Exclusive: Fifty-four years after President Kennedy’s assassination, the CIA and FBI demanded more time to decide what secrets to keep hiding – and a chastened President Trump bowed to their power, observes ex-CIA analyst Ray McGovern.
By Ray McGovern
It was summer 1963 when a senior official of CIA’s operations directorate treated our Junior Officer Trainee (JOT) class to an unbridled rant against President John F. Kennedy. He accused JFK, among other things, of rank cowardice in refusing to send U.S. armed forces to bail out Cuban rebels pinned down during the CIA-launched invasion at the Bay of Pigs, blowing the chance to drive Cuba’s Communist leader Fidel Castro from power.
It seemed beyond odd that a CIA official would voice such scathing criticism of a sitting President at a training course for those selected to be CIA’s future leaders. I remember thinking to myself, “This guy is unhinged; he would kill Kennedy, given the chance.”
Our special guest lecturer looked a lot like E. Howard Hunt, but more than a half-century later, I cannot be sure it was he. Our notes from such training/indoctrination were classified and kept under lock and key.
At the end of our JOT orientation, we budding Agency leaders had to make a basic choice between joining the directorate for substantive analysis or the operations directorate where case officers run spies and organize regime changes (in those days, we just called the process overthrowing governments).
I chose the analysis directorate and, once ensconced in the brand new headquarters building in Langley, Virginia, I found it strange that subway-style turnstiles prevented analysts from going to the “operations side of the house,” and vice versa. Truth be told, we were never one happy family.
I cannot speak for my fellow analysts in the early 1960s, but it never entered my mind that operatives on the other side of the turnstiles might be capable of assassinating a President – the very President whose challenge to do something for our country had brought many of us to Washington in the first place. But, barring the emergence of a courageous whistleblower-patriot like Daniel Ellsberg, Chelsea Manning or Edward Snowden, I do not expect to live long enough to learn precisely who orchestrated and carried out the assassination of JFK.
And yet, in a sense, those particulars seem less important than two main lessons learned: (1) If a President can face down intense domestic pressure from the power elite and turn toward peace with perceived foreign enemies, then anything is possible. The darkness of Kennedy’s murder should not obscure the light of that basic truth; and (2) There is ample evidence pointing to a state execution of a President willing to take huge risks for peace. While no post-Kennedy president can ignore that harsh reality, it remains possible that a future President with the vision and courage of JFK might beat the odds – particularly as the American Empire disintegrates and domestic discontent grows.
I do hope to be around next April after the 180-day extension for release of the remaining JFK documents. But – absent a gutsy whistleblower – I wouldn’t be surprised to see in April, a Washington Post banner headline much like the one that appeared Saturday: “JFK files: The promise of revelations derailed by CIA, FBI.”
The New Delay Is the Story
You might have thought that almost 54 years after Kennedy was murdered in the streets of Dallas – and after knowing for a quarter century the supposedly final deadline for releasing the JFK files – the CIA and FBI would not have needed a six-month extension to decide what secrets that they still must hide.
Journalist Caitlin Johnstone hits the nail on the head in pointing out that the biggest revelation from last week’s limited release of the JFK files is “the fact that the FBI and CIA still desperately need to keep secrets about something that happened 54 years ago.”
What was released on Oct. 26, was a tiny fraction of what had remained undisclosed in the National Archives. To find out why, one needs to have some appreciation of a 70-year-old American political tradition that might be called “fear of the spooks.”
That the CIA and FBI are still choosing what we should be allowed to see concerning who murdered John Kennedy may seem unusual, but there is hoary precedent for it. After JFK’s assassination on Nov. 22, 1963, the well-connected Allen Dulles, whom Kennedy had fired as CIA director after the Bay of Pigs fiasco, got himself appointed to the Warren Commission and took the lead in shaping the investigation of JFK’s murder.
By becoming de facto head of the Commission, Dulles was perfectly placed to protect himself and his associates, if any commissioners or investigators were tempted to question whether Dulles and the CIA played any role in killing Kennedy. When a few independent-minded journalists did succumb to that temptation, they were immediately branded – you guessed it – “conspiracy theorists.”
And so, the big question remains: Did Allen Dulles and other “cloak-and-dagger” CIA operatives have a hand in John Kennedy’s assassination and subsequent cover-up? In my view and the view of many more knowledgeable investigators, the best dissection of the evidence on the murder appears in James Douglass’s 2008 book, JFK and the Unspeakable: Why He Died and Why It Matters.
After updating and arraying the abundant evidence, and conducting still more interviews, Douglass concludes that the answer to the big question is Yes. Reading Douglass’s book today may help explain why so many records are still withheld from release, even in redacted form, and why, indeed, we may never see them in their entirety.
Truman: CIA a Frankenstein?
When Kennedy was assassinated, it must have occurred to former President Harry Truman, as it did to many others, that the disgraced Allen Dulles and his associates might have conspired to get rid of a President they felt was soft on Communism – and dismissive of the Deep State of that time. Not to mention their vengeful desire to retaliate for Kennedy’s response to the Bay of Pigs fiasco. (Firing Allen Dulles and other CIA paragons of the Deep State for that fiasco simply was not done.)
Exactly one month after John Kennedy was killed, the Washington Post published an op-ed by Harry Truman titled “Limit CIA Role to Intelligence.” The first sentence read, “I think it has become necessary to take another look at the purpose and operations of our Central Intelligence Agency.”
Strangely, the op-ed appeared only in the Post’s early edition on Dec. 22, 1963. It was excised from that day’s later editions and, despite being authored by the President who was responsible for setting up the CIA in 1947, the all-too-relevant op-ed was ignored in all other major media.
Truman clearly believed that the spy agency had lurched off in what Truman thought were troubling directions. He began his op-ed by underscoring “the original reason why I thought it necessary to organize this Agency … and what I expected it to do.” It would be “charged with the collection of all intelligence reports from every available source, and to have those reports reach me as President without Department ‘treatment’ or interpretations.”
Truman then moved quickly to one of the main things clearly bothering him. He wrote “the most important thing was to guard against the chance of intelligence being used to influence or to lead the President into unwise decisions.”
It was not difficult to see this as a reference to how one of the agency’s early directors, Allen Dulles, tried to trick President Kennedy into sending U.S. forces to rescue the group of invaders who had landed on the beach at the Bay of Pigs in April 1961 with no chance of success, absent the speedy commitment of U.S. air and ground support. The planned mouse-trapping of the then-novice President Kennedy had been underpinned by a rosy “analysis” showing how this pin-prick on the beach would lead to a popular uprising against Fidel Castro.
Wallowing in the Bay of Pigs
Arch-Establishment figure Allen Dulles was offended when young President Kennedy, on entering office, had the temerity to question the CIA’s Bay of Pigs plans, which had been set in motion under President Dwight Eisenhower. When Kennedy made it clear he would not approve the use of U.S. combat forces, Dulles set out, with supreme confidence, to give the President no choice except to send U.S. troops to the rescue.
Coffee-stained notes handwritten by Allen Dulles were discovered after his death and reported by historian Lucien S. Vandenbroucke. In his notes, Dulles explained that, “when the chips were down,” Kennedy would be forced by “the realities of the situation” to give whatever military support was necessary “rather than permit the enterprise to fail.”
The “enterprise” which Dulles said could not fail was, of course, the overthrow of Fidel Castro. After mounting several failed operations to assassinate Castro, this time Dulles meant to get his man, with little or no attention to how Castro’s patrons in Moscow might react eventually. (The next year, the Soviets agreed to install nuclear missiles in Cuba as a deterrent to future U.S. aggression, leading to the Cuban Missile Crisis).
In 1961, the reckless Joint Chiefs of Staff, whom then-Deputy Secretary of State George Ball later described as a “sewer of deceit,” relished any chance to confront the Soviet Union and give it, at least, a black eye. (One can still smell the odor from that sewer in many of the documents released last week.)
But Kennedy stuck to his guns, so to speak. A few months after the abortive invasion of Cuba — and his refusal to send the U.S. military to the rescue — Kennedy fired Dulles and his co-conspirators and told a friend that he wanted to “splinter the CIA into a thousand pieces and scatter it into the winds.” Clearly, the outrage was mutual.
When JFK and the Unspeakable: Why He Died and Why It Matters came out, the mainstream media had an allergic reaction and gave it almost no reviews. It is a safe bet, though, that Barack Obama was given a copy and that this might account in some degree for his continual deference – timorousness even – toward the CIA.
Could fear of the Deep State be largely why President Obama felt he had to leave the Cheney/Bush-anointed CIA torturers, kidnappers and black-prison wardens in place, instructing his first CIA chief, Leon Panetta, to become, in effect, the agency’s lawyer rather than take charge? Is this why Obama felt he could not fire his clumsily devious Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who had to apologize to Congress for giving “clearly erroneous” testimony under oath in March 2013? Does Obama’s fear account for his allowing then-National Security Agency Director Keith Alexander and counterparts in the FBI to continue to mislead the American people, even though the documents released by Edward Snowden showed them – as well as Clapper – to be lying about the government’s surveillance activities?
Is this why Obama fought tooth and nail to protect CIA Director John Brennan by trying to thwart publication of the comprehensive Senate Intelligence Committee investigation of CIA torture, which was based on original Agency cables, emails, and headquarters memos? [See here and here.]
The Deep State Today
Many Americans cling to a comforting conviction that the Deep State is a fiction, at least in a “democracy” like the United States. References to the enduring powers of the security agencies and other key bureaucracies have been essentially banned by the mainstream media, which many other suspicious Americans have come to see as just one more appendage of the Deep State.
But occasionally the reality of how power works pokes through in some unguarded remark by a Washington insider, someone like Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-New York, the Senate Minority Leader with 36 years of experience in Congress. As Senate Minority Leader, he also is an ex officio member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, which is supposed to oversee the intelligence agencies.
During a Jan. 3, 2017 interview with MSNBC’S Rachel Maddow, Schumer told Maddow nonchalantly about the dangers awaiting President-elect Donald Trump if he kept on “taking on the intelligence community.” She and Schumer were discussing Trump’s sharp tweeting regarding U.S. intelligence and evidence of “Russian hacking” (which both Schumer and Maddow treat as flat fact).
Schumer said: “Let me tell you, you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you. So even for a practical, supposedly hard-nosed businessman, he’s being really dumb to do this.”
Three days after that interview, President Obama’s intelligence chiefs released a nearly evidence-free “assessment” claiming that the Kremlin engaged in a covert operation to put Trump into office, fueling a “scandal” that has hobbled Trump’s presidency. On Monday, Russia-gate special prosecutor Robert Mueller indicted Trump’s one-time campaign manager Paul Manafort on unrelated money laundering, tax and foreign lobbying charges, apparently in the hope that Manafort will provide incriminating evidence against Trump.
So, President Trump has been in office long enough to have learned how the game is played and the “six ways from Sunday” that the intelligence community has for “getting back at you.” He appears to be as intimidated as was President Obama.
Trump’s awkward acquiescence in the Deep State’s last-minute foot-dragging regarding release of the JFK files is simply the most recent sign that he, too, is under the thumb of what the Soviets used to call “the organs of state security.”
Ray McGovern works with the ecumenical Church of the Saviour in inner-city Washington. During his 27-year career at CIA, he prepared the President’s Daily Brief for Nixon, Ford, and Reagan, and conducted the one-on-one morning briefings from 1981 to 1985. He is co-founder of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS).
Great article. As someone who has read a half dozen books on the JFK assassination and who follows researchers, this is a good summary. JFK’s public execution was an extra-constitutional regime change, because key leaders within the military, intelligence, and key corporate/industry partners concluded that JFK was a “clear and present danger” to the USA national interest (as they saw it), which was deemed to fight the Cold War with a virulent anti-communism including going to war with Cuba and/or the USSR. Cuba is the key to unraveling this. As the author points out, CIA/military had been seeking to overthrow Castro for years and JFK blocked them at every turn, and when he died, he was actively communicating with Khruschev and Castro and was moving towards peace and disarmament. From an operational standpoint, the “Big Event” (as E. Howard Hunt referred to it with his death bed confession) was incredibly well planned, thorough, and continues today (the cover story and cover up). It was a reversal of an already existing plan to assassinate Castro while riding in an open jeep, instead turning it around to the leader who was blocking all the war plans, then blame it on our enemies, using his murder as a pretext for war (option 1 for LBJ, he chose option 2 – lone nut assassin, but “gave them their damn war” in Viet Nam). As the author says, this will never be “proven” and this history is never likely to be told in any of our lifetimes – perhaps for our grandchildren. I would refer folks to a great 2009 talk by author James Douglass that is quite hopeful and moving. It lays out the “Why He Died and Why it matters” story. For a nice “Red Team” overview of how operationally the execution took place, review the Combat Reform, 4th tactical studies group – they created a long powerpoint after reverse engineering the effort using standard military and intelligence operational techniques. http://jfkcountercoup2.blogspot.com/2017/07/jim-douglas-and-unspeakable-at-dealey.html http://www.combatreform.org/THEJFKRESEARCHSITE/
Or it could be a matter of him having negotiated with them so that they would stop harassing him with the Russia gate charade in exchange for him letting them off the hook in relation to the release of the Kennedy files. He is, after all, supposed to be the master of the art of deal. Why else would he have, out of the blue, sought to revive the Kennedy files issue, other than to use as leverage to get them to leave him alone and stop harassing him with the Russia gate issue?
I have read Douglas’s excellent book but he doesn’t ask many outstanding questions.
