
