The blatantly illegal prosecution of Julian Assange (prosecutors monitored his meetings with his attorneys, CIA contingency plans to assassinate him, a key witness recanted his testimony, etc.) would preclude the prosecution of any case under US law.
This is a deliberate, illegal, and autocratic persecution meant to terrify independent journalists from exposing US crimes and exposes the hypocrisy of US and UK claims of having a fair judicial system.