Quote:
‘She noticed a man getting out of a station wagon parked below the Grassy Knoll and that this man was carrying what appeared to be a concealed rifle as he proceeded to walk up to the stockade-fence area. Out of curiosity, Mercer then rolled her car alongside the parked vehicle and took a look at the driver squarely in the face. It was Jack Ruby. ‘
Would any assassin plotter ever do that at the proposed site?
Shots from the grassy knoll? No one has ever pointed out that any shot from there would have hit Kennedy at the right hand side of his head/neck as the trajectory would be at right angles to the car. Perhaps all those shots missed but where did the bullets land up?
Also someone, I can’t remember who, found something important, can’t remember what now, by the side if the road a day or two later! No one official or otherwise never looked around? Douglas makes no comment about these points.
The MIC (Military Industrial Complex) needs to be renamed MIMIC: the Military Industrial Media Intelligence Complex!
If only he had prevailed: https://canadianviews-ymo.ca/kennedys-intrepid-spirit/
Oh what fun we have picking over the JFK bones, and no matter how many times we roll en over, disassemble looking for any trace (s) of meat, and finding none we reassemble,; they will remain no more bones.
I read over every comment, and found far more in them than this establishments’ author put forth.
Final analasys, IMHO:
Somebody(ies) shot JFK and they did it with figures in and out of formal gov channels, some were the channels for sure.
What actually more do we need to know our nation is being led back then and today by individuals who are not necessarily bloody bastards, but with calm detachment would shoot you in back of head if they felt the need, and then later smile as they screwed your wife and kids.
Nothing personal.
Nothing of patriotism other than loyalty of opportunity with their fellows.
Time of Kennedy papers being held, at least some were released, where as Henry Kissingers papers are held topmost secret clearance until. May it soon happen gridly, he dies.
He’ll Georhi dumb as a th ox placed top secret upon documents 10 years back with no release date upon them, and some of the selected data had been out in public domain for years.
The minutiae pickers love this conspiracy, they have been picking for years; but they no more about the actuality today than when they began.
Plain truth is if any of the actors are still living and they stood up and said I did it. By the time media and popular b’s of internet chaos, the damn guy would go unpunished and unbelievers by many till he F’n died.
Just accept that you are no different than if watching a movie, just stay out of their line of fire.
I DON T UNDERSTAND WHY EVERYBODY PUTS SHUMER DOWN FOR HIS STATEMENT WHICH IS AS TRUE AS CAN BE. BUT IT IS ALWAYS BEING TREATED AS A LIE. BY ALL. SIX WAYS FROM SUNDAY AIN’T THE HALF OF IT. MURDER IS THE WHOLE OF IT OF WHICH SHUMER FORGOT. AND MR MC GOVERN YOU SAID ON CROSS TALK VERY BOLDLY “”IMPEACH TRUMP”” DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHO IS SITTING IN THE CHAIR DIRECTLY BEHIND TRUMP? THE WORST CHRISTAIN DISPENSATIONALIST ZIONIST ISRAELI FIRSTER AND WALL STREET WARMONGER THERE IS. HE WAS PUT THERE AS INSURANCE FOR THE ZIONIST CABAL OF ELECTING TRUMP .THERE WAS NO RUSSIAN INTERVENTION IN THE ELECTION OF TRUMP JUST THE WORST CABAL EVER THE ZIONIST ISRAELI ROTHCHILD AGENDA CRIMINALS . I HAVE TO LAUGH WHEN I HEAR THESE HYENAS HOWL AT THE MOON OVER RUSISAN FOREIGN INTERVENTION ,COMPLETELY IGNORANT OR PURPOSELY OVERLOOKING THE GORILLA [KING KONG] IN THE ROOM. R A FEIBEL
I have always carried with me the conviction that the operation arm of the CIA should be eliminated. Maybe I got the idea fifty years ago from President Truman. I was never an admirer of this political animal President Truman, but he did have guts.
“Exactly one month after John Kennedy was killed, the Washington Post published an op-ed by Harry Truman titled “Limit CIA Role to Intelligence.” The first sentence read, “I think it has become necessary to take another look at the purpose and operations of our Central Intelligence Agency.”’
It is worth noting that it has never been seriously considered, even questioned, by any Congress or President, i.e., to abolish the operations arm of the CIA yet it perfidy is apparent since World War II.
please, it’s Turkish Cuban Missile Crisis.. read about it. Even Wikipedia.

“On Monday, Russia-gate special prosecutor Robert Mueller indicted Trump’s one-time campaign manager Paul Manafort on unrelated money laundering, tax and foreign lobbying charges, apparently in the hope that Manafort will provide incriminating evidence against Trump.”
There is obviously a lot of dirt regarding Russians to be found on Manafort, Trump, Browder, Clinton, Podesta, and many more. The real charge is supposed to be that the Russian Government influenced our election, and seeks to make Trump their puppet. So far we have no real evidence. I think that Mueller, Brennan, and that gang of miscreants may try to fabricate evidence and get Manafort to corroborate it. Cynic that I am, I wouldn’t put it past them.
You can count on these evil operatives faking evidence, and every other underhanded trick they can pull off. These “guardians of the law” are the worst kind of criminals. The CIA is the most evil organization on this planet.

I hope that you and yours are well.
I think you may want to do some more research on the Mossad before rendering your verdict on “the most evil organization on this planet”.
Just a thought.

Can we call it a toss-up?
George H. W. Bush ain’t long for this world and when he finally goes they Might release the documents-but I doubt it.
He was in Dallas that day employed by the CIA.
Robert Parry has done extensive research on “The October Surprise” and has gathered evidence that Bush Sr. met with Iranian officials in Paris in the months before the election.
Motive and Opportunity. As head of CIA Bush had every means at his disposal to make an arms deal for keeping the hostages captive in order to hurt Carters chances for reelection. The republicans must have been terrified by the possibility that Carter, the master negotiator who made peace between Mideast enemies, would again strike a magicians deal with the Iranians. Such a deal would have been a sure election boost for Carter and one which the republicans could ill afford.
The special prosecutor Lawrence Walsh wrote a book called Firewall about how the congress shut down Iran Contra when it appeared that the relationship with the Iranians and the arms sales went back much farther and went much higher up the chain.
Again, the crime and the treason were so tangible that the credible threat of an impeachment based on truly treasonous crimes which would shake the bedrock of our democracy convinced many that it was a mountain too far and high. They shut down the investigation abruptly.
Carters mission in the desert Operation Eagle Claw to rescue the hostages also mysteriously ended in failure as the helicopters encountered technical difficulty and had to be abandoned Was that an inside job? It wreaks of it.
Sabotage and dealing arms with an enemy nation which we were effectively at a state of warm and having no diplomatic relations with in a direct attempt to prolong the captivity of American civilians for the purposes of influencing a national election. Let that be the definition of high crimes and misdemeanors. But the media did nothing. Instead we were all sold some pablum about how scared the Iranians were of Reagan that they waited until the minute that he was sworn in to send the plane loaded with all the hostages on its way after it sat on the tarmac fully fueled for 6 hours until the moment Reagan was sworn as president. Perhaps the Iranians waited just to make sure Reagan properly was sworn in hoping he would cancel the whole affair whereupon the Iranians could keep the hostages without the threat of the superhero who would crush them. Just kidding. It is the most ridiculous excuse of a reason a foreign enemies actions I have ever heard. Yet with the megaphone of the media and its propaganda we heard little else to counter the absurd story.
This too has been a story that has never seen the light of day in the main stream media or public discourse. Another aborted investigation just like Iran Contra.
How many examples do we need before the notion that the Kennedy assassination was just one more coverup where the facts will never see the light of day?
How about “Operation Ignore” where Bush Jr. had the analysis from Richard Clark on his desk that Al Qaeda was planning the attack but ignored it or the FAA flight instructors who alerted the FBI who alerted the CIA that Saudis were training to fly commercial jets but had no interest in learning how to land the planes? They were also told to just ignore it. Bush and Cheney had their PNAC plans of preemptive war written in detail and Cheney openly lamented that the American people would not likely go along with plans for war without a catalyzing event like a “new Pearl Harbor”. Again, this bit of history will never see the light of day. It is obvious to everyone that the claims of WMD and all the lies of the Bush Administration were false but we are distracted by our true blue media and elected representatives with some bullshit about Benghazi while the story of Operation Ignore and its aftermath will never be explored even though the truth of it is in front of our eyes.
We truly are sheep led by the nose to bypass all of these events and to focus on BS.
Who killed Kennedy? You can be guaranteed we will never get an official honest answer. We never do.
CitizenOne –
I hope that you and yours are well.
Let’s not forget Zacarias Moussaoui, the so-called 20th “hijacker”and his laptop. A watered down version from Wikipedia:
“On August 16, 2001, Moussaoui was arrested by Harry Samit of the FBI and INS agents in Minnesota and charged with an immigration violation. Materials itemized when he was arrested included a laptop computer, two knives, flight manuals pertaining to Boeing’s 747 aircraft, a flight simulator computer program, fighting gloves and shin guards, and a computer disk with information about crop dusting.
Some agents worried that his flight training had violent intentions, so the Minnesota bureau tried to get permission (sending over 70 emails in a week) to search his laptop, but they were turned down. FBI agent Coleen Rowley made an explicit request for permission to search Moussaoui’s personal rooms. This request was first denied by her superior, Deputy General Counsel Marion “Spike” Bowman, and later rejected based upon FISA regulations (amended after 9/11 by the USA Patriot Act). Several further search attempts similarly failed.
Ahmed Ressam, the captured al-Qaeda Millennium Bomber, was at the time sharing information with the US authorities, in an effort to gain leniency in his sentencing. One person whom he was not asked about until after 9/11, but whom he was able to identify when asked as having trained with him at al-Qaeda’s Khalden Camp in Afghanistan, was Moussaoui. The 9/11 Commission Report opined that had Ressam been asked about Moussaoui, he would have broken the FBI’s logjam. Had that happened, the Report opined, the U.S. might conceivably have disrupted or derailed the September 11 attacks altogether.”
FBI agent Coleen Rowley has publicly stated that her superiors in Washington actually rewrote her FISA warrant request to search his laptop and rooms so that it would fail, while most FISA requests were basically rubber-stamped for approval.
Just more evidence of the treasonous collusion within the U.S. security establishment.
In truth and for justice,
John W. Wright
John,
Lots of confirmation I was not aware of but typical of the way Richard Clarke describes life in the Bush White House and others have described it.
PBS has a documentary about FBI agent John O’Neill called “The Man who Knew”. He unraveled the plot and made a pariah of himself so much he received a demotion and was relocated to a new office high up in one of the twin towers.
Dead men don’t tell tales.
What is most disconcerting as always is the complicity of our national and even global media. We really are in a media bubble where such obvious stuff is never part of the coverage.
The most frightening thing is just like some Saturday morning cartoon where Dr Evil poisons the planet for greed, powerful AI is coming to police the internet. You can bet the algorithms will be programmed to preserve the business interest and to hell with the truth.
In short, we are screwed. Any ideas?
Ray McGovern – excellent piece. Well done. I’ve put “JFK and the Unspeakable” on my reading list. I never thought Oswald killed JFK. It was written all over his face.
Every President since JFK has done what they’ve been told, except for maybe Carter. And for every few steps backward that Trump takes, he takes perhaps a half-step forward. Maybe that’s all we can hope for, considering what he’s up against. Someone else posted the following comment:
“He said the right things before the election – no more foreign wars; NATO is a dinosaur which should be scrapped. However, after the election, he seemed to become an instant NEOCON, which disappointed huge numbers of people.
The only remaining question is whether this is a ploy as some of his die-hard supporters hope. Certainly if you are entering a swamp full of alligators, it would be a good idea to look like an alligator!
Odd things seem to be happening :
– James Comey sacked and disgraced
– A spotlight on Hillary Clinton for the Uranium One deal and the ‘Trump dossier’
– Over 50% of Americans now realise the media is biased
– CIA ordered to stop supporting Al Nusra in Syria
– The ‘Deep State’ is now in full view”
Small steps, but progress nonetheless.
OH, I meant to shout out to Jim Glover, who I saw perform live with Jim and Jean at Memorial Auditorium in, I think it was, 1966. Good show! There was Jim and Jean, Terry Knight and the Pack, and two other groups. Good to see you alive and kickin’! I wish we could have discussed the Kennedy assassination then.
Yes, Lee Oswald, in the words of Mr. Jim Garrison, was a hero. And kudos to Ray McGovern for another fine piece of erudite writing. The written down info on paper has long since met its elimination, that is, the truth evidence we all long to see. Perhaps raids on individual’s homes that were involved could spring forth some facts. You know, Geronimo… JFK’s personal “computer”, etc. As I posted prior, the head of the George H.W. crime family hasn’t passed just yet. Perhaps in six months when the rest of the docs are due, that will have happened.
Does it really matter if they release 200 or just 10 of their fake classified documents?
20 years ago I would have believed in those docs but not today. They’re all fake. why would the CIA document the evidence that it killed JFK and MLK?
Modes of communication back then were different than they are now. Any elaborate scheme would have to be documented and shared in some fashion, physically, among those involved – for those on lower rungs, on more of a “need to know” basis. I don’t think wired or wireless communication had progressed enough back then to absolutely ensure confidentiality (e.g. wiretap prevention).
One thing I am curious about, however, is the matter regarding the destruction and/or deletion of these documents, so that they can never be recovered.
