Julian Assange’s father John Shipton joined CN Live! Thursday night to discuss several developments this week in the case of the imprisoned WikiLeaks publisher.
CN Live! interviewed Julian Assange‘s father, John Shipton, over two days this week on a range of news, including the visit of Australia’s ambassador in Britain to Belmarsh prison to see Shipton’s imprisoned son; a letter from members of Congress to the U.S. attorney general demanding charges be dropped against Assange; and a row in Australia’s parliament over whether the prime minister spoke to President Joe Biden about the case.
Elizabeth Vos, Cathy Vogan and Joe Lauria interviewed John Shipton.
Wonderful interviews. What a man John Shipton is! Julian’s children will be forever proud that they have a hero Dad and a hero Grandfather.
John and his campaign remind me of another brave Australian crusading father, Terry Hicks, who travelled the world and eventually succeeded in having his son, David, brought home from Guantánamo Bay torture camp.
I Absolutely Love You, John Shipton…I can see where Julian inherited is Beautiful Mind…xo
Thank you so much for this interview. It’s wonderful to see Julian’s father so optimistic & in such good spirits. Does wonders for my own.

cathy vogan cnl in london is part of it
Mr. Shipton’s right when he said he should have had that sort of job himself. And Ms.Vogan asked the same question as i did, referring to the legal process. Like Ms. Vos, i too was glad Mr. Shipton was given a warm welcome in the US. “The beginning of the end” indeed.
