How is it that it is forgotten that Assange is a human being? A human being that has had the full force of the Obama Administration attempting to extradite and try him on false charges, using the Espionage Act. A human being that thought the law was blind, who believed that he would have sanctuary in the Ecuadorian Embassy, as challenging as that turned out to be. A human being whose every right was denied, the right to privacy, the right to consultation with his attorney in private, the right to be free until tried and proven guilty. To discuss his depression as if he has not been subjected to the most abhorant circumstance under which most would be not only depressed, but both deeply depressed and considering suicide. How is it that Obama and Trump and the US are not on trial for crimes against humanity? for violation of the US Constitution, the Geneva Conventions and Internatioal Law. Why do we allow ourselves to be distracted by the facts: this is a human being who has been incarcerated for a number of years, isolated, and denied any semblance of his rights? It is the US that should be on trial along with those who bow to its power and threats. I am beyond disgusted. I am dismayed for this poor man who only wished to reveal the wrong doings of governments, among them the US, one of the most abusive and powerful in the world whose citizens avoid truth like the plague.