I found the full text of Harry Truman’s op/ed on Dec.22, 1963

I love McGovern’s essays but I can assure him of one thing: there was no conspiracy to kill JFK. Oswald acted alone and was not a part of any conspiracy involving the MIC (military industrial complex), mob, or CIA.
I write this fully acknowledging that the CIA and MIC have been responsible for undemocratic power grabs, coups, subversion, and assassinations across the globe for the past 70 plus years, they just weren’t involved in any conspiracy to rub out JFK. The CIA/MIC have been directly responsible for bloody skullduggery, though they disliked JFK (viewing him as less of a committed Cold Warrior than they), they did not orchestrate his murder.
The definitive book on this subject that proves without a doubt Oswald acted alone and was not a part of any conspiracy, is Vincent Bugliosi’s magnum opus, “Reclaiming History.” It took him over 20 years to research and write; it demonstrates to any fair minded reader that there was no conspiracy. I urge folks to at least skim this truth tome for the truth. The only folks it will never convince are the buffs who wasted their lives going down the JFK conspiracy rabbit hole.
Drew Hunkins –
I hope that you and yours are well.
While I own the Bugliosi book, I have yet to read it.
Pray tell, what was Oswald’s motive, why did he clearly state that he was a patsy, why was Ruby allowed into the garage and why did Ruby kill him?
Finally, how does he explain away the obvious physical evidence that JFK was hit from the front with at least one shot?
Btw, just because a book is heavy and took years to write doesn’t make it true, yes?
In truth and for justice,
John W. Wright
Oswald was a disgruntled malcontent who was having marital problems. He was also deeply upset about JFK’s hostility toward Castro and Cuba and he was a narcissist who was set on putting his name in the history books.
Bugliosi’s incredible book “Reclaiming History” spells out the motive. Moreover, Bugliosi explains convincingly that the shots came from the rear. Ruby was allowed in via a garage door, he basically just wandered in through the door as if he belonged in the place. He was well known to the cops as a town character of sorts. He ingratiated himself to the local cops during his entire time in Dallas, cops would often get free drinks at his Carousel Club.
The portrait of Oswald as a “disgruntled malcontent” was created by the Warren Commission using selective testimony. The text of the Warren Report concedes that such portrait was largely an assumption. Oswald’s supposed animus to JFK was also made up out of nothing – the only direct information on Oswald’s feelings toward the President evidenced no hostility. The concept that Oswald was a “narcissist who was set on putting his name in the history books” is likewise unsupported by anything except the opinion of persons such as the Paines. Their statements are assumptive as well, not based on anything Oswald may have said or done.
Bugliosi was commissioned to write “Reclaiming History”. His book is “incredible”, but not for the reasons you think. Informed critics have pointed out in detail the deficiencies of Bugliosi’s arguments, which basically are the same as the Warren Commission’s presentation. In fact, a defence of the Warren Commission is no longer feasible and a different approach accepting an official coverup is the new limited hangout.
Wrong. Bugliosi’s book is the definitive book on the assassination. No one to this day has provided any credible evidence to refute his assertions.
Oswald was indeed a narcissistic malcontent. Several teachers, Marina and others vouched for this view. Bugliosi’s lengthy chapter on Oswald is worth the price of the book alone.
jaycee –
I hope that you and yours are well.
Thank you for your response and your very cogent points.
My limited research into the JFK assassination immediately led me to conclude that Oswald was a patsy and that this was a deep state event.
I bought the Bugliosi book used for one dollar. I immediately read some critiques of it and realized that it was not worth reading unless I got insanely bored and had absolutely nothing else productive to do, and as a possible future reference.
The propaganda arm of the deep state is quite adept at facilitating denial, isn’t it?
In truth and for justice,
John W. Wright
Drew, James DiEugenio has written a book-length refutation of Bugliosi’s method and argument in “Reclaiming Parkland.” It is full of credible evidence which shreds Bugliosi (by extension the Warren Commission and the Official Story). Bugliosi was commissioned to do the book, which serves as a prosecutor’s brief. It may seem convincing, but the prosecution’s case requires cross examination to hold or convince, and when such is applied such case is greatly diminished.
Referring to Oswald as a “narcissistic malcontent” is useless beyond the expression of an opinion, whether of former teachers or the Warren Commission staff lawyers. Marina Oswald is certainly not reliable, as a lengthy HSCA memo noted when reviewing her ever-changing inconsistent statements.
I am almost certain that Oswald was definitely set up. For starters – the gun that he supposedly used could not have possibly been fired in rapid succession, like the one that killed JFK. (Or, at the very, very least, Oswald could not have done it alone if he actually did fire his weapon.) An expert marksman had demonstrated this conclusively.
I will not assume 100% confidence in this – hence being almost certain – but it would be difficult to convince me that Oswald acted, and acted alone.
The Manlicher-Carcano was indeed capable of doing exactly what Oswald did. Reclaiming History explains it thoroughly. Also, what Oswald did was get two shots off in rapid succession, not 3. Because if you think about it he essentially had quite a bit of time to set up for the very first shot, then he had 8ish seconds to fire the next two shots. Oswald was a decent shot as a marine, not a superstar expert shot but he was a good shot, capable of hitting JFK’s head, which is what he succeeded in doing.
Drew-
Here is a link to an article that talks about a bullet hole fired through the windshield from in front of the car. Please read it and tell me what you think.
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/48105.htm
Oswald would have had a great deal of difficulty firing that manlicher cardamom rifle 3 times in such rapid succession, as there was no “en bloc” clip present. The only way that rifle could be fired without this clip would have been by loading single cartridges into the chamber by hand, the internal magazine was not functional without it. Look this information up for yourself.
Then look at the inventory of the crime scene. The required en bloc clip is not listed, it was not there. These clips did not come with the box of Winchester ammunition allegedly used, and apparently, whoever set this scenario up was not as thorough in their research and preparations as to have known about and acquired the clip-
Exact Manlicher-Carcanos — just like the one Oswald used — were tested and found to routinely perform exactly what Oswald did.
Read Bugliosi’s truth tome “Reclaiming History” and you’ll discover that you’ve been misled by the buffs.
Drew Hunkins:
You keep repeating that the rifle can do what was claimed. But that is not what is being contested.
I commend your reading that long book, I have some more reading material for you here:
https://www.assassinationresearch.com/v1n2/gtds.html
I am quite satisfied that a good rifleman armed with a 6.5 Manlicher Carcano WITH A FUNCTIONAL EN BLOC CLIP IN ITS MAGAZINE and sufficent ammunition in that clip could have fired as quickly as has been claimed.
The whole matter I am NOT satisfied with rests on the identity of the rifle allegedly found at the “snipers nest”, the ammunition found or NOT found, and, most tellingly, the the required en bloc clip that magically appeared both physically and in written records QUITE a while later.
A 6 round weapon and a total of 5 live and expended rounds? A weapon that required an en bloc clip to function normally, or at ALL- which clip is variously not found, found, added to reports on physical evidence later, the four primary reports by those who saw, handled and examined the weapon that are entirely missing from the publicly released commission materials and only refered to by other reports?
You can believe the lame, unsupportable by primary evidence and circular attempts to confirm this piece of physical evidence if you like. But it certainly looks to me (and quite a few other people who actually KNOW how the alleged weapon functions) as if someone who thought they knew what they were doing provided a weapon, but not this (obscure) bit of hardware it required to actually function.
Only TWO Out of all the primary WWII infantry rifles used an en bloc, and unless you were an Italian soldier, knowledgable military gun collector, armorer tasked with analysis of enemy weapons or an extreme gun nerd, you wouldn’t know about the en bloc and what the absence and alleged scenario of its discovery meant.
Please do reply, it will help me decide about something I am wondering about- That is, are you a bit dim, or is it your job to be obtuse, obstructionist and contrary on public forums? That is to say, are you a fool or a liar, or both?
Drew Hunkins, you are talking nonsense. The wound to Kennedy’s right lower skull is an EXIT WOUND, therefore Oswald could not have done the deed. Being an exit wound and low means the rifle that murdered our President was HIGH and IN FRONT of our President. The ONLY possible location for the rifle shootist that murdered our President was on top of The Triple Underpass.
Almost all the doctors at Parkland have assured the honest researchers that the back of the head wound was an entrance wound. There was a doctor who dissented (I’ve forgotten his name at the moment) from this consensus opinion but he was found to be unstable and essentially grabbing for a moment in the spotlight.
Some of the doctors who agreed the back of the head wound was an entrance wound were thinking of suing this dissenting doctor but thought otherwise when they saw him on a television interview coming off as fairly pathetic; they took pity on him.
It’s all in Bugliosi’s book “Reclaiming History.” Please read it before you malign me as proffering nonsense. Please peruse it.
It is not true that in politics the cream rises to the top. That is true of milk. In politics, the crooks without a moral compass rise to the top. Look to the ascendancy within the CIA of those who were in Texas during the time Kennedy was assassinated and who later rose to the top of the CIA. The story does not end there. Presidents were elected and those within the CIA rode in on the coattails or rather paved the way for their incorporation into the Executive Branch later to emerge as the leaders of the Executive Branch. They had a good ride and after retirement, some went on to become international spokespersons of the world’s biggest international arms dealers reaping billions for the defense industry.
At each stage of their ascendancy there was absolute corruption and even treason and possibly murder. The treachery was never covered by the main stream press and when investigations got too close to the truth they were abandoned by Washington. Their Modus operandi from the beginning was to commit such a huge crime that nobody wanted to face ugly realities. Such crimes were to much for a democracy to face since they would rock the very foundations upon which our free nation and its system of laws would bear.
It was a plan where to tell a big lie or commit a big crime. Big lies and even bigger crimes were perceived as a sure fire way to prevail. Big lies are hard to fight. Invulnerability is enhanced by a media system which is a mouthpiece of the state. So it was in Germany under state controlled media and so it is here in America with corporate controlled media. There is really no difference between state control of the media and corporate control since the beneficiaries of either scenario are the wealthy. Their interests are served under both scenarios. State control is obviously more desirable and is seen in the majority of cases but when state control of the media is hampered by regulatory agencies and a commercial media establishment based on profits then the commercial establishment will take on the role of state propaganda organ to further its own goals.
It is no coincidence that Republicans going back the Reagan have tirelessly sought to limit free speech and have sought to undercut or eliminate controls on the media which mandate fair play. The end of The Fairness Doctrine was a top priority which immediately led to the commercial media exercising its might and influence political influence favoring right wing causes. Conservative cable television was born shortly after with a mission it upholds to this day to promote everything republican and to attack what it perceives as egalitarian.
The current remounting an attack on the free internet is again underway by republicans who seek to make the internet the equivalent of cable TV. If the proposed ruling is passed and upheld, no longer will internet service providers have to provide information which is counter to their business interests. This website will have to get their own Facebook page to be heard. That is not a guarantee however since Facebook and other large internet corporations are dutifully fulfilling their role as proxies for state controlled media with algorithms to purge “fake news” which will be defined by them as anything not supportive of their bottom line.
Mr. Parry may want to preemptively strike this post from the record lest is offend some commercial media company or any of their sponsors business models. He might even find some very wealthy donors willing to float his website in exchange for turning a blind eye.
It is interesting to speculate if Kennedy’s fate would have been different if he had not opposed the ambitions of the military and intelligence or whether the current administration would be in less trouble if it had not initially followed the same course. It seems the current administration has learned its lessons and has decided to come in from the cold and tow the party line regarding foreign policy. It was and is a stunning reversal of the campaign rhetoric which resonated with voters which blasted US foreign policy and the excesses of the military. Still, it is obvious the current administration still holds a deep skepticism of our military industrial complex and our intelligence community. Obvious also to those who now hold the presidency in the balance of existence or impeachment.
Those who followed a career path to promote militarism who rewrote laws allowing war profiteers to make billions are rewarded. . They rose to the top. Government panels will never find guilt there.
Those who opposed militarism found themselves on a long road filled with landmines which sometimes caused their deaths. As far as shedding light on how they ran into trouble with the government and faced the consequences we see that the government will endlessly cover their tracks hiding the role of the war profiteers under the guise of national security.
In any crime, a detective needs only to ask who had a motive and who had an opportunity to commit the crime. The suspects that fit that model are the chief suspects in committing the crime. The Kennedy assassination is actually a quite simple case to solve. Just follow the money.
In business and economically-controlled fake democracy, the tyrant is least encumbered and easily gains more power than his moral superiors and rises to control the organization.
Odd that you would suggest that Mr. Parry would seek by any means to suppress your dissent, as he is among the strongest defenders of dissent. Perhaps you jest.
Indeed Sam F I do jest. I am not serious about that at all. I would actually be upset if he took me seriously too. I was “suggesting” that in media land that is exactly what major media corporations do. There are large donors to major media who buy their silence. Look at PBS. NOVA is a science show paid for by the Koch Foundation. I know full well the integrity of this website and its reliance on small donors and the lack of advertising which preserves that integrity.
However the threat to this website is real. It was placed on the list of fake news websites by the shadowy PropOrNot group which it identified as pro Russian propaganda.
Your quote:
“In business and economically-controlled fake democracy, the tyrant is least encumbered and easily gains more power than his moral superiors and rises to control the organization.”
It is absolutely true. Perhaps we should start a movement against “fake democracy” instead of fake news. Fake news is merely the mouth of fake democracy. Fake democracy is the rest of the lying organization wholly committed to destroying democracy.
