From Editor Robert Parry: At Consortiumnews, we welcome substantive comments about our articles, but comments should avoid abusive language toward other commenters or our writers, racial or religious slurs, and allegations that are unsupported by facts.
If we notice violations of this comment policy, we will take down such comments. If readers spot such violations, they can bring them to our attention at [email protected]. Repeat offenders will be placed on a watch list requiring case-by-case approval of their comments.
Obviously, our preference is for commenters to show self-restraint and to make their observations in a respectful and thoughtful way. We have plenty of work to do without having to police the comment section.
Also, because of annoying SPAM, we have installed a SPAM filter that sometimes catches legitimate comments. We try to check the filter during the day to recover these comments, but please do not be upset if occasionally one of your comments suffers this fate.
Robert Parry is a longtime investigative reporter who broke many of the Iran-Contra stories for the Associated Press and Newsweek in the 1980s. He founded Consortiumnews.com in 1995 to create an outlet for well-reported journalism that was being squeezed out of an increasingly trivialized U.S. news media.
I always go to the comments section where I usually find articulate, well presented commentary. Most often these expand and clarify the subject, assisting me in a fuller understanding of the issue. I appreciate reading polite, informed and thoughtful contributors. Sadly, however, some lower the level of discussion and deserve to be rejected when they refuse to change their ways.
Outstanding articles Mr Parry ! Would be great if you add crosspostings to FB and G+, so it s easier to follow on the new articlles as those come out.
Mr Parry I really enjoy your website. I find it one of the few sites that cover their news stories well. In fact, if America’s media were run right your site would probably be middle of the road on opinion. Yet, that’s not the case, so good on you Mr Parry for your honest work.
I enjoy reading comments on all the websites I frequent. Often on Consortiumnews the commenters are as good of a read as the articles, and that’s really saying something good about your visitors to this site. If there were any way to improve this commenter section then I would say do it. I might mention (no names) how some commenters here seem interesting enough that I wish they would write some of the articles as well. Although, doing what you do here is just super…keep up the good work!
Peace J.T.
Mr. Perry, You must be aware that Israel has hired college students, offering money grants, to post on social media according to their script. Some of them get abusive while most stay within bounds so as to not be censored.
This has become a clear propaganda war and I certainly hope you will research and deal with the issue of Israel use of students to flood the comment boards with their scripted and often abusive writing.
This is an important issue, since discrediting truth, like you present very clearly and not always favorable to the Israelis cause, is targeted.
Interesting way to comment. “Copy This Password” and then “Type Or Paste Password Here”. I’ve never seen this, before, so it’s very novel to me.
With that said, your request and warning is good. I can’t speak about what Hillary, “on July 26, 2014 at 3:02 pm”, posted and will leave this to you two parties; but your request is understandably good. I often wish YouTubers, f.e., would listen to such advice; listening in the sense of learning and making practice of
Dear Robert,
I really appreciate what you are doing, especially when it comes to coverage of the crisis in Ukraine.
When all this shit just started and US promised to help the rising “democracy”, I said to a friend of mine – who is an American – that I hope it won’t happen as it will lead to a bloodbath as usual. Unfortunately, it did happen and we can all see consequences – as it was many times before in Libia, in Syria, in Iraq, in Afghanistan. And all this is covered by lies spread by mainstream media channels. The recent tragedy with Malaysian plane resembled me the provocation with Syria chemical attack.

.
I have to complain , once again , because my comments have been removed on a regular basis even though I believe they are well within the limits “advertised” .
