The internet’s oldest independent news site welcomes Chris Hedges, Diana Johnstone, Margaret Kimberley, John Kiriakou, Garland Nixon and Jill Stein to its board of directors. 

 

 

 

 

Consortium News on Wednesday announces six new members to the board of directors of the first online independent news site, founded in 1995 by legendary investigative journalist Robert Parry.

Chris Hedges is a former New York Times Middle East bureau chief who hosts the interview program On Contact and writes a column for Scheer Post

Diana Johnstone is a long-time Paris-based correspondent who for decades has delivered crucial reporting on European politics.

Margaret Kimberley is an editor and columnist at The Black Agenda Report and the author of Prejudential: Black America and the Presidents.

John Kiriakou is a former CIA officer who blew the whistle on the agency’s illegal torture program and is a radio host and columnist for Consortium News.

Garland Nixon is a former Maryland police officer, radio host and TV commentator.

Jill Stein is a long-time activist and former presidential candidate for the U.S. Green Party.