The Russians must be licking their chops right now as the republican tax cuts are heading toward realization knowing they will also be the big winners in this tax scheme. So much for endless worry about Russian influence as we are about to hand them billions of dollars in “relief” Around 30% of equity is held by foreign investors in America and they all stand to gain as money is taken from Medicare and other social welfare programs and is transferred via tax relief to shareholders. In this equation it equals taking 750 billion from Medicare and handing 700 billion over to foreign investors in the hope they will reinvest that windfall back into the US economy. The rest of the money will be added to our deficit raising it another two trillion dollars. So much for fiscal responsibility from the conservatives.
Interesting points; thanks.
Trump has no more cards to play. The only thing left is to upset the table, and do something really stupid – like attack North Korea.
Gee Ray, do you really expect the truth to ever come out? The odds of those people who were believed to possess inside knowledge dying in such a short period of time after 11-22-63 are extremely low when compared to reality. Then we have James E. Files confessing to being one of the shooters. His interview is on youtube. We have Johnson’s mistress saying he told her after 11/22/63 the Kennedys would not be a problem for him. (on youtube). Finally we have Judyth Vary Baker’s story about how she and Lee Oswald became lovers in the summer of 1963. (Book and Youtube). Lee had known Jack Ruby since he was a young boy. Nixon knew Ruby. The Parkland docs said he JFK had an entry wound in his front neck which he grabbed first-bullet hole in window. E. Howard Hunt confessed. But the docs have either been whitewashed or blackened out. J Edgar Hoover and his buddy LBJ and allen dulles worked to see it was covered up even in the face of such evidence to the contrary. Ruby certainly knew he was being injected with a deadly strain of cancer from JVB’s work. Too bad he did not talk at that point-more than he did.
Sorry, but what’s the point of this article? I literally didn’t learn anything new at all. Please stop rehashing the same old points.
Whatever happens during the next election, we as Americans must never allow the Office of the Presidency to be besmirched by assassination, blackmail or coercion-ever again. That office, is the highest office of our Great Nation. That Office, is the Oval Office, and is sacrosanct (as the Pope is to a Catholic), in a way, even higher still because it’s not the person be they a degenerate or saint, but the dignity of the Seat and Office. I have witnessed the fall of some potentially good American political leaders: by assassination, intimidation, through coercion-to wit, Senator Edmund Muskie, during his run for the presidency, his wife was brought to tears by endless harassing phone calls translation- no Polack’s in the White House), the harassment(s) most likely by one of our Intel agencies. John F. Kennedy Jr’s. plane crash (nip it at the bud and kill the Irish Catholic liberal), Senator Paul Wellstone (no liberal Jews in the White House) and that goes for Bernie too, he was either secretly intimidated or threatened. Ditto for Representative Dennis Kucinich (again, through covert threats and gerrymandering) Can you connect the dots here America? it goes way back to the founders; No Jews, No Catholics, no Slav’s and no-one that doesn’t smell like us-WASPS. So, feel free to run, you-all from the throng-the great, and the small, the “qualified” and unqualified. Again, Dennis-your back’s covered, not by the FBI or the Secret Service or so called, Homeland Security but by the United Sates of America. We, as a People, will not allow another black op, murder or “tricks”. No sudden review’s of old tax forms from 1977, no revelations of adultery, if any (no-one will care) petty bribery investigation, if any or sexual deviation, if any. They’ll not dare and touch a hair on your head-because this time around, should there is any hint of chicanery it will be their heads that roll-we are many and they are few. If Prez Trump (ever) decides to blow up the world, I’ll take one thing to my grave-he didn’t enter the Oval Office by edict of the Supreme Court or dangling chads, or dark money. He is our POTUS and you don’t have to be a Harvard grad, member of the Skull-n-Bones club or a Rockefeller stooge to run the United States Of America!
We won’t get to the truth of the assassinations and false flags in this imperialist wasteland until the “intelligence” agencies have been abolished. Why would the criminals responsible for the state we find ourselves in and the deteriorating global system be willing to reveal their own role in this sordid mess?
The whole system needs to be upended and replaced. It will probably have to be initiated from outside our borders. I suspect, that’s what the fear really is in the corridors of power.
Lois,
My thoughts exactly. A revolution is necessary to crush the present power structures, but it never happens without much suffering, chaos, even bloodshed. Empires don’t reform themselves. The requests by the intelligence agencies to protect individuals, still alive, from being revealed in the JFK documents, is not the real reason. The agencies themselves need this protection. When individuals are gone, the structures still remain.
“When individuals are gone, the structures still remain.”
These specific structures are self-devouring. A country cannot cultivate a leadership comprised of the incompetent and sycophantic scum without becoming rotten from inside and along all dimensions. There is an obvious loss of dignity on the national level.
There must be over 500k hits on net since these papers were released, that have same thing as this and sorry folks those of my age and were not wrapped in the same flag as this author are finding not a damn thing new.
Ever wonder where and how all the Kennedy b’s was stored, wonder if as is normally done by intel, copies, micro film first then digital copies for posterity and all those who have had access to these and one he’ll of a lot more interesting files?
Would first Bush of had any connections within US Intel community during his term?
Who are the hands on people that physicly handled the material; gathering up, how many months days before release to Trump ( for approval)?
And why is it not being screamed from even the Supremes holy halls that it is An illegal to with hold any portion, and not even the Presidency was to have sole access before all americans.
READ THE DAMN ACT THAT PLACED IT INTO SECRECY.!
If someone hasn’t figured out that we live within a data controlled police State by now and the Internet has lots of paid government trolls whose only task is to confuse and control info that is , every branch of military has groups Congress passed funding for, going to be supported by those who cannot think outside of years of federal dependency.
Like Pavlovs dogs, slobbering atmouth tails wagging when bell rand, well the village bell ringers of today took the clippers out
I hate to say this, but I believe the American people, (as do the rest of us) live in a captured country or countries. We are spied upon, taxed to death, controlled, fed propaganda and Trillions are spent on wars. Our sons and daughters and grandchildren fight and die in these illegal wars, while corporate cannibals make massive bloodstained profits. Homeless people are everywhere, drugs are epidemic and some banks launder drug money. the Rule of “law” has become the rule of outlaws. Offshore tax havens hide the money of the plutocracy. i could go on and on with more examples of the depredations perpetrated upon ordinary people. Therefore, I ask:
Is This The “Democracy” of the Depraved? see link below for more info,
. http://graysinfo.blogspot.ca/2017/10/is-this-democracy-of-depraved.html
Stephen J. – “The Rule of Law has become the rule of outlaws.” Great line, Stephen.
Let us be honest. Trump never cared about JFK and he has nothing but contempt for the american people.
This supposed release of documents is a hoax. One could think Bannon was behind this for he picks a little from the left and cobbles it together for fascism. His goal is to create a new proto fascist party to compete with reactionary republicans.
This whole story about how Trump tried to release documents but could not due to the deep state smells like what it is: fraud.
But it does do the job it is supposed to: getting the average Joe or Mary to think that Donald is held captive by the deep state. Nothing could be more absurd. Trump is a representative of the deep state.
All this JFK malarky is and was designed to keep people from looking the failure of capitalism in the eye and allowing Bannon to seem he is progressive when in fact, he is a regressive.
We may not know who actually fired the sixteen or so shots. What we do know, and one can read The Devil’s Chessboard by David Talbot, as well as research the issue, is that JFK was assassinated not by Oswald, who never fired a shot, but by members of the CIA, Anti-Castro Cubans, oil rich individuals in Texas and the mob.
Our country was enveloped in a coup. And now, look where we are. The deep state, three generals and the CIA, control, with the banks, everything.
The JFK issue by Trump was a scam to keep our minds on anything but the collapse of capitalism and the country.
Danny Weil –
I hope that you and yours are well.
While I’m pretty sure we are in general agreement about the big picture here, let me see if I can modify your thinking on this, and perhaps through dialogue, you can also help me further refine mine. I’ve spent an inordinate amount of time analyzing Trump since he entered the 2016 primary and my thinking on him has evolved as I’ve gotten more data to work with. It may be easiest if I just respond to your comments in order, so here goes:
While it’s pretty clear that Trump always puts himself and his family first, I think he actually does care about the American people, in his own rather strange way. One of his main problems is that he’s pretty unstable and thus lacks the discipline needed to take on what I think he’s attempting to do.
In light of the fact that the Warren Commission was fraudulent, the long-scheduled release of the JFK documents is not so much of a hoax, as a clever use of said scheduled event to distract and alter the narrative in accordance with the wishes of those who control the documents.
As for Bannon, I haven’t spent a lot of time studying him, but while aware of the deep state he appears to be outside it and I suspect was/is trying to ally himself with one faction ( more accurately, one sub-faction) within the deep state to restore native American control over the country. [Recall George W. Bush’s recent use of the word “nativism”in calling out Trump (the Bush Crime Family is part of a larger, more powerful deep state faction)]
Let’s pause here and reflect on the Anglo-American Deep State. It is not a monolith, it is comprised of factions with sub-factions which form alliances and engage in projects when and where their interests are mutually beneficial. One of the most powerful sub-factions is not Anglo-American, and this is the faction that Bannon and Trump have taken on. What we are actually witnessing right now is a struggle within the Anglo-American Deep State as the various interests diverge at this critical point in history.
Thus, it is quite possible that Trump did want to release all the JFK documents but, as he is being increasingly boxed in by more powerful factions within the deep state, wasn’t able to. In any case, this is a side show being spun for maximum advantage by the threatened factions now pushing back as hard as they can to bend Trump to their will, as they have with the few previous presidents who tried to go their own way (most recently Carter).
[Bannon’s rapid ouster from the White House indicates just how quickly and how hard the factions opposed to the Trump/Bannon “revolution” sprung into action, just one of many examples, btw]
So, yes, Trump is part of the deep state, but until he decided to run for president he was on the periphery of it and tried to ally himself with one, very pro-American faction, in order to serve a very specific agenda, which doesn’t serve the interests of the more powerful Anglo-American Deep State alliance. I think the root of this is his concern that his financial empire was no longer being served by this larger deep state alliance, so this is a desperate attempt to maintain and even increase his wealth (and restore “American Greatness” or at least viability).
Much of the “malarky” (great word, btw) we are being subjected to is indeed nothing but distraction, but by sifting through the noise we can better identify the factions and their various agendas. I agree that much of this is to distract from the pending catastrophic failure of financial capitalism, but there are always multiple agendas at work and differing end games which need to be considered and countered. I think it simplest to describe Bannon as a reactionary nativist, but labels can be restrictive and thus interfere with more accurate analysis.
I’m not sure how many shots were fired in Dealey Plaza that terrible day, but there is no doubt that the Anglo-American Deep State still fears the exposure of its first large scale public crime of the television age and will go to great lengths to preserve the insulting fraud of the Warren Commission Report. That terrible day was one of many coups in American history, and one that should have prompted a larger wake-up call from the American people.
I think the Anglo-American Deep State over-played its hand with the September 11th, 2001 False Flag and enough people have awakened to it, both consciously and unconsciously, to be mobilized for real change. We just need to come together, organize and act.
The Anglo-American Deep State and its various factions are not invincible. They can be divided and dismantled, but this can only be done peacefully and through a conscious, collective effort by a majority of the American people.
Time is short, there are many end games in play, with various factions working to maintain or improve their positions.
Btw, in case it’s not obvious, I’m not a Trump supporter.
In truth and for justice,
John W. Wright
In spite of Trump’s intentions – one way or the other – it is at the very least quite evident that Trump is facing enormous pressure from Deep State forces. Having read his tweets myself, I am genuinely concerned with his process and means of presidential management. I also have reason to believe that his advisors are definitely not all on the same page. If you heard his speech at the U.N. General Assembly, he is very professional and diplomatic in the first half of the speech, and very much acting unhinged in the second half of his speech. In many ways, he is a personifiable juxtaposition of sorts – the sum of his words and actions, together, do not create much of a dynamic cohesion. (One may even say “cognitive dissonance”.) The perfect example of this is Trump’s vowed support for Glass-Steagall style legislation, while hiring Steven Mnuchin as Secretary of the Treasury – Mnuchin is vehemently opposed to Glass-Steagall. This hiring makes no sense, unless one assumes either deception or ignorance on the part of Trump. I’ll assume the latter until proven otherwise.
Also, the Bush family absolutely HATES Trump, after Trump easily neutralized Jeb’s candidacy by applying terms like “weak” and “low-energy” to uncharismatic Jeb, among other things. The Bush family scrambled for hundreds of millions of dollars to resuscitate and strengthen Jeb’s campaign, but it was sadly too late as resources dried up. The final nail on the coffin was the viral video of Jeb telling a small audience to “please clap” – this moment is comparable in some ways to Howard Dean’s yell. (It probably did not make a substantial difference in the eventual outcome, but it hastened the death of Jeb’s candidacy for sure.)
Lastly, one interesting thing I should note is that since Trump is indebted to multiple banks for unpaid loans (which I think exceeds over $1 billion in sum – I’m not sure of the estimated amount), it is possible that Trump may conduct favors for these specific banks in exchange for debt forgiveness. Hopefully, HSBC is not one of these banks. (At least one of these banks is European, as I recall.) This fact alone can potentially prove to be ominous, as it could provide more of a motivation for stalling much-needed financial reforms. This could undermine Trump’s support for Glass-Steagall, if he ever really supported it in the first place.
If there is such a Trump debt, it will likely be found by HSI, FBI, or IRS and almost certainly be revealed or otherwise used against him. Doubtless interested parties would make attractive bids for such debt.
Perhaps all debt of elected officials should be assumed by government to preclude coercion.
Adam Halverson –
I hope that you and yours are well.
You make good points which I have also considered.
