Counter Bush’s Library with Knowledge

As George W. Bush celebrates his new presidential library amid polls showing a rise in his popularity and with talk of his brother Jeb’s presidential run it is crucial that the real history of the Bush Family be understood. So we are extending a special offer on Robert Parry’s remarkable trilogy.

Parry, the investigative reporter who broke many of the Iran-Contra scandal stories for The Associated Press and Newsweek in the 1980s, has assembled the key chapters of the Bush history in three books Secrecy & Privilege, Neck Deep (co-authored with Sam and Nat Parry) and America’s Stolen Narrative. You can get the three books as a package for only $34.

To take advantage of this special offer and to help Consortiumnews.com meet its spring fundraising goal just follow these simple instructions: go to the Web site’s “Donate” button and make a $34 “donation” using Visa, Mastercard or Discover. We will read a donation of that amount as an order for the trilogy.

If your mailing address is the same as your credit card billing address, we will ship the books to that address. If your mailing address is different, just send us an e-mail at [email protected] and we will make the adjustment. For U.S. orders, we will pay for the shipping. (For non-U.S. orders, add $20 to defray the extra cost.)

You can also take advantage of this offer by mailing a check for $34 to The Media Consortium; 2200 Wilson Blvd.; Suite 102-231; Arlington VA 22201. Or you can use Paypal. Our Paypal address is named after our e-mail address: “consortnew @ aol.com.”  Just make sure you include your mailing address in the message.

To buy these three books at their regular price would cost over $70. So this special offer amounts to more than half off. And part of the proceeds will go to keep the investigative news site, Consortiumnews.com, afloat in its 18th year.

Thanks for your support.

I know it’s difficult to control our emotions with W. I worked as a field
director on the very first George H.W. Bush campaign. Here’s the “inside
baseball” on how we ended up with the Bush dynasty, I mean, tragedy.
It revolves around a guy named Richard Allen. At the Republican convention
in 1980, Gerald Ford was going to be picked as Reagan’s running mate.
But Ford said he wanted 50/50 power with Reagan. Reagan, or course, said
no way is that going to happen. Reagan had choices at that point. He didn’t
really care for the “skull and bones” guy Bush and wasn’t going to pick him.
Richard Allen, a campaign aide to Reagan kept pushing Bushs’ name
on Reagan. Reagan said no, Allen was persistent and kept pushing Bush.
Reagan finally said, “Well, Ok, but he has to agree to everything.”
So we can thank Richard Allen for all of this. By the way, you really
haven’t lived until you have witnessed Andy Card running around calling
people light weights. I hope I have stripped off the nice guy veneer
from Andy. That’s the inside baseball on the Bush tragedy. I posted the
    first comment on this story.

Is it possible to get the books in electronic format such as epub or pdf?

Plan to donate and buy the books soon. I am a communications major and
former television reporter. I have also worked in politics as a press
officer to a Massachusetts governor and a field director for a presidential
campaign. Unfortunately, I got a too up-close look at the Bush campaign
in 1980. Your books on the Bushes are right on the money, I’m sure.
Haven’t been to Washington for a while. Would like to drop by and meet
    you guys someday.
