The Western press “fell” to a takeover assault by a war profiteering mafia.

“There’s a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.” KEEP IT LIT!
Thankyou Messrs Pilger and Curtis. A real (but not unbelievable) eye-opener into the murky depths of propaganda. I particularly liked Mr Pilger’s description of the BBC: “the most refined propaganda service in the world”. I call them the British BS corporation.
Optimism? A tiny bit, perhaps, but we are, generally speaking and including sometimes thoughtful honest journalists, overwhelmingly obedient Orwellian citizens. And I say that as a retired and usually so-so journalist who rarely believed in the craft because it was/is so obedient. However, I enjoy Consortium News, Middle East Eye, and All Africa news agencies that travel the battered road of truth which the mainstream avoids.
Thank you so much for having John Pilger on your show. I only became aware of his documentaries and journalistic integrity maybe four or five years ago. I don’t remember how that happened, but it definitely didn’t happen by listening to the BBC or CBC (I live in Canada).
Keep up the great work. Integrity in journalism is quite rare these days. The CBC is mostly balanced on local/ Canadian issues, but when it comes to reporting on anything related to the conflict in Ukraine, there is absolutely no reporting on the background cause of this war. And no discussion of a peace deal. I would bet most Canadians/ Americans have no idea about the Minsk accords. I suspect (but prove me wrong CBC), they are not allowed to discuss an end to this useless war, which enriches the pockets of the MIC.
