Saturday in Kingston, New York an impassioned plea to mobilize an anti-nuclear war and pro-peace movement will be launched with Scott Ritter, Max Blumenthal and Judge Andrew Napolitano among the speakers.
On Sept. 28, 2002, the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) marched in London to protest the impending invasion of Iraq. In the 1980s, the CND was in the forefront of the nuclear disarmament movement, which helped lead to U.S.-Soviet arms limitation treaties (now being abandoned.)
There have been no anti-war protests since of the size 0f the anti-Iraq War movement. Exactly 22 years later, on Sept. 28, 2024, a rally will be held in Kingston, N.Y. to help revive an anti-war movement in the face of two conflicts that could go nuclear.
Scott Ritter, former U.N. weapons inspector, geo-strategic and political analyst and journalist wrote the following on his Substack on Aug. 15, a week after the F.B.I. raided his home:
There is no doubt that the Kingston rally is going to be a political event — as part of the event, I am organizing Operation DAWN, an event designed to help prevent nuclear war between the U.S. and Russia by asking the following questions of American voters:
“What would you do to save Democracy, save America, save the World, by empowering your vote in November?”
Maybe the F.B.I. thought I would be intimidated by the raid, and opt to remain silent out of fear of generating unwanted attention.
But all the F.B.I. really accomplished that day [Aug. 7, when it raided Ritter’s home] was to execute a raid on peace.
Because that is what Operation DAWN and the Sept. 28 rally in Kingston are all about — promoting the cause of peace based upon good relations between nations, of preventing nuclear war through meaningful arms control.
… I believe the threat of nuclear war represents the greatest existential threat to my country today.
Four, one of the last remaining opportunities for the American people to help prevent a nuclear war is to empower their vote in November’s presidential election by making the candidates for that office earn it by articulating policies that promote peace, the prevention of nuclear war, and the promotion of arms control. …
I will be in Kingston, New York, on Sept. 28, side by side with Gerald Celente and a host of friends and colleagues, including those physically present and those participating remotely, to promote the cause of peace that constitute the core objectives of Operation DAWN.

Don’t waste your time or breath trying to persuade Harris or Trump to seek peace. These chicken-hawks don’t listen to anyone who is not a member of the MIC complex (which includes the press).
The only way you will ever get the two major parties to listen to you is to defeat both of them. Vote for an anti-war candidate as if your life depends on it — because it probably does.
God speed and God bless those who stand firm, those who recognize the gravity of this moment. And perhaps even culmination as we seem to be, we ARE at a certain moment in time, one where “all of the marbles” are in the circle, all of the cards on the table, the thousands of years of civilization where it could all be thrown away are now come down to just hours—-and readily apparent to those with eyes that see.

Their paranoia and hatred encouraged these permanent PNACers who gave us such artful and consummate ‘bull-in-a-china shop’ bureaucrats like Madame Nuland and her family of ghouls, the vituperative and ever-vengeful Michael McFaul-John Bolton types, the opportunistic and perpetually Koch-Industries-funded Michael Pompeos who strut proudly while leaving a trail of innocent blood in their wake.

They understand what’s at stake here. Many of them live daily under threats to their lives—from their own government to at least two foreign governments acting covertly to inflict harm upon their “domestic peace and tranquility… And such is the nature of true Evil. And this is what we are up against. In all seriousness: mark my words.
Support these warriors for our own survival. If there is one phrase to remember and hold as your shield in this perilous hour, it is “Blessed are the peace-makers.”

The extinction of the anti-war, anti-nuclear element in the Democratic party is the primary reason I left. It was almost tolerable when they were only guilty of silence, but now they are welcoming and touting the endorsements of war criminal neocons like Dick Cheney, and rewriting history to paint a vampire like Victoria Nuland as a patron saint of liberal democracy in Ukraine, and that’s after trying to put a ghoul like ‘We came, we saw, he died … hahahahahaha’ Hillary Clinton into the White House. I don’t even recognize the party anymore.
That said, I do hope that any renewed anti-nuclear movement will limit itself to nuclear WEAPONS, and not demonize nuclear power. If there is ever to be any hope of achieving Net Zero or something remotely close, or just to produce reliable, abundant, clean power to keep civilization afloat, nuclear power is the only solution. Intermittent wind and solar power cannot provide base-load power. Nuclear is the only zero CO2 emissions power source that can do the job 24/7/365. The biggest mistake of the 1960s/70s anti-nuclear movement was it’s failure to distinguish between nuclear weapons and nuclear power, and producing agitprop like ‘The China Syndrome’ that scared the crap out of a generation of people.
I will not vote for either of the meatheads that are on the official 2024 ballot. I will however vote for Jill Stein if I am able to in my state. At some point we need to stop enabling these people posing as government officials – unfortunately so many Americans are only tuned into the mass media machine which is sucking their brain matter out to the point that they cannot think for themselves.
So how do we empower our vote to prevent nuclear way? Vote for Democrate Neocon or Republican nutcase fascists? Why isn’t the only candidate that shares their/our perspective not on the list?

At the recent UK general election, the Labour Party did not even bother to pretend to support any degree of disarmament whether nuclear or any other kind.
I strongly suspect that my countrymen and women are sick and tired of waging war on people who are in no way an actual threat to us and being told that the ridiculously high cost of doing so makes it impossible to address domestic needs we have that are actual matters of survival for many of us (and where we should be taking a leadership role in helping the rest of the world address them because their problems can often affect ours).
A presidential election year in which both of our major parties are competing in foreign policy belligerence should be fertile ground for peace-oriented candidates (not just at the presidential level as hundreds of Congressional seats and thousands of state and local ones are also up for grabs) given how poorly our two dominant parties have for decades been addressing our needs and our desires.
“Throw the bums out” seems to be an increasingly popular attitude these days across major party boundaries, so why limit a ‘movement’ merely to opposing nuclear war (though some people may be sufficiently ignorant not to find that scary) but instead emphasize just how damaging ANY war economy is to our domestic tranquility.
Only a few weeks are left until election day, so any such movement needs to make hay while the sun shines and try to get sufficient attention to maintain its momentum afterward.
Your countrymen/women ARE tired of war-mongering. Unfortunately, the politicians, political parties, bureaucrats/diplomats, and captains of industry / political donors are addicted to it …. and they don’t particularly care what the proles think.

What happened the government bowed down to gun manufacturers and allowed the sale of so called assualt rifles. Having been in the military I was shocked by this. Now the government since allowing the country to become the most armed country on earth, failed the U.S. ‘we the people’. Pitching the country into numerous wars and other military interventions want to disarm Americans.
Americans are very concerned about their own safety and they should be.
So I have a personal thought on all this B.S., to the government here is a message for you, as the orange turd from NYC has proven at least one third of the country are certifiably insane.
