Yes, the Germans seem to be reverting to type – yet again.

It’s prudent to remember that Germany is an occupied state – has been run by the USA since 1945 – so it’s safe to say that it’s supporting Israel because the US tells it to. CN did an article on that a month ago (“Beneath Germany’s Unshakeable Support of Israel”).
Certainly much to this, but Japan and S Korea are also run by the US and one does not see this level of utter servility in re to foreign relations and esp Israel there.
WW2 was 80 years ago … one would think that surely the current German people would be willing and able to move on. And yet, we see, not.
But neither Japan nor South Korea have the rocky history Germany had that the US and Israel capitalize on and blackmail Germany to obedience with.
Have news of protests in Germany escaped the radar?
Addendum: the long-standing gaslighting from the Western media, at least in the Western (capitalist) half of Germany, produces a faction of the population too afraid to speak out against Israel lest they be smeared as ‘anti-Semitic’. The former Eastern (socialist, Soviet-administered) half was said to be more supportive of the Palestinian cause.
(I’m sure differentiation between the people of a country and its ruling elites is important – not sure if you knew that because your wording was a bit vague and I couldn’t quite follow)
