Ray McGovern Tells Aaron Maté  Blaming Moscow for Hunter Biden’s Laptop is Russiagate Disinformation

Corporate media suppression of news about Hunter Biden emails bears all the hallmarks of the same Russiagate disinformation we were subjected to for four years, Ray McGovern tells Aaron Maté in this Pushback interview on the GrayZone.

By Aaron Maté
The GrayZone

Media outlets are amplifying the claims of former intelligence officials, including John Brennan and James Clapper, as well as of top Democrats, including Joe Biden and Adam Schiff, that the Hunter Biden laptop revelations are “Russian disinformation.”

They have done so even though no one from the Biden camp has disputed the authenticity of a single leaked email or document, or denied that the laptop belongs to Hunter Biden. Ray McGovern, a former career CIA officer who served as chief of the CIA’s Soviet analysts division and chaired National Intelligence Estimates, discusses the widespread disinformation about “Russian disinformation,” and why it raises new questions about the conduct and claims of the intelligence officials behind Russiagate.

Guest: Ray McGovern. Former longtime CIA officer, who served as chief of the CIA’s Soviet analysts division, chaired National Intelligence Estimates, and prepared the President’s Daily Brief. He is also the co-founder of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity.

A fantastic interview of a person I immense admire for his courage and principles – moderated by one of the best, young journalists this country has to offer. I credit both of them that I did not fall for the “Saddam’s WMD rev 3.0”, aka Russia Gate. (The “Saddam WMD rev 2.0”, if you are interested, was to make people believe that Obama was a peace/anti-war president.) Thank you, I tremendously enjoyed it on GRAYZONE!

But then came the comment on voting. During the last few weeks I, probably like many of you, have been having discussions on the issue with friends and family. And not surprisingly, the decisions I hear cover the entire spectrum…. (a) vote for Biden, (b) vote for Trump, (c) not vote at all, (d) write in a name, e.g. Donald (Duck, I mean), (e) vote for a candidate from one of the minor parties, etc. I respect every decision. It is not only a deeply personal one, depending on individual situation, moral leanings, etc. but also has to do with a larger electoral strategy.

After having said that I’d like to share my personal perspective, while acknowledging that others can and will disagree. I have already voted, and the decision was very simple. The bipartisan policies over the last several decades have been an unbroken chain of war crimes. And Biden can personally be associated with specific actions and decision that, in my opinion, warrant investigations of war crimes. How can I vote for such a person without being complicit in war crimes? Therefore, I voted for the Greens. Beside the war crimes issue, I understand that a vote for the green party can make them eligible for some federal money.

Some of you might consider my stand to be too “extreme”. Therefore, a little background. Before emigrating to the US almost three decades ago, I had lived in Germany for almost two decades. Many people, who know that I had lived in Germany have asked me over the years how a civilized society like the Germans could ever elect Hitler. My answer has always been the same and – with increasing bluntness over time – I have told them that there is nothing special with Germans. Given a similar set of conditions any other people would probably do the same. That’s because for the overwhelming majority of people in any society, individual financial interests always go before morality – especially if the conditions are dire.

I have also pointed out, where it was safe to do so, that people even in this land of the brave would probably act similarly. And finally, since very recently, I have also started to point out that the Germans had at least elected Hitler BEFORE he had committed war crimes. In contrast, Americans have been electing people AFTER they have done things that by all likelihood should be investigated for war crimes. It was definitely the case with Clinton’s, Bush’s and Obama’s reelections. This is true for Biden now.

To add to my above comment – “the road to hell is paved with successive votes for the supposed lesser of the two evil”. And we have arrived at hell!

      Take notice everyone.

Very well put Nathan, Bravo for finding exactly the right words to express your position. One I find rock solid.

All votes counts to someone, especially protest votes.

You have identified a problem that exists here in the “Good Ole’ USA” and has since the end of WWII.

Chalmers Johnson called it “The Sorrows of Empire” as he described in his book of the same name and this is the

result of the MIC paying for the worst intelligence money can buy from the fake U.S. Intelligence talking heads.

Individuals who do great injustice to the “grunts” in the intelligence world who do the real work.

What the irrepressible Ray McGovern manages to illustrate here in his description of events from Barrack Obama

till now is how the National Security Apparatus controls the “dice” in this crap shoot we are living through.

Now everyone needs to journey to the YouTube and watch Beau of the Fifth Column News , aka Justin King.

Find these two videos, “Let’s talk about the supreme court confirmation and power”, Oct 26, 2020 runs 7:45, and “Lets talk about Mitch McConnel’s great fiction”, Oct 27, 2020 which runs 6:22.

The democrats need to watch these videos also and I sent an invite to Sen Dick Durbins office earlier.

Ray is a living national treasure, one honest man who cares about all the rest of us.

Thanks Ray and all at CN.