I have several working hypotheses regarding Trump.
The above was my most optimistic one.
I think it quite possible that the Anglo-American Deep State allowed him to win in order for him to be the fall guy when they bring down the petrodollar in order to reset the global currency ponzi scam. Think the Hoover debacle on steroids. Unfortunately, this will likely be accompanied by a world war beyond comprehension with massive population reduction also quite possible [if the Malthusian faction of the Global Deep State (Bilderbergers), gets its way]. This is one possible explanation for why the U.S. has amassed an absolutely insane level of conventional armaments and has raced ahead of everyone else in its development of drone warfare, far in excess of what is needed to simply maintain the status quo when combined with “soft power”, of which the U.S. has an ever-diminishing ability to project.
A less destructive scenario for the planet involves abandoning the petrodollar, collapsing the U.S. economy and installing the Chinese as the new foot soldiers of the Global Deep State. This only becomes an option if the Chinese finally sign over their currency to the international banking cartel, which I have yet to find definitive evidence of.
One explanation for our creation of AFRICOM (and its aggressive expansion) and the present, seemingly insane, escalation with North Korea is a move to counter the Chinese Option by the Anglo-American faction within the Global Deep State. Of course, it could also be a ploy to force the Chinese to capitulate and hand the Yuan over to the global banking cartel. I’m not an East Asia expert and sorely miss Chalmers Johnson’s independent analysis of what the Chinese are actually doing.
What should be clear to everyone is that the Petrodollar is on its last legs and multiple end games are in play, so the days of America’s free ride on the global economy are rapidly coming to a close.
Thus, unless the American people themselves take control of their fate, we are in for a massive and rapid lowering of both our standard of living and our quality of life.
Fortunately, there is a peaceful way through this morass, but it will take a great awakening and evolution of humanity to avoid another era of sociopathic control by the Global Deep State and its Machiavellian machinations.
This is what we all need to work for, and with great urgency, or our children and grand-children will curse our folly as the U.S. recedes into a marginally productive colony of the Global Deep State, only good for providing ever-diminishing raw materials and psychopathic mercenaries.
[Scary enough for Halloween, eh?]
In truth and for justice (and real peace),
John W. Wright
An excellent article again from Ray McGovern, and James W. Douglass’ book is incredibly good. I can’t help but think that, if the truth behind Kennedy’s assassination really were to be revealed now, an explosion that may yet occur in this repressed society might happen because there is much anger among middle class and poor Americans that has been building up for years. Then again, maybe it would be spun away by the “Fourth Estate”. In any case, the Deep State again sends a signal that it is firmly in control. The only way this will change is through revolution, as Chris Hedges believes, and advocating government overthrow has been criminalized by this criminal government.
Many theorize the same. That if Americans only knew about JFK they would rebel. I think not. Americans care nothing about illegal murders. And so many youth do not even know who Kennedy was
Sad, and unfortunately, probably true. If I’m not mistaken, I believe that it was Bertrand Russell who at one point spoke of cultivating and propagating stupidity among the common gentry. Somehow, somewhere, I strongly feel that all this can be traced to the toxic societal groupthink promoted not just by the media, but by the mindset of an unbridled and largely unregulated free market. (I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself and off-topic here, so I’ll just leave it at that.)
The photo from Oliver Stones JFK movie is not right because it shows Kennedy leaning back face up while Jackie is grabbing a piece of his skull off the trunk witnessed by SS Clint Hill. So was Stone trying to hide the smoking gun evidence? In the real Zapruder frames when Jackie is grabbing the scull piece or brain matter on the trunk witnessed by SS Clint Hill, Kennedy is leaning down facing the floor at those frames and the real Zapruder frames from 371 to 384 enlarged a bit show the blow out in the back of the head seen by all the Parkland doctors including the grey brain matter in the wound. Anyone can check that out. v4p8ab.jpg
My Ohio State ROTC buddy, Phil Ochs wanted me to help him investigate the plot to kill JFK months before Dallas and subsequently I was set up by the CIA to investigate the plot which used part of the Hollywood Hootenanny tour to secretly move operators around the South from Nov 1st until the Tour ended that day in Dallas and we got back to LA Sunday night. Below is my comment on newly released document https://www.rt.com/uk/407926-cambridge-reporter-jfk-documents/#.WfTDOoat6x0.facebook
“OK, I did not make the call but the FBI/CIA knew that I knew about the plot and is the reason, near Houston I was refused to get back on the musicians bus soon after the shooting and forced onto the extra shadow bus where at the airport Hoover, the Bushes and Dallas cops with the Oswald double in custody (later shotgunned that night) and other men in suits got on. The David Ferrie impostor with massive freckles sat down in front of me and asked “How’s the Trip?”. Soon he then pointed to George Bush getting on and asked “Do you know him?” Later he asked “Why was British Intelligence asking about you?” I was quiet and knew I could be in police custody too or worse. Maybe the fake Ferrie wanted to get me to open up and started saying he was in some kind of white suit earlier so that he could be taken out of photos… I did not know what he was talking about… never heard of Dealey Plaza, or that my buddy, Phil Ochs was a National Security Observer on the corner of Elm and Houston or how Kennedy was shot or where it happened at that time. This incident will be in my book. And I think I figured out where the David Ferrie impostor in white was on the knoll in Dealey Plaza as part of the “Test That Went Bad”.”
More than the Tour mangers knew I knew about the plot because to get a publicity photo for the Tour we, Jim and Jean were flown from LA to Mobile Alabama on a CIA domestic Tiger Airline DC3 type plane. How many know that there was a CIA domestic division or two?
More about Phil Ochs who also I have photo of him as National Security Observer on the corner of Elm and Houston, Dealey Plaza as the motorcade turns left just before the shots. http://jfkcountercoup.blogspot.com/2013/05/phil-ochs-at-dealey-plaza.html I am still investigating like I reported to the Tampa FBI headquarters in 93.
Love and Peace
Mr Glover you need to make sure when your book is released to come back and post something on this comment board to let us all know the details, so as we, or I, may obtain a copy for my reading exercise.
I got turned on to Phil Ochs back in 1970 while serving in the the US Navy. I have Ochs albums, and recently I downloaded his music off of ITunes. A song of his which often swirls around in my head is ‘Flower Lady’. ‘And nobodies buying flowers from the Flower Lady’, is beautiful and haunting melody all at the same time. I always thought Ochs sounded like the hip kid who performed in the high school musical, but that he went off script abid to get even cooler, and his message was one of questioning the very establishment which had raised him. Ochs was a sign of our sixties generation, and I don’t think most young people today realize just how influential Phil Ochs actually was to the ‘Let there be Peace’ movement of our younger days.
I hope I didn’t say anything to upset you Mr Glover, and please do keep us informed of your book. Joe
Thank You Joe Tedesky. I will try and keep you and Consortium news updated about my book. I am on Facebook with a lot of this and other stuff… https://www.facebook.com/jim.glover.5815 And have been getting encouragement from researcher Bill Simpich about getting a web site too so I may have both by next year. Here is my Jim and Jean version of Phil Och’s Rhythms of Revolution with some neat visuals someone added. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOC6dOuEwjw&feature=share
BRAVO!
Correction My report to the Tampa FBI was August 1991 not 93.
Mr. McGovern speaks of Obama’s “fear” of the CIA. The bloggers I read have convinced me that it’s highly likely BHO was a CIA recruit at a very early age, and that was what greased the skids for him at every stage of his career.
Now Trump probably actually is afraid, and for good reason.
No he is not afraid. Why? He does what he is told
I also think it is likely that BHO was a CIA asset from the get-go.
Like his mom.
Both Barak’s father (Kenya) and step-father (Indonesia) came to Hawaii to study. It is hard to imagine that they could have been granted visas, unless they were fully vetted, (or even recruited) by the US State Dept.
And who trotted out Obama (seemingly from out of nowhere) in 2008 to run against the front-runner, Billious Hillary?
Why “The Cuban Game,” if Castro was CIA? Must prove to me he wasn’t CIA!
Castro was not CIA. What he did was to charm the rancid criminals. He took money from the mob, who gave it to him willingly and then kicked them out of the country and closed all gambling casinos.
The US initially supported Castro. That is until they realized they had been had.
I urge again those who have not read the two outstanding books on the Dulles brothers to do so at the first opportunity. In it you see how the underlying power behind the US Empire manipulates presidents to do their bidding, Eisenhower was hardly an exception as the Dulles brothers lead him into slaughtering across the globe just as the CIA/NSA do today. Eisenhower was a general for cryin’ out loud, an insider who know what was up and yet he allowed the Dulles brothers, on behalf of Imperial commercial interests, to slaughter by the millions.
The Brothers: John Foster Dulles, Allen Dulles, and Their Secret World War
The Devil’s Chessboard: Allen Dulles, the CIA, and the Rise of America’s Secret Government
One can hardly conclude other than Allan Dulles was involved and probably who ordered the assassination of JFK for disobedience in Cuba.
Also read Steven Kinszrs book: The Brothers. Much to add to the story
I have ordered from the library and will read.
And I urge others to read JFK and the Unspeakable.
FBI files on MLK’s assassination from 1967 are also still secret/classified. William Pepper, the King family attny won a civil trial verdict that held the US govt. was likely responsible for MLK’s murder. Pepper found witnesses saying the FBI had put the plot together. COINTELPRO hearings in the ’70s revealed that the FBI had sent a 1963 letter to King demanding that he commit suicide. Yet the FBI handled “the case” and its files are still classified for national security…
Pepper is now researching the death of Robert Kennedy. Stay tuned.
Thank you Danny Weil. William Pepper, like Mark Lane is an American Treasure.
Josh Stern –
I hope that you and yours are well.
What the civil trial proved, and the jury found in favor of, was that a conspiracy involving local individuals, local and state law enforcement, the FBI and the U.S. military were involved in a conspiracy to assassinate Dr. King and frame James Earl Ray for the crime.
Notably, a U.S. Army intelligence unit was on the roof of a fire station overlooking the crime scene throughout the day of the assassination.
Perhaps even more notable is that Dr. King was alive when he made it to the hospital and died, not from his gunshot wound, but from suffocation, after being smothered with a pillow while on the operating table.
Only one reporter covered the 1999 civil case in Memphis and he was fired for refusing to not cover it.
Yet another reason to not stand for the national anthem.
In truth and for justice,
John W. Wright
The stench of america can be detected all over the planet
Oswald travelled to the Soviet Union at a time when both the CIA and the military were running false defector programs to that country. Oswald’s Naval Intelligence file was destroyed before any investigator could look at it. Later, Oswald popped up in New Orleans to create a one-man Fair Play for Cuba outfit at a time when both the FBI and CIA had active programs to disrupt that organization. The CIA’s David Phillips was running its FPCC disruption campaign, and he was deeply connected with the CIA’s Mexico City office which was central to the oddly incomplete picture of Oswald’s alleged visit to that city just weeks before the assassination. False stories connecting Oswald to Cuba were prevalent after the assassination, and the story-tellers all connected back to Phillips. Many of the still-sealed CIA documents involve persons connected to Mexico City and related Cuban operations.
This information doesn’t “solve” the case, but it does highlight areas any honest investigation of the assassination would want to clarify. Powerful blocs within the government have worked assiduously to ensure such clarification would never happen, The mainstream media has done its part – for over five decades now – to brand anyone interested in clarification as mentally deficient. It has been left to citizens outside of the government and establishment structures to lobby, investigate, and clarify as best they can – a remarkable effort to date. The killers of JFK may not have been identified, but that the Emperor has no clothes is obvious.
No, Oswald was never in Mexico. Read Peter Dale Scott’s book: Oswald, Mexico and Deep Politics.
After studying how Oswald conducted his self in New Orleans, as with his outrageously loud displays of activism for Communism, that his actions don’t look anything like what a spy should have been doing to represent Russian convert interest. I seriously don’t think a Russian handler at that time would have approved of Oswald’s performance. I do believe that Oswald’s defection to Russia was a U.S. Government undercover spy program, and I don’t believe the Russians allowed themselves to get compromised with this silly defection program. So Oswald was brought back to his homeland with a new mission to perform, only this new mission’s goal was not even to be known unto Oswald, and thus the presidential coup was in play. I mean for crying out loud even Bobby Kennedy didn’t have the sense to see through the Operation Mongoose betrayal.
Danny and Joe,
Impersonating Oswald has been described thoroughly in this article, for those who don’t want to buy books on the subject.
http://22november1963.org.uk/a-little-incident-in-mexico-city
The article has been available for years and years (no need to wait for disclosures of the archived documents). Why is it not discussed more often? This info is crucial in understanding that the lone gunman theory is complete rubbish.
A few months ago I saw a documentary (by CIA) “Hunting Oswald”. Done in the same style as “Hunting Hitler”, which was rather entertaining and even felt like truthful, with plenty of circumstantial evidence on Hitler’s possible escape to South America. But Oswald story was absolutely made in propaganda purposes, presenting Oswald’s strange behaviour in Mexico city as evidence of his guilt. He is claimed to have shouted “I’ll kill Kennedy for this!” when Cubans refused him a visa. CIA saw this as a clear motive for murder, when it is just a poor theatrical performance.
There is plenty of photos and recordings of phone calls, which proved definitely that this was not Oswald, but an impersonator.
The effect on LBJ was clear – he had to instruct the Warren commission to point to Oswald as the guilty one, to avoid a possible major war.
