Consortium News will simulcast live the Resistance TV event at 2 pm EDT, 7 pm BST & 5 am AEDT.
WikiLeaks, founded in 2006 by Julian Assange, has published over 10 million documents with a perfect record of authenticity. That includes the Iraq and Afghan War Logs, Guantanamo Files, and other revelations that exposed government and corporate abuse at the expense of people and the planet. Thursday marks 10 years since WikiLeaks published the Iraq War Logs.
The Resistance Movement lead by former British MP Chris Williamson, will commemorate the 10 year anniversary with an online panel, headed by Williamson, with these other speakers:
Kristinn Hrafnsson, Editor-in-chief of WikiLeaks
Robert Tibbo*, Human Rights Lawyer for Edward Snowden
Dr Deepa Driver, Trade Unionist, Academic
- Unfortunately Dr Tibbo was unable to attend
I have read that it is up to Priti Patel whether Julian’s case can go to appeal or would that mean he would be rapidly put on a plane and dispatched to America forthwith.
If that is true then any sense of any form of justice in this country appears to be completely debased to a point that this country has turned into Trump’s bathmat.
I wonder who will be the next British journalist to be faced with extradition to America. I hope it is a BBC reporter just to serve them right.
Without Corsortium News the story of this travesty of justice would never come to light. Julian Assange would simply be railroaded to the US and he would waste away in prison without the American public knowing anything.
