WATCH: Ellsberg, Hedges, Goodale on Assange Extradition

The Pentagon Papers whistleblower joins the NYT general counsel at the time of that leak, and a Pulitzer Prize winner to discuss the fate of journalism as Julian Assange faces extradition.

The attempt to extradite Julian Assange to the United States for prosecution is a war against freedom of the press and our right to know. If the prosecution of Assange under the Espionage Act occurs, it will define journalism for the 21st Century. No journalist or publisher who exposes war crimes or corruption will be safe. Speakers: Daniel Ellsberg of the Pentagon Papers, James Goodale, the general counsel for The New York Times during the Pentagon Papers, and Chris Hedges, Pulitzer Prize-winning author and former New York Times journalist.

Moderated by Sue Udry, executive director of Defending Rights and Dissent. Hosted by Popular Resistance.

I see Assange/Manning as the logical write-in ticket, in November, for those unwilling to chose among evils. The military industrial complex is the dark cloud hanging over this political farce and these two dared look the Beast in the eye and not blink. The least the rest of us can do is show some solidarity.