Another question – Danny, you mentioned research being done on Robert Kennedy’s murder. Why so late? Why didn’t anyone connect the dots between the interesting phenomena that all prominent male politicians bearing the Kennedy name, were hindered from trying to become president? The “accident” which smeared Ted K’s name well enough to make a serious hinder for presidency, can just as well been orchestrated. How? Look, the involved organizations have a long tradition in “fixing” things, so that they look natural. John Jr was the last victim, although his death (plane crash) has also been added to Clinton body count list. Who knows?
All True, and excellent questions Lisa. My hope is that they will soon be answered. Many Thanks.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tI94noIhX2k
At around the 3:20 mark on the youtube audio of J Edgar Hoover speaking with LBJ on the phone, you will hear Hoover make mention of the Mexico City sighting of Oswald as it being hard to pin down due to the FBI had conclusive proof that Oswald was in New Orleans at that particular time…hear the doubt of Oswald’s supposed visit to the Cuban Embassy in Mexico City straight from the mouth of J Edgar himself.
Can anybody here vouch for or support the (probable) veracity, of Lucien Sarti being the actual gunman? (I’m also supportive of any reasonable and credible refutations to this, as well.)
“jfk to 9/11 ; everythings a rich mans trick” , says 12 potential gunmen and places them–it allows for surety of hit and for uncertainty re hitman — also explains prompt uninspected teardown and rebuild of the car , (bullet holes never counted nor documented.)
JFK – WHY HE DIED
*A) Jim Garrison: I never realized Kennedy was so dangerous to the establishment. Is that why?
X: Well that’s the real question, isn’t it? Why? The how and the who is just scenery for the public. Oswald, Ruby, Cuba, the Mafia. Keeps ’em guessing like some kind of parlor game, prevents ’em from asking the most important question, why?
*A) Why was Kennedy killed?
*B) Who benefited?
*C) Who has the power to cover it up?
///
*A) Mr. President, my people have the right to exist, both in Israel and wherever they may live, and this existence is in danger.

*B) Once the trauma of Kennedy’s assassination in November 1963 began to wear off and Johnson settled in as president, the relationship between the U.S. and Israel quickly soared to new heights. In The Bomb in the Basement, his history of Israel’s procurement of nuclear weapons, Israeli author Michael Karpin writes that “as soon as [Johnson] entered the White House the pressure on Israel on the [nuclear] issue ceased.”

I can’t help it, but when ever Israel’s name comes up in regard to the JFK assassination I automatically think of Meyer Lansky. It is a well known fact among us who believe that John Kennedy was taken out with help from the Mob, that Lansky who’s name never gets mentioned in the assassination cast of characters, could have at least had a great deal of detailed knowledge of the inner actions of the plot. So, I surmise that possibly Lansky who had loss a great deal to Castro with Cuba, and Meyer being a good friend, if not one himself, briefed the Zionist, and would have at least shared the inside coup knowledge with the Israeli government, or at least parts of the Israeli government, to give the Israeli’s the back mail ammunition they would need to hold over LBJ’s head. Stop for a moment, and consider what you would rather prefer, killing the president, or knowing who did what? I also wonder to if this, among a few other things that went down between LBJ and Israel, if this could have been the real reason the Attack on the USS Liberty had been the silencing dictate of why the USS Liberty crew was made to submit to a gag order, and thus the Liberty Crew was forced to sit on the shelf with the JFK conspiracy fan club?
America will never be that wonderful people orientated government we all wish it to be, until American’s are made aware of what all this government of ours has done through out all these years. The saying goes, ‘and the truth will set you free’, and with that we Americans are doomed to a few life times of confinement. Here again, even if you never liked John F Kennedy, what should get under your skin and unnerve you, is how badly you have been lied to about a sitting presidents awful death. We Americans like to put ourselves above the Third World Dictatorships, well consider this, we Americans do the same thing as what we despise but only we insist on doing it bigger, as this is the American Way.
I agree, re Lansky.
He has remained under the radar all these years, but is an obvious “dot” that connects other “dots.”
See mine, above.
Remember, this is me talking about what I think about Lansky’s involvement. Although the story goes Meyer Lansky had some pretty revealing photos of J Edgar Hoover, and black mail wasn’t out of the question.
Lansky was the head of the National Crime Syndicate. The mafia reported to Lansky.
Yes, certainly he lost a great deal when Havana went to Castro and Castro threw the mobsters out. Castro was smart. Lansky supported Castro with guns and weapons, this also was the role of Ruby. ruby ran weapons for Lansky and Trafficante.
Read the book by Messick, it is called ‘Lansky’. Messick killed the deal with Israel which is why Lansky was never given asylum.
Also, Lansky branched out in the Carribean once Cuba was taken from the National Crime Syndicate. He was involved with Dewey in starting the Mary Carter Paint Company. Yes, a paint company with 100 locations. It was a front for the CIA. The company changed its name once the Bahamas was captured by the mob. They changed it to Resorts International.
In 1987, Trump bought Resorts International. There is a Playboy article which I cannot find that goes into this, 1967 I think it was written. Resorts International has sued everybody over their connections with the mob.
You are right Danny, there was a lot of overlap between Lansky having a relationship of superiority over Trafficante, as the Deep State needing to answer to its superiors such as getting the go ahead from the likes of Richard Mellon Scaife, and, or especially the rogue spooks receiving the green light from David Rockefeller. Everybody answers to somebody.
I think it significant that despite the Ruby/Lansky connection and the ridiculous motive given by the amoral Ruby (“to spare the widow”) – no mainstream agency or publication has even touched on this aspect (the dog that didn’t bark?). Ben Gurion’s behavior preceding and after the assassination is also interesting, as is that of key Zionists such as Arlen Specter.
Personally, I was astonished to find that Johnson, far from being the “Ten gallon hat Texan” of public image, was groomed by Zionists and a deeply committed one himself.
There is more than enough hard evidence to at least cause speculation of Zionist involvement yet no mention is made of it – even in the plethora of articles inspired by this latest flurry of interest.
One possible mistake being made is trying to affix a single motive. Nothing prevents a confluence of “deep state’, mob and Zionist interests being jointly responsible. Zionism, with its known ties to the former two could well be the “glue” that held both the conspiracy and the cover-up together.
If the Zionist were to have played a big part, I would suspect that they may have had all the right people in all the right places such as in the publishing world, and the radio/tv media of its day. A complying media is worth a thousand aircraft carriers and attack helicopters all combined. I think it was the Saker who said that we are currently fighting WWIII and 88% of the battle is to be found in the media. Carl Bernstein wrote a very revealing article sometime ago speaking to the press media’s longtime involvement in the CIA message business. With the control of the media the constant narrative could be set for the next one hundred years.
Yes, it is interesting to consider that Israel is the U.S.’s only ally in The Middle East whereas prior to The State of Israel coming into existence the U.S. had no enemies in The Middle East.
Jim Douglass’ book the ‘Unspeakable’ is a well written and informative tome, even endorsed by Robert Kennedy Junior. A word search of Douglass’ ‘Unspeakable’ for the term “State of Israel” reveals no occurrences. But the name “Lee Israel” does show up a dozen times or more in the footnotes in relation to Dorothy Kilgallen. Kilgallen had an 8 minute interview with Jack Ruby, which was never printed before she died. In 2013 Jack Ruby’s rabbi was interviewed.
http://forward.com/news/187793/lee-harvey-oswalds-killer-jack-ruby-came-from-stro/
The rabbi reported when Jack Ruby was asked why he killed Oswald, Jack Ruby told the rabbi, “I did it for the Jewish people”.
Kennedy’s threat to Ben Gurion to withhold support unless the US government could inspect Israel’s Dimona nuclear weapons facility was seen by the Israeli leadership as an existential threat to the state of Israel. Removing the threat occurred in Dallas on November 22nd 1963.

This is the Unspeakable.
Ray McGovern’s columns are always worth reading and especially interesting. He raises an interesting point about what it might take to be the US President, and to pursue responsible, sane policies. To be “fit” in this regard it is necessary to be able to stand up to “deep state” power brokers like the CIA and the military — a tall order indeed.
The US presidents have little if any power. They are figureheads designed to make you believe that they are in control. They are not
It’s all relative, but I agree with the general premise of your point. The office of the POTUS has a greater lever than almost any other entity (almost), but very little actual autonomy compared to that prescribed by law.
It’s always interesting to understand who has the most to gain from these intelligence operations – financiers and the heads of multi-billion dollar companies and contractor agencies are among them, I’m sure
Danny Weil –
I hope that you and yours are well.
On the morning of September 11th, 2001, sometime after 10am, pResident George W. Bush declared a “State of Emergency” and instituted the “Continuity of Government” (CoG) program which was originally created in the 1950’s to insure government functioning in case of nuclear war. It was then carefully evolved to be much more encompassing and designated for use in any “national emergency”, which a great deal of modification being done by Cheney and Rumsfeld over two decades.
The current CoG policy is defined in National Security Policy Directive 51 (although it may have been modified in secret since).
Recall that VP Cheney disappeared from public view for a significant period of time following the September 11th, 2001 False Flag. He was undoubtedly assuming direct control of the CoG program he had spent decades creating.
Originally part of FEMA, CoG is now carefully hidden within the Department of Homeland Security, which subsumed FEMA when the new department was created in November of 2002.
Once instituted, CoG suspends the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
The last publicly available version of it required Congressional review every ninety days. To date, it has never been reviewed.
George W. Bush renewed the “State of Emergency” about every two years throughout the remainder of his tenure in office.
Following his inauguration ceremony in January of 2009, President Obama was taken directly to the White House to sign several documents, one of which was the continuation of the “State of Emergency”. He also periodically signed renewals of said “State of Emergency” throughout his tenure.
During the Obama years a few brave Congressmen inquired about CoG in relevant committee hearings. They were explicitly told to mind their own business.
Following his inauguration ceremony this past January, President Trump was also immediately taken directly to the White House to sign several documents, again one of which was the continuation of the “State of Emergency”.
This is all public record and verifiable.
The questions many of us who are paying very close attention have is: Has the Constitution been suspended and who is actually running the country?
Until we get concrete answers to these two questions, it is reasonable to assume that the Constitution has been nullified and a faction of the Anglo-American Deep State has taken complete control of the United States of America. Thus, the political theater in Washington D.C. is just that, pure political theater.
Please see the excellent work of Peter Dale Scott for more detail on CoG.
A personal aside: While traveling through the Denver International Airport, in March of 2011, the TSA and Denver police attempted to arrest me. After being handcuffed, I pointed out that I had done nothing illegal and that I had rights. The senior TSA agent responded by saying “No sir, you are in a Federal Protection Area and HAVE NO RIGHTS”. The senior Denver policeman, realizing that I had, in fact, done nothing warranting arrest then attempted to provoke me to resist arrest, which I calmly and humorously avoided. I was then taken to a holding area, interrogated profusely and not allowed to board my scheduled flight. They did, however, allow my checked baggage to fly without me. The TSA then advised the airline I was booked to fly on to ban me from their airline for life. While there is much more to this story, I will leave you with that.
Once home I made a few inquiries and found out that a “Federal Protection Area” can be declared anywhere at anytime and no public notice is required. This facilitates the extraordinary rendition of U.S. citizens within our own country.
The United States of America is now a fully functional fascist state.
One more reason to not stand for the national anthem.

Considering how Hillary’s Neocons are running the U.S.’s foreign policy, it seems to me that she is running the show out of Chappaqua. Trump may have “won” the election, but as far as foreign policy goes, she could easily be calling the shots behind the scenes. Especially considering that Trump ran on no more regime change wars.
It is very interesting how she does appear to be bullet proof when it comes to her being indicted for massive and obvious crimes like Server-gate and the global charity fraud otherwise known as “The Clinton Foundation” etc.
Go to YouTube and watch the latest interviews Lionel Nation (former NY prosecutor and Truth Warrior) has done with Charles Ortel.
Including what appears to be “pay to play” with Uranium One and The Clinton Foundation to the tune of $145 million.
If we ever see “justice” related to Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton and her husband and daughter, NONE of them will ever leave prison for the rest of their lives.
When I graduated from university in 1959 and was contemplating different career choices, my father steered me away from the CIA. He had worked for the OSS, forerunner of the CIA, in Ireland during WWII. Without getting into details, he indicated that the CIA had changed from what the OSS had been, and he hinted that joining it would likely entail serious moral compromises. But he had a hard time believing the Watergate revelations, and he accepted the Warren Commission findings. Ray McGovern makes clear how very serious those moral compromises would have been.
Say amen somebody
Amen.
Is this what happens when gangsters are in control?
—————————————————————————–
January 5, 2017
When Gangsters Are In Control
When gangsters are in control, endless wars slaughter millions of souls
And countries are destroyed by the hit men of the gangster ghouls
The unethical money changers finance their dirty depredations
And corporate cannibals profit from the bloody confrontations
Government by gangsters is now “the rule of law”
And “justice” is in the hands of criminals and outlaws
The language is twisted and debased
To suit these evil demons of the “human race”
Fancy titles and Houses of ill repute
Is where these villains consort and debut
Making “laws” to screw the masses
Yet, people continue to vote for these asses
If there really was “law and order”
These gangsters would be charged with genocide and murder
Instead these war criminals parade on the world stage
When they should be in a big enormous prison cage
They sell arms and weapons to bloody head choppers
They don’t know the meaning of improper
Grovelling and saluting financiers of terrorism
They are in bed with the dictators of barbarism
Such is the sick state of the world today
And much, more could be said, of the gangsters’ way
Evidence abounds of these criminals roles
That’s why we know gangsters are in control

“…gangsters are in control..”
