300 Doctors Implore Australia to Bring Assange Home

Over 300 doctors from around the world have today written to the Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce, imploring him to seek Julian Assange’s immediate release from prison in the U.K. on medical grounds.

Warning of Dangerous Deterioration Following Assange’s Reported Stroke, Doctors Implore Australian Deputy Prime Minister to Intervene

By Doctors For Assange

The letter begins by commending Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce for his recent statements calling for the U.S. extradition request against Julian Assange to be dropped. It continues:

We are concerned that Mr. Assange’s apparent mini stroke [reported in the Daily Mail on 11 December] may be the tip of a medical iceberg. Indeed his symptoms suggest as much. It is therefore imperative that Mr. Assange be released from prison, where his health will otherwise continue to deteriorate and where his complex medical needs cannot be met.” Continued incarceration, the doctors warn, will place Julian Assange’s life at risk.

In appendices to the letter, the doctors have released all former correspondence with the Australian Government – including previously unpublished material – in which they warned of cardiovascular pathology, such as that reported in the Daily Mail.

They write, “perhaps our concerns were previously dismissed by your colleagues as hyperbolic. They are not. On the issue of cardiovascular pathology, we have been proven right. We do not wish to be proven right on the issue of Mr. Assange’s survival.”

The authors note that they had previously cautioned the Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Marise Payne, “should Mr Assange die in a British prison, people will want to know what you, Minister, did to prevent his death.”

In their letter the doctors reject U.S. assurances, accepted by the High Court, that prison conditions in the U.S. would be humane. They note that the U.S. “retains the power to impose Special Administrative Measures on Mr. Assange, and to assign him to ADX Florence, two of the harshest, most brutal prison conditions in the U.S.. Both facilities violate the Convention Against Torture, to which Australia is a party.”

They conclude, “we implore you, as Deputy Prime Minister, to intervene with the U.K. Government to seek Mr Assange’s immediate release on urgent medical grounds. We reiterate that he is an Australian citizen innocent in the eyes of the law, and guilty of and charged with nothing in the U.K.”

Mendacity, the devil, sucks life from the sapiens. Only the exo-sapiens resist. Only the exo-sapiens survive.

Congratulations to the Doctors for Assange! The cruel and vindictive treatment of this courageous man by the US and UK has gone on long enough.

Julian Assange revealed those leaders who had committed war crimes and and violations against human rights. He should be applauded. Instead, he has been languishing in a high security prison which was built the worst sort of criminals.

The fact that the key FBI witness – Sigurdur Thordarson – has admitted he lied about Julian Assange and is now serving time in an Icelandic prison for multiple cases of fraud and embezzlement, sexual solicitation of minors and adults means that Julian has no case to answer. If British law was as fair and the US was democratic as their proponents claim they are, Julian Assange would not have been arrested in the first place.

It is the war criminals and the violators of human rights that should be in Belmarsh Prison – NOT Julian Assange!

Julian Assange, gave us the truth, that the US, wanted to remain hidden!
Watching the US bombing of innocent civilians, while the Pilots sang, “ Bye bye miss American Pie” was shocking and then they bombed, people, running to help!
There is lots of evidence, of the unacceptable choice of the first Magistrate and later, of the US funded spying of Julian in the Ecuadorian Embassy! This evidence alone, should free Julian and we must do everything we can, to free Julian, as, if we let this happen, we will never know the truth about what our Government is doing!

Not only free him, but put the judges and politicians and bureaucrats ( on Sweden, in England, in the USA and definitely in Australia) on trial for corrupt, misleading and criminal practices in dealing with Julian Assange apprehension. NOW,!

So impressive by doctors who really know medical truth of Julian Assange’s condition. He will never receive any medical care
in the U.S. Australia needs to be bombarded by petitions from all over the world as soon as possible to save Assange from a horrible life and death in the worst of U.S. prisons. So sad for a brave truthteller.