If it were not for Ray McGovern and Bill Binney plus many more true patriots sharing and informing us with TRUTH, we would not know.

There has been a total a blackout on such matters, Stephen F. Cohen was also dropped by the MSM, really unbelievable.

Thank you Consortium News, and Aaron Mate.

I think the reason Dem Party loyalists still try to sell Russiagate, even after it collapsed under the weight of the facts, is that they have nothing else left to sell. They had sold out every progressive aspect that had once defined the difference between the two ruling parties. The fact that this irresponsible tactic only drove more voters away will, of course, be blamed on Russia.

Putin gave the Clintons $500,000 for a Moscow speech in 2010 when Hillary was Secretary of State. Yelena Baturina gave Hunter Biden $3.5 million in 2014 when his father was VP.

It’s all good if it’s not Trump. “Soft” corruption.

When will the American public wake up and realize you are all being duped?

Consider ALL TV commercials since it was invented?

Our collective middle name is “duped”.

When the American public wakes up it will be another day of more of the same.

Ray confirmed that all of the “Russian disinformation” that was used against Trump after his election was fraud committed by democrats in high offices; he then agreed that calling all of this “Hunter Biden E-mails & laptop photos” more Russian disinformation was FALSE…meaning it’s true and also meaning that Joe Biden is complicit in raking in millions of dollars in graft and payoffs!! THEN he admitted to “holding his nose” as he voted for Biden/Harris as the lessor of two evils!!! What cracked thinking he used in justifying a vote for the criminal is far beyond my reasoning capabilities!

Agree, but by now, I think the only remaining Dem Party loyalists are those who march in lockstep behind the party bosses because they don’t know what else to do.

Well, since both Biden AND Trump are “cracked” and criminal, it’s just one person’s opinion against another. Heads we lose, tails we lose. So pick your poison, just like Ray did. Whatever. Not excited about either of them. Hyper partisanship is destructive and is the continuing reason things NEVER get better, but instead, keep getting worse.

A man is talking with the handyman who’s doing some cosmetic repairs in an apartment he owns. “Sir, if I can be frank,” says the handyman -it’s a little joke between them, since the handyman and the property owner, longtime associates and quite friendly, are both in fact named Frank -, “this a pretty crappy dump you’re renting out here. It’s almost as bad as that other rathole you own over on Sixth and Main.” “Well, Frank,” says the landlord, “I suppose I’ll just have to resign myself to being the lessor of two evils.”

    • October 27, 2020 at 15:50

      Brad,

“Cracked thinking?” It may seem so, but “here’s the deal”.

In the interview with Aaron, I tried to explain why, from a faith perspective, I could not vote for Trump. Those interested can learn more from postings on my website: “Biblical Justice: It’s not what you think”, Jan. 1, 2020; and “What Cardinal Dolan Should Say at the RNC”, Aug. 24, 2020. It has to do with widows, orphans, refugees.

Other factors: with ten grandchildren, we worry about climate warming, arms control, racism.

My decision to admit to my holding-nose vote for Biden was prompted in part by a recent shock I got from an old friend and colleague who took it for granted that I was voting for Trump. At that point transparency became for me a matter of conscience. On the chance there might be others who mistakenly thought that, and might be misled … well I could not in good conscience leave anyone with that impression. I’ve been accused of a lot of things, but ……

      Regards,

      Ray

I think maybe the best trick so far is that securitystate, inc & its enablers in tech, the press & the lege, in blind desperation, are grabbing the same dirt that they used to cover-up their russiagate shenanigans without realizing they’re now uncovering their own behinds as fast as they dig. Talk about asses hung out in the wind. Phew! Who says you can’t be in two places at once?

Stripping Agencies of giving “an assessment” and allow for providing just the raw data.

Would that keep Agencies from creating their own agendas (wagging the dog) so to speak.

I’m deeply disappointed that Ray McGovern voted for Joe Biden. If he believes this corrupt, war-loving, racist sleazebag is the “lesser evil” I have to question his judgment about everything. I have always wondered why he continues to brag about being a CIA agent, I guess it’s not too surprising. I thought he had come over to the light.

Both parties and their candidates are wretched, but are you forgetting the existential nuclear risks which have been exacerbated and magnified by Trump’s decision to walk away from the NPT and START and his policies which have resulted in a serious confrontation with Russia, China and Iran? Unfortunately, it’s not an easy or comfortable choice.

And Trump is “the light?” Ha!

        • October 27, 2020 at 12:30

Not at all. There’s no choice at all. If voting changed anything, it would be illegal. I think Emma Goldman said that and it’s still true today. These farce elections are just a distraction and taking part only perpetuates the charade. It’s sad that Ray McGovern would announce to the world that he has fallen for it.

Is it possible to consider intelligence agencies as a threat to national security ?

If so should they be de-funded?

Putin just came out in support of Biden and attacked Trump. This is major interference by Russia in the US election.