True.
This is why the ignorant and incompetent cowards have infested the US government through and through. And then their progeny is surprised that the thievery is rampant, nothing works, and everything falls apart.
Bravo! I love your poems Stephen – it’s the high voltage truth content that gets me.
If the CIA was set up by Truman to provide him straight honest intelligence.
Who were the operators on the “action” side like Hunt working for?
evelync, in large part they were disaffected Batista Cubans who for business or personal reasons wanted to recover their past in Cuba.
They opposed anybody who might have prevented them from doing that. The more important question is: Who specifically was directing them and Hunt…
Actually, Batista was opposed during the 50’s by the CIA. They wanted Prio. However, he was reinstated by the CIA when Prio turned out to not be what they were looking for.
“who for business or personal reasons wanted to recover their past in Cuba.”
Who lost the most in Cuba?
The Mob.
The Mob totally controlled Cuba and made vast amounts of $$$ there, not only on gambling, but on every activity that took place in Batista’s Cuba. Just like they took a cut of just about every “legitimate” business in the US of A. Very big in the Mob’s Cuba interests was Meyer Lansky. To get an inside look read “I Hear You Paint Houses,” by Frank Sheeran. There have long been speculations as to the role of the Mob in the JFK assassination. Dallas was sort of like “Murder on the Orient Express”: a lot of entities had strong motivation to eliminate Kennedy. Israel/Ben Gurion was one (Kennedy refused to give them nukes and was getting on their case). The Mob was another. Lansky—a very big supporter of Israel—could well have been the connector between the mob and the CIA. These entities divvied up the roles, like any good team players. Masterminded by the CIA, but the Mob also played a part. Someone like Sheeran is interesting because on hind sight he realizes what his little role was. Very likely most of the people who were coordinated to carry off the crime were similarly clueless—including Oswald.
Quite right Lichfield. I’m surprised by your referral to Frank Sheeran because I’ve not been aware of him, but soon I will be…
Thanks.
We are pretty much in the same place Litchfield. I lean to the idea that Israel, maybe through Lansky to some degree, was well aware of the plot to assassinate JFK. In fact the Israeli’s would have had more than likely this knowledge of this evil arrangement, because even then there were qualified Zionist in very important positions in Washington, to the degree of Israel having a first row seat to watch any event they wished to monitor going on in DC. This place of observation is where I would rather be, because in the end your hands are clean, and influence may come easy as you could go through those of who know you know. God you could own the world, if only you could safeguard yourself enough to stay alive, and with Israel’s Mossad among Israel’s many other deadly weapons of protection I would imagine this form of black mail would be easy to pull off with that kind of metal to back you up. Between select Zionist planted in government positions, the ownership of the press and big media, and connections to the Mob, why wouldn’t this scenario seem to be the case with Israel in regard to their use of knowledge of the JFK murder?
This human manpower coverage of all that is important to carry off a successful cover up, could be the same group of characters who keep hidden the truths of 911. I say this, because I honestly believe the Shadow Government/Deep State use JFK among other assassinations like RFK, MLK, as a winning template for how to carry off a fantastic conspiracy, and keep the public confused.
It’s probably the case that The Mob $$$ was “taxed” by the CIA, under threat of destruction if they didn’t go along, so the CIA would have an additional source of off-the-books $$$ to fund USAPs. The Deep State lost big, with the loss of control over Cuba. World-wide drug trade plays the same role, with respectable people involved, fronting for the op. Many nations are involved in this. The Deep State is trans-national, and is the very face of covert Empire, whose oligarchs-in-command do not stand for election; that is for the unwitting puppets, to keep people’s attention away from the REAL ops going on. Greer estimates up to 200 billion$ a year is hovered up for use in USAPs and black ops.
I would suggest Legacy of Ashes: The History of the CIA, by Tim Weiner.
evelync, Danny Weil, Litchfield, Joe, Brad, Tennegon: l imagine a master class at Oxford or Cambridge with Professors Parry and McGovern. Thanks…
The above critics of Ray McGovern’s right on essay add little to the discussion beyond their own intentions to cloud the issue with vague complaints.
Let us not be fooll America is Nothing less than the New Nazi Empire. It gave shelter to many fortunated Hitler’s associates and scientists like Von Braun. The most Dangerous state on planet Earth are the USA. Nobody else ! So Beware !
Let us not forget the Gehlan Organization and Operation Paper Clip. Also should we include the Vatican under the leadership of Pope Pius XII? You may already know this, but David Talbot does talk about Allen Dulles with his desire to recruit these ‘on the lamb’ Nazi’s, because he thought that by his hiring these ex-Hitler spy’s that in and of it self would be enough of a bonus for the U.S. to fighting Stalin’s KGB. While Dulles reasoning made some kind of strategic sense, his trade off of our nation’s ethnics was deplorable. Just think to back then, and then zoom forward here too today, and here once again the U.S. is sponsoring Nazi’s in the Ukraine. Somethings just never change.
Talbot’s book is: “The Devil’s Chessboard: Allen Dulles, the CIA, and the Rise of America’s Secret Government”
For more on Ghelen and Operation Paperclip and more: got to Dave Emory’s site. He is the best Nazi hunter alive.
Thanks Danny I’m always interested in new information to these past crimnal shenanigans of the Shadow Government/Deep State.
(Sigh) is the kindest thing I have to say about this piece, because of its conspiracy theorizing.
With all due respect, how do you feel about the Warren Report?
Warren didn’t even want to be involved. He was told to head the Commission for if not, people would blame Russia and a war would have broken out. Warren was, along with Dulles and Ford, involved in coverup
LBJ blackmailed Warren into taking the commission chair after he’d twice refused it. This per the presidential historian H. W. Brands, whom I heard say he had personally listen to the recording of the conversation that had been made by the Oval Office taping system. He said this during an interview on Book TV 10-15 years ago. LBJ threatened to reveal Warren’s involvement in some incident that had taken place in Mexico decades before.
Now that I think about it, the historian may have been Michael Beschloss.
The US government has laws on its books against conspiracies. It arrests, prosecutes, convicts, and sentences people for crimes of conspiracy. The same goes for the several states. If there are no conspiracies, why is there all this law enforcement? Are conspiracies really the same as unicorns and fire-breathing dragons? If so, all those law enforcement people are psychotics.
why were all the book launches for “the devils chessboard” cancelled? look big picture.
why so many premature deaths of jfk murder eye-witnesses?
why has the archive lost volume 5? (unless you believe they hadnt learned to count back then? 1,2,3,4,6,7?)
why did socrates use pointed questions? work it out!
Ray McGovern makes a cogent argument for why the documents regarding JFK’s assassination are redacted.
I suspect that Truman wasn’t the only ex-president to have misgivings about the Deep State. Eisenhower’s famous farewell address contained the ominous warning”beware of the military-industrial complex”. Regrets or ambivalence about authorizing the Bay of Pigs?
You make an excellent point Bob. There have been many times when I considered to if Eisenhower would have delivered that MIC speech any sooner than 1/17/61, that any earlier attempt to expose the truth about the rising concern of the MIC would have earned Ike a bullet for his disclosure.
Truman called America: The American Gestapo. You can search it. He knew but he was part of the whole thing. He got elected due to his connections with the mob.
According to Oliver Stone Kennedy refused to coöperate with a CIA plan (time after de Bay of Pigs disaster) to bring down a passenger’s plane, and blame Fidel Castro for it. That could olso be one of the reasons CIA disliked Kennedy
Operation Northwoods.
Not just the Bay of Pigs. Eisenhower also authorized overthrowing the governments of Iran and Guatemala, setting in motion decades of civil war, human rights abuses and blowback for US foreign policy. I’m sure Eisenhower had lots of regrets.
I believe Trump is learning that he cannot oppose: “The Imposition of a New World Order.” That has been helped by puppet politicians. hence he MUST get with the program, or else. Therefore the question must be asked: “Is There An Open Conspiracy to Control the World’?
[More info on this at link below]

You actually think Trump really wanted to release documents?
Will Trump be releasing all the files now? See: https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/924382514613030912
The handling of Truman’s op/ed is telling. For a guy who was supposedly a very good analyst, McGovern’s inability to discern the who, what and why of JFK’s assassination shows his limitations. And his nonchalance attitude regarding the fact that he knew of the CIA’s criminal activities at the outset of his career with it still render him an untrustworthy messenger for me. Too bad McGovern didn’t point his readers to this excellent find by Tyler Durden regarding the bullet hole in JFK’s limo’s windshield, and existence of the DVD documentation and why it differs from what you’re allowed to see on YouTube, http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/48105.htm
The entire 1947 National Security Act is unconstitutional as it creates an unaccountable power center capable of controlling the national government through its criminal aspects, which were already ongoing prior to its inception. Both Truman and Eisenhower created criminal organizations, only to warn the populous about them when it was far too late–Truman opened the door, but Ike filled the Hall and ushered in the Military Industrial Congressional Complex that includes the CIA.
Karl Sanchez,…he already stated that the operations sector was separated by “turnstiles” and the operative sector was obviously not trusting of their analyst colleagues. There was no “inability to discern” as his suspicions are based on observations and logic and he was not privy to absolute proof of his suspicions.
I agree BobH, and I suspect Karl Sanchez, that the CIA remains divided to this day and garding the past has become an existential pursuit…
@ Bob: “… I suspect Karl Sanchez, that the CIA remains divided to this day …”
Change that suspicion to a certainty, Bob. No agency is a monolith. Keep in mind that our “government” has no existence in the physical world. I never changed a government’s diaper; never kissed one; they don’t exist. Governments exist only in our collective imaginations. What does exist is individual human beings each asserting the wholly imaginary power of “government.”
An agency in reality is composed of human beings and each has his or her own goals, alone or in combination. So there be factions, wherever you turn.
Be that as it may, no man/woman is an island unto themselves – the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Instead of visualizing the government as a simple collective of individuals in different niches who each have motives – be they individual or group motives – it’s more constructive to also view this as a dynamic by which they all work together. The government is run much like a business (often times, it is one!) – each pawn moves according to the dictates of superiors, their own motivations, and changes to their environment.
The best and simplest analogy to demonstrate this concept – though perhaps too simplistic – is a professional sports team. Everyone has a role to play, and contributions are needed from multiple people simultaneously. Sure, you may have a superstar or two on the team, and they are often viewed as the team’s most influential personnel. But one can correctly argue that the owner and GM are even more influential still, because in many ways, their decisions have greater leverage in shaping the future of the franchise. This same principle applies to government, but in a far more complicated fashion.
So in sum, the (U.S.) Government is an amorphous highly-fluid, sometimes even ambiguous, entity (with some fixed institutions) who are composed of state entities and persons with various niches of varying importance. No, there is no physical dimensionality to the Government, much like with any other entity – physical capital like buildings/edifices are just spaces in which business could be facilitated.
The power of the government isn’t “imaginary”, either. While I believe that I get how you may arrive at this train of thought, you’re probably looking at this from a different angle. For instance, you cannot compare the power of government to the power of a nuclear weapon. The components of power and influence in an entity are resources, stability, and psychology. Needless to say, the government has all three of these in abundance – even the stability component (at least for now). Lastly, don’t forget about international governance and globalist influences, which have an immeasurable impact as well.
I should probably add, as a sort of ontological point, that the extent to which humanity is able to manipulate the environment – and do so knowingly and consciously – is a demonstration of the power of humanity. By extension, any entities/institutions that have great influence over these things, or how these things happen, is inherently powerful.
Very good point about factions within divisions of agencies of government branches. In secret agencies the factions are political parties engaged in secret wars, even against each other as in Syria. None would be considered to have a “need to know” the operations of the others, and the citizens would not have a “need to know” about any secrets.
For those reasons secret agency operations groups should be prohibited as unconstitutional except during public emergencies, and Congress should establish secret monitoring groups with powers over all secret agencies, as well as monitoring of all officials and their relatives and associates during their lives, to ensure that this is not violated by the executive branch.
Sam F,…”Congress should establish secret monitoring groups with powers over all secret agencies”…if I recall correctly the NSA was set up to be just such an agency and became part of the problem.
Very nice discussion. Many thanks to each of you…
THANKS ,
DEAD ON!
AND THE larger the bureaucracy the more factions.
Yet even today while there remains ways that leaks can satisfy public curiosity while undermining but ot destroying a competing faction.
Thereby the whole remains intact even as power bases shift.
This Nat’l Security System is extremely compartmentalized on a “need to know” basis that is very much abused. There are sometimes-competing/sometimes-cooperating agendas pursued under “Above Top Secret” cover.
Repost from Durant: http://theduran.com/potus-trump-has-fires-back-at-mueller-witch-hunt-charges-against-paul-manafort/
“Mueller should be the one indicted. Its an absolute travesty that the man who led the FBI in “aggressive deception” (in the carefully chosen words of former Senator Bob Graham) to obstruct Congressional investigations into the Saudi role in the 9/11 attacks among other crimes should be in charge of “investigating” anyone – while the fake media, in unison, proclaims him as respectable and impartial. See especially Barbara Boyd, “Robert Mueller is an Amoral Legal Assassin”. And see Andrew Cockburn’s interview on the Scott Horton Show regarding the Saudi support network for the 9/11 hijackers in San Diego on some of the specific activities that Mueller was aggressively attempting to prevent becoming known. Sibel Edmonds (at Newsbud) has also weighed in on Mueller’s role in protecting the Turkish Islamist Fetullah Gulen.”
Mueller – Always incompetent. Always opportunistic. Always treasonous.
