Craig Murray: The Israeli Nihilist State

The apartheid state appears to have no objective other than violence and an urge for desolation.

It is no longer possible to categorise the nihilistic violence of the Israeli state. It appears to have no objective other than violence and an urge for desolation.

In 24 hours Israel has murdered the man with whom it would need to negotiate hostage release in the short term and political settlement in the long term, and a key figure in its most dangerous potential military enemy which has refrained from full-on war.

In doing so it has violated the territory, indeed the capitals, of two crucial regional states.

[See: Netanyahu Risks Regional War With Assassination]

Israel has also taken a policy decision that the mass rape of detainees by soldiers — and, somewhat strangely, homosexual rape in particular — is acceptable in war and not to be punished.

Ironically Israel has also underlined its genocidal intent in Gaza by proving that it has the technical ability to carry out targeted attacks, and that the flattening of entire cities with 2,000lb bombs and the massacre of tens of thousands of innocents has been a policy choice.

The Western media appears paralysed by this. I have seen virtually no serious comment or analysis. Nor has anybody pointed out the contrast between Israel’s lies about mass rape on Oct. 7 and Israel’s now-admitted policy of tolerating rape of detainees.

The political class seems even more paralysed than the media class. Caught in their commitment to Zionism — basically bought and paid for – they have nothing to say about these incredible events more sensible than Kamala Harris’ zombie-like incantation of “Israel’s right to self-defence.”

The British Foreign Office has failed to produce its promised considered reaction to the ICJ Opinion on the illegality of Israeli occupation, let alone responded sensibly to Israel’s crazed paroxysm of destruction this week.

[See: ICJ: Israel’s Occupation of Palestinian Territory Is Illegal]

For me it is now axiomatic that there is no two state solution and that apartheid Israel must be completely dismantled as an entity. I believe that more and more people around the entire globe believe that now.

And if we have to dismantle our own political and media classes to get there, so be it.

Which wealthy individuals have so much money that they can cow the leadership of all of Western Europe and the United States and make them go along with genocide?

Israel is a grotesque Old Testament cosplay. It has forfeited any right to exist it ever had.

Ironically, I’m writing this on Roma Holocaust Remembrance Day.

    dear craig murray,

thank you for your straightforward articles and analyses.
i draw much courage from your reporting and campaigning.

i have stopped reading and listening to the MSM in my EU country
bc i don’t want to constantly feel lied to any longer … i feel offended
    and OUTRAGED, of course.

[remember CIA director william casey: “we’ll know our disinformation
program is complete once everything the american public believes is false.”]

as to the atrocities committed and the indifference towards them,
the global north was not moved by the fact that for years, the number
of displaced people has been increasing by an annual 10 million and has
now reached a staggering 120 million people w/o roofs over their heads.

jean ziegler used to tell the international community for decades
that every five seconds a child dies of hunger bc we allow proxy wars
to be fought and food speculation etc. to happen at stock exchanges.

who cared then? and who really cares enough now?
once, out of a colonialist habit, people have made themselves
comfortable in their global northern mode of indifference,
it seems, to them, uncalled for, if not outright impossible,
to change that mindset. “we have the better values based
on our rules-based order. so things are not going to adversely
affect us”, is what too many global northerners seem to think.

if they saw more pictures of daily atrocities
would they finally be swayed? or retreat even further
into their denialist corners? the dehumanization that
comes with that has reached levels beyond repair …

i recently listed to a piece of music by
nusrat fateh ali khan and heard him affirm:
“in the midst of darkness, light persists.
in the midst of lies, truth persists.” here’s to hope
and loads’n’ loads of comrades in welcoming arms!

“The British Foreign Office has failed to produce its promised considered reaction to the ICJ Opinion on the illegality of Israeli occupation, let alone responded sensibly to Israel’s crazed paroxysm of destruction this week.”

Well hardly surprising, given they sought to block that ruling in the first place:

    Yes! Yes! Yes!
Thank you, Craig Murray and CN.

Israel must indeed be dismantled and it’s a great relief that more and more people are saying it out loud. On some level I think many Israelis know it too, if unconsciously. It would go some way to explaining their utterly demented and debased behavior. As awareness dawns I think Israel and Jewish Israelis will become even more dangerous – difficult and terrifying though it is to imagine – and inclined to use nuclear weapons.

What a time to be alive.

    “Israel’s right to self-defence.”

A mass murderer has no right to self defense …

      @caliman

if i read international law correctly,
an occupying power cannot claim the
right to self-defense in the territories
it occupies – while occupied peoples
have every right to do everything to
shake the occupier and oppressor off
[which is what ‘intifada’ literally means].

      • Caliman
        August 2, 2024 at 18:02

That is very much correct and true even when the occupying entity is not a mass murdering genocider … in the case at hand, Harris’s claim of self defense for Israel is thus more than perverse.

        August 3, 2024 at 14:55

Yes. And most educated people know this…….would themselves fight back if occupied by a foreign power.

