Fresh off his spectacular show in Washington on Tuesday, the famed musician Roger Waters addressed a rally for the imprisoned WikiLeaks publisher outside the Department of Justice on Wednesday.
Other speakers at the event included Max Blumenthal, editor-in-chief of the Grayzone; Chip Gibbons, journalist and Policy Director at Defending Rights and Dissent; Joe Lauria, editor-in-chief of Consortium News; and independent journalist Sam Husseini, who stated:
“Effectively we’re prisoners too. It’s not just Julian. We’re prisoners because we’re not getting the information we need. Julian’s imprisonment is deeply tied to our own. It’s not just about those Iraqi journalists who were targeted; it’s not just simply Julian; it’s about the possibility of us getting truth about every issue under the sun”.
Nothing happens unless speech is accompanied by physical actions. Storm the Bastille.
Time for storming the British bastille.
Great speeches by Joe Lauria, Roger Waters, Max Blumenthal and last not least Sam Husseini, who provided really interesting details.
Time to move from Hyde Park – figuratively – to bring the message to the mainstream.
Thank you! Free Assange!!
“Free Assange NOW.”
Bravo à Monsieur Waters!
Why does Blumenthal skip over the truth that it’s the Chump(trump) administration that brought charges against Assange in the first place? This is not to excuse Biden/ Garland, but this terrorism against journalism + official charges against Assange started w/Chump——+the alleged assassination attempts orchestrated via Pompeo is very relevant. Why doesn’t Max spit THIS out too? He seems to indicate that ‘the orange guy’ is some kind of fkn victim(?)
Thanks for CN!
Not quite. The charges actually orinated under Obama. Assenge was never going to be forgiven for exposing Hillery Clinton’s speeches to wall street and how the DNC cheated Bernie Sanders out of the Democratic nomination in 2016 among other things. Not defending what the Trump admin did but lets not allow the FBI to continue political herrasrment