Anna, thank you for your excellent contributions! Maybe you could recommend or even start a page.
the handling of Talbot’s book, “The Devils Chessboard” (all book launches cancelled) indicates it touched a nerve and that the nerve was connected to a big powerful organism, still, thats 52 years after the splintering of democracy into the winds of terror
great article by R Mcgovern,
to cut to the chase. there exist of documentary “Marita Lorenz, former mistress of Fidel Castro”
part is in German with english subtitles. other parts are in english. You see Lee Harvey Oswald coming out of
a car with CIA operatives and Cuban exile occupants in the back seat. They are going on a trip
from New Orleans to Houston about 1 week previous to the day Kennedy was assassinated.
that tape was rented to a film rental location. I went back a few weeks later to buy it and they said the copy was corrupted and not available. If anybody can find that tape, it has enough info that leaves no doubt
I am also surprised that Marita Lorenz is still living, as they tried to assassinate her a few times without
success.
An interesting and informative article. Thank you Ray as usual.
Depressing and chronic absence of truth and transparency from all branches of government leads to an unhappy and destabilized society.
The one thing Trump had going for him (in my opinion) was that that he was not a politician. There might still be some mileage in this thought and Ray could be mistaken in his conclusion. J. Hornberger has an interesting take on this:
https://www.fff.org/2017/10/27/jfk-cover-continues/
Trump has proven himself dumb enough to say the right things for wrong reason.
Where are Podesta brothers? Why there is no indictment of these two operatives? – http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-10-30/paul-manafort-asked-surrender-fbi
Where is Awan-Wasserman affair, the most serious violation of the US cybersecurity?
Why there is a dead silence about investigation of Seth Rich death?
The deciders are exposed and they still are in disbelief that their stupid nakedness is on display.
Like a rotten fabric, everything is falling apart.
Did anyone see Tucker Carlson a few nights ago?
He read a cease and desist letter from the law firm representing The Podesta lobbying group which threatened FOX news and Carlson telling them to stop the negative coverage of Tony Podesta etc.
Of loved how Tucker outed them and basically gave them the middle finger salute.
Hi Jonathan: I read the Homberger piece and it was interesting. What I can never understand with all these sensitive documents, why do they archive them when presumably they could just shred them? I bet there won’t be any 9-11 documents to read in fifty years time!!
Me, too, same question.
In the movies the incriminating letter etc. is burned in the fireplace, and the audience watches helplessly as the only piece of evidence goes up in smoke . . .
Ditto with the “real” will.
people destroy incriminating documents.
Why would the CIA or anyone even keep anything incriminating?
And why is the CIA the agency that has control of these documents in the first place?
Why not the Pentagon, or the Library of Congress, or some agency that specializes in maintaining archives? I mean, where are the CIA-held docs? IN someone’s file cabinet? In a drawer? In the school supply closet? I would really like to get a clear picture of the physical reality and location of the documents.
Volume 5 went missing years ago, yes, the details, connections and background of L.H.Oswald

I hope that you and yours are well.
One of the particularly peculiar things about sociopaths is their obsession with documentation. This is undoubtedly a manifestation of their OCD control freak nature. Said documentation also facilitates the maintenance of their ever-growing spider web of lies.
Most normal, empathetic human beings cannot conceive of the mentality and premeditation required to operate in such a way.
I once dated an a nearly complete sociopath. She took copious notes on every conversation we had and meticulously documented everything she could find out about me in order to lure me into marriage. It was only due to her lack of complete discipline that her psychopathic tendencies revealed her true nature and I avoided being caught in her trap. Her next target was not so lucky ( I was actually called to testify against her after she ruined the poor guy and he took her to court).
Never forget that humans are inherently irrational beings, anyone who is entirely rational is either from another planet (Vulcan, perhaps?) or is a sociopath.
Sociopaths are the quintessential control freaks and always seek positions of power. Thus, they form alliances with each other in the creation of deep state factions, with the most skilled at feigning empathy assuming public positions of power.
In truth and for justice,
John W. Wright
Jonathan, excellent link that adds to the dialogue and seems to me to be well thought out and accurate as opposed to disinformation. I hope that Jacob G. Hornberger is correct in his assumptions…
The US – by the bankers for the bankers: http://turcopolier.typepad.com/sic_semper_tyrannis/2017/10/harper-a-banker-from-hsbc-going-to-jail.html
“In a novel civil case in Federal court in Texas, HSBC has been sued by the families of American government officials brutally killed by the Mexican drug cartels, charging that the bank was complicit in the murders under US anti-terrorism laws, because they laundered the money used to pay the assassins. Evidence presented in Court in that case shows a depth of collusion between the bank and the cartels that is mind blowing. The attorney for the plaintiffs in that case is a former Federal Prosecutor, Richard Elias, who quit the DOJ after he found evidence of massive and willful fraud by Citibank mortgage bankers only to see his higher-ups in Washington cut a deferred prosecution and civil fine deal under the Holder Rule.
Not surprisingly, the US mainstream media (MSM) has barely covered the Johnson case. Not one major newspaper gave it frontpage coverage. Bloomberg New’s legal team did report on the court ruling–and on the panic is has caused in board rooms and trading desks at the big Wall Street and London banks.
While it is too soon to say that the Johnson conviction opens a new era in which bankers at big TBTF institutions are going to be held accountable for their criminal actions–usually targeted against their own customers–the case is a hopeful sign that the playing field is getting a little more level.”
Put the boards of directors of HSBC to prison for 30 years, with total condiscation of their assets to pay for the lost lifes and low-enforcement efforts. They all are mega-thieves.

That was then, now we have much more stable people in our ranks such as Lt. Col. Ralph Peters and Gen. Breedlove.
There are obviously no national security issues after 50yrs+. The CIA just wants to hide their buffoonery and incompetence from the public but would rather like to do their favorite trick of selective leaks as in the Oswald visit of a KGB guy in Mexico. They will leave out the part where it was incidental but that creates a nice little insinuation that the Russians were behind it without having to actually say so.
Excellent!
Another great contribution from Mr. McGovern explaining the significance of the Kennedy document hold-up and the reality of power in the yankee imperium which was the US republic up until the spymasters took over real power.
Yes, an excellent article. It is very odd that any documents need be withheld after 54 years to protect anyone then involved.
It seems unlikely that a president could be “intimidated” by secret agencies, when he can easily put out the word on any rogues by many means, and purge them by any or all of numerous agencies. More likely he is surrounded by and “under the thumb” of “advisors” and “experts” controlled by the 2000-strong NSC and has no understanding of how to seek or set up alternative sources.
But then perhaps I assume that anyone in high office would have the principles and courage to resist personal threats: that may simply be untrue.
Possibly JFK did not realize what the personal threat might be until too late.
Yes, he and RFK & MLK may have been test canaries, but future leaders can be well prepared for coup attempts. Of course take-downs by oligarchy can be suppressed by their mass media, but a candidate’s shadow administration and party can be prepared to publicize coup threats.
Another possibility is the double or mirror image of the president, who might make public appearances without speeches in less secure areas, and even occupy the show offices, while the real candidate lives in bomb shelters or in remote areas and gets the real work done.
SamF –
I hope that you and yours are well.
The deep state doesn’t assassinate public figures as “test canaries” as they endeavor to keep their machinations out of the spotlight. High profile political assassinations are a last resort, when all other options are ineffective or as part of a war-inducing false flag.(e.g.WWI).
JFK posed a direct threat to several key deep state factions..
RFK posed both indirect and direct threats to the deep state, primarily flowing from the assassination of his brother..
MLK, Jr. became a direct threat to the deep state when he shifted his focus from civil rights to anti-imperialism and peace.
Johnson was simply not up to the job and removed himself from active participation with the deep state.
Nixon made the mistake of taking on one of the key factions within the Anglo-American deep state and was set-up for impeachment, but chose to resign first. His increasing instability also aroused concern within deep state circles.
Ford was an easily controlled temporary stooge for the deep state.
Carter was a necessary bit of theater to maintain the fiction of American democracy, but proved to be too independent and was set-up for removal by the deep state.
Reagan was an affable, but not terribly bright, hired front-man for the deep state.
G.H.W. Bush is a scion of an Anglo-American Deep State family, but was unwilling to complete his tasks and risk too much exposure and/or the timing of certain deep state plans seems to have been delayed.
Clinton was corrupted by the deep state while governor of Arkansas. Like Carter, he was used to maintain the fiction of American democracy while bringing the Democratic party under near complete control of the deep state and advancing several deep state projects.
G.W. Bush was raised and groomed for a decades long deep state project.
Obama was also raised and groomed to advance said deep state project while maintaining the fiction of American democracy. He is the most successful political psyop in world history to date.
Trump is either a stooge for the deep state or is attempting a bizarre high-wire act in a desperate attempt to make a deal with a faction within the deep state in order to insure his family’s survival of the coming U.S. economic catastrophe. The present massive push back from other deep state factions leads me to believe the latter is more likely, but American political theater being what it is, it could well be the former. Time will tell and we don’t have long to wait.
Please carefully consider who surrounds American presidents at all times and everywhere. Who do they actually work for? What have they clearly done and not done in the past?
In truth and for justice,
John W. Wright
Yes, of course the dark state “doesn’t assassinate public figures as ‘test canaries'” but the 1960s assassinations were tests in the sense of novelties that forced new precautions. So as noted it now seems “unlikely that a president could be ‘intimidated’ by secret agencies” if such precautions are taken. Which does not meant that such precautions are taken, or that such a threat would be ineffective in coercing some targets.
I am studying Talbot’s “The Devil’s Chessboard” on the Dulles brothers’ machinations and Allen Dulles’ potential involvement in the JFK assassination, which appears to be very possible given his motives and actions, but as yet unproven.
On the other hand, purging the head of the CIA did not turn out well for Kennedy.
way too long of an article. Could not find what it is that has been kept out of the release.
And that is how the gate keepers for the establishment do things.
They cloud the issues with lots of inconsequential and we hang in there just hoping for a ray of light. Only to find we are in some I’m smoke screen.
Now think, did you read any can thing intense u50 words you did not already know or surmise?
You await validity that something was wrong, and they dole out tix bits, unconfirmed, while straying to Hua or Viet Nam, so that you wonder if you got on the right bus to get home
There is no such animal as an ex-CIA, once in , always in.
We the Americans know that, but it is same for ,sic ex military officers posing as experts on mediaoutlets.
Both pseudo “ex” are only allowed to nibble some crumbs to pique your interest while never getting to truth.
If he knew what was in the papers that were not released he would have to be a clairvoyant would he not? The subject of the article was the unbridled power of an out of control CIA and FBI, power that even allowed them to murder a sitting President. Now if you did not understand that and or pretended not to understand that then it would appear that you are a stooge of the FBI and CIA. People are being accused of being Russian stooges on much less reasoning.
So far as the article being to long, I found it way to breif, I could have had more it was very interesting indeed.
Its a shame the link that the CIA is operating as the muscle of New York bankers is not made. John Perkins, David Talbot, Stephen Kinzer, Douglas Valentine and Jim Douglas would be starters.
No, Steve Richter, with all due respect, from my view a much appreciated, fascinating article that provides a historical framework (including relevant quotations from historical figures) from which to view these unanswered questions about the murder of our President Kennedy.
Plus the key reference to the analytical book by Douglass.
This is still an unanswered question. And part of the mystery may be – why are these files being kept hidden.
Cheers
Mr. Richter, do grant that it’s hard to know what has been kept out of the release because it’s been kept out of the release.
Actually all the documents including the unreleased ones are listed in the National Archives. Among the unreleased are Oswalds military records and a 32 page report on an interview with his mother back around 1961, plus of course many more
The fact that there are only 200 or so documents remaining that may identify only a handful of the culprits still alive shows how well they have purged effectively all evidence of the culpability..
The Truman piece – “Limit CIA Role to Intelligence” – can be found at the Internet Archive.
https://archive.org/details/LimitCIARoleToIntelligenceByHarrySTruman
Unusual for that site, the only way I could download it was by the JPG format, and even then I had to do one page at a time.
Great find Zachary Smith! I’m looking forward to reading this document.
I think it may also be interesting to learn – and I will try googling it – who
lost property when Castro won.
And if that had anything to do with Hunt’s fury at Kennedy, and Hunt represented the people who lost property, why didn’t they take their
peeves to the International Court?
Wouldn’t that have been a more rational approach instead of dragging
this country down the road of pain and failure for decades?
Wasn’t that pretty myopic and selfish?
Thank you for the information. I was redirected to consortium news and had no trouble downloading.
You really missed the point, Steve!
My own take:
Finally, a pretty clear statement, or clearly stated hypothesis, that ties together the JFK assassination, Truman’s Op-ed, and more recent symptoms of the CIA’s intimidation of elected officials. And a big thank-you to McGovern for highlighting JFK and the Unspeakable: if you read one book about the years leading up to Dallas and then the years following, this is the book to read. Including all of the notes.
Here is another very revealing book—put it together with the JFK and the Unspeakable, and you pretty much have the complete picture: “I Heard You Paint Houses,” by Frank Sheeran. Mainly about Jimmy Hoffa and his relationshiop with the Mob, but also about a lot more—including Dallas, in a kind of Rosenkrantz and Guildernstern way.
“The Devil’s Chessboard,” about Allen Dulles, is a good source. The last quarter of the book is about the Kennedy assassination and the Warren Commission.
That is because the whole release issue is and was a hoax.
Learning about that buried Op Ed by Pres. Truman is huge. Had never heard of it before.
