It also reinforced the point that though we’ve become known for our comprehensive and detailed coverage of the Julian Assange case, there is a lot, lot more to Consortium News.
Assange is a historic figure in a historic case and the importance of the story justifies the coverage we give it. One of our guiding principles is also to fill in the huge gaps in corporate media coverage of various stories, and Assange is just one of them.
We broke ground with our coverage of Russiagate, spearheaded by our late founder Robert Parry, who first extensively corrected the record on Ukraine, a story still being dangerously misreported in the corporate press.