But some paralysis of will has invaded our bodies, political and otherwise. What we allow for ourselves and our loved ones, we do not extend to Palestinians……and inspite of all the propaganda, Zionist money invested in western societies, I don’t quite understand how intelligent people maintain that double standard.

It seems that in the west……..if we once make a mistake, we must defend it to the ends of the earth. Still, the dam of denial is breaking….and I’m starting to wonder what world power we are going to find ourselves having to go up against????

Certainly I’ve heard nothing of Russia or China backing the genocidal state of Israel.

A nuclear armed adversary will never succumb to unacceptable changes or challenges. A trapped rat will bite its threat.
If the opposition to Israeli policies joins the Nuclear Club an inadvertent act could plunge the Middle East into a localized armagedon. Iran has the capability. If Israel keeps pushing it’s only logical, from an Iranian view, to develop and threaten use as can israel.
Had Israel not pursued “Lebensraum,” creating Jewish settlements on Palestinian land, and were its political stance have avoided seeing its enemies as “Untermenschen,” perhaps conversation could have avoided Gaza and so many other atrocities.

Oh, what a gay day in Israeli concentration camps and prisons. What do we have here: oh yes, the hanging of prisoners their anal rape to the point of death. Yes, it gets that bad. There is a time when words fail one. We have just passed it.

I rather suspect that for fascistic death cults, sex itself is a form of torture. Something the superior warriors enjoy visiting upon their inferiors……..a kind of catharsis in the midst of all the mayhem and killing.

It’s sickening……….but the right always accuses the other side of the atrocities they know very well they will be committig on a regular basis once the real fighting starts.

      I believe its called projection.

It is essential to continue with clear observation to expose this lunatic obsession with war in the region. “It’s Israel’s right to self-defense” is a canard, a meaningless diversion, a subterfuge. It’s similar to answering a serious accusation against somebody with “humans walk on two legs.” We are amidst a war of propaganda, as usual, during hideous war. Continue to call it out, expose it!

What we have here is not only failure to communicate but the machinations of unhinged brutes and bullies. We need to put them all in the dock as at Nuremberg and make careful records of what they are doing, just as was done at the end of World War 2. We are seeing a return of the same type of idiots who caused that war.

Having nuclear weapons in the mix makes the job of stopping aggression more difficult than it would otherwise be. A most fateful decision humans need to undo if we are to survive.

    • ingamarie
      August 3, 2024 at 15:03

Stopping Israel would be as easy as imposing sanctions on all countries supplying Israel with weapons……..making BDS stick and have teeth.

Let’s face it: THIS WAR CONTINUES BECAUSE AMERICA, THE UK AND OTHER WESTERN IMPOTENT POWER ARE SUPPORTING IT WITH WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION.

Perhaps more of us citizens should refuse to pay the portion of our taxes that go to creating fossil fueled death machines???? That would really be giving peace a chance.

  16. August 2, 2024 at 08:28

The main question is whether Israel will take the rest of the world down with it. That seems to be their intent. When madmen are in charge, expect ultimate disaster. I put most of the blame squarely on the Biden administration which is not just enabling all the atrocities, but are actually encouraging them. We still have 6 months of genocide Joe to suffer through, and it isn’t clear at all what additional carnage he can perpetrate in that time.

    • Jonathan
      August 2, 2024 at 10:05

Why should Kamala Harris hold different views from Biden? She is in thrall to same lobby groups, military and intelligence institutions and election donors.

But Genocide Joe and his neocons had no real opposition in Congress, the GOP CONDONED AND PARTICIPATED in all the war crimes the Israeli and American Zionists committed, and the media is in full support. Congress glorified the IDF zombie killing machine massacres with standing ovations and support for more, telling Netanyahu they have his back. They are swimming in blood.

Do assume anything will change after the ‘election’?

Netanyahu stood before the pathetic congress blaring forth how Iran hangs homosexuals. Well, thank god the Israelis only rape a man until he can no longer walk. So much more humane. Barbarism against humanity he proclaimed as barbarism on steroids lies under his command. The impotence of international humanitarian response is certainly on display. Perhaps the Palestinians shall not die in vain if it brings an ultimate end to the Zionist state and the empire by which it is allowed to exist.

Yes, the impotence of the international community is most certainly on display. The United Nations should be in the lead, but the U.N. is merely an extension of Washington D.C.. The U.N.bureaucrats frequently make a little noise and sternly tell Israel not to do this or that again, but everyone knows that the stern warning is going to be ignored. And by end of day the bureaucrats only concern is which fine dining establishment gets to feed them tonight and what are the luxury travel plans for tomorrow. The U.N.cannot be reformed. The BRICS will have to start from scratch.

The US has not the ability to save them, these are not poorly armed sandal-wearers that can be obliterated from 60,000ft, these are modern armies and the days of either the US or its genocidal demonic spawn threatening West Asia are over…..and that wee yapping British bulldog can shut up too!
