I guess now we will witness a great “Who done it story”. CN caught me trying to be cute. I left a comment pretty much declaring Puttin is behind the Nord Stream pipeline caper. When I returned “comments were closed”.
Now, I some how feel obligated to admit I have not one fact to support my statement, which clearly is me jumping to a conclusion by making the assumption it was the crazy guy threatening nuclear war.
Nothing like further destabilizing and already volatile situation by adding fuel to the fire, blowing up an underwater pipeline.
Like I’ve said NATO might want to watch what they wish for.
Ukrainian fascism differs from that of the US. Which is worse? Probably the American version. Ukrainian fascism is overt, crude, and violent. That of the US? Covert, subtle and sophisticated, with violence transmogrified as “law”. Both fascism depend on propaganda, which is exceptionalist and exclusivist. But Ukrainian fascism is narrow band, basically excluding everyone without tattoos. American exclusivism is “woke” which means faux inclusivist. However, propaganda always fails when shit hits the fan and people start to suffer.
Thank you, Joe Lauria! It’s like old times when The Backstory helped keep me sane. In those days it did give me some hope a liberal populism might distil out, though it never seemed to be distilling out fast enough. As it is, the “liberal” aspect may fade in whatever mix that’ll pull us out of this mess. If people get smart enough to keep the planet living, “liberal” tragically may end up remembered as a thing having been tricked for a spell [not to say game theory will ever help economics out much]. The word “solidarity” could become useful again?

TPTB should begin to consider if the stories and spins…and acts like putting holes in pipelines…might appear to the world as if, in desperation, the west has moved into a space constructed completely out of contents derived from imagination.
Ukrainian Topics ignored by the Lamestream Corporate Media:
(1) Crimea’s historical pattern of exiting Ukraine;
(2) Western Ukrainian historical pattern of anti-Semitism, hallmarked by the Kiev pogroms after World War 1, in which 100,000 Jews perished; Corporal Hitler was still in a military hospital in Bavaria.
(3) The strong likelihood that in today’s Ukraine, there is no civilian rule;
(4) The competetive trade advantages acquired by India and China over Europe because of the formers’ unlimited supply of discounted Russian energy, and the latter’s inability to access any supplies of energy except at exorbitant prices;
(5) The abject failure of the Zelensky regime to prosecute the open murder by the Azov Battalions, who with police standing by in Odessa, incinerated 47 separatists who had fled to the trade-unions building to escape the Nazis, who fatally objected to their handing out leaflets in the nearby park;
(6) George Washington’s total indifference when he heard in 1784 that Catherine the Great had docked her Russian navy in Crimea, on the Black Sea near Sevastopol.

My grandfather (mother’s side) and his 12 siblings got out of Kiev during the those programs mentioned. They came to America, stopped speaking Russian and assimilated. My uncle had been a Cossack and, according to Mom, still had his uniform hanging in his closet and could do the dance on bended knees with a bottle balanced on his head. My grandfather had the first auto parts store in Iowa and was listed in Iowa’s Who’s Who.
