I hope/request that the Australian Government takes note of Rudy Giuliani ‘s comment clearly establishing the freedom to publish information from any source and the Government takes the courage needed to support an Australian person in serious, false, legal difficulty.
It should demand the UK Government release Assange to return to Australia just like it has done with other falsely held Australian journalists in Egypt and others such as the Australian falsely convicted recently in Myanmar.
I trust that an incoming Federal Labour Government will respect the principle of a free and open media and bring Assange back to Australia

Gough Whitlam’s Attorney General was Lionel Murphy, not Lionel ‘Jospin’. Also, the CIA was heavily involved in the overthrow of the Whitlam government, as related in Falcon and the Snowman. Also John Pilger covers this chapter of Australian history more broadly, in his book A Secret Country (see chapter called ‘The Coup’).

I saw couple of the Online Vigil but to be frank with all that I have going I cannot sit there for an hour o so in as much as I would like. I’m finding it hard to keep up with emails and other sites of interest and I do it before going to bed. Is there or should I say can it be shorten to a readable time frame?

I wouldn’t expect anyone in the CIA to help. The CIA kills people, who can be found out, easily.
In a real democracy the public has a right to any information about THEIR government.

Julian Assange did with every journalist should be doing. He published the truth.
Continuing support for Assange is keeping the light of real truth and freedom alive in the world. He must not become the forgotten man.
I found news reports about the visit of (unfortunately only two) German members of parliament to Assange on Dec. 20. These are two prominent women members of the Left Party (Die Linke) in the Bundestag, who are active on foreign policy, and in the anti-war movement outside the parliament. After their visit (together with his father), they held a half-hour press conference outside the Ecuadorean embassy. Excellent idea for this and other issues. When Folks show up or speak up, the public needs to demonstrate appreciation and support. It is hard to keep going and keeping awareness high otherwise.
