Live from Minnesota’s East Side Freedom Library (ESFL) in St. Paul, a panel of local independent journalists in conversation with Julian Assange’s father and brother, John and Gabriel Shipton, on their nationwide #HomeRun4Julian tour to advocate for the release of Assange, detained in Britain since 2012, and for the Biden administration to drop the U.S. government’s extradition efforts. Tune in at 3 pm EDT, 2 pm Central.

The U.S. tour is sponsored by the Courage Foundation (couragefound.org) which supports whistleblowers and journalists “who risk life or liberty to make significant contributions to the historical record.” ESFL and Women Against Military Madness (WAMM) have come together to host two events which highlight the broader implications that Assange’s prosecution has for global press freedom. The ESFL panel of independent journalists have been engaged in telling the stories of struggles for racial and economic justice. They include Janis Lane-Ewart, Sheila Regan, Petros Haile and Cirien Saadeh.
