Caitlin Johnstone: If I Were Going To Commit Genocide

I would eventually force other nations to either take the targeted people in or keep allowing them to be slaughtered.

If I were going to commit a genocide, I’d make sure to kill as many women and children as possible to eliminate the future generations of the people I was trying to wipe out. Come to think of it, I guess I’d basically do what Israel is doing in Gaza.

If I were going to commit a genocide, I’d deliberately target civilians, hospitals and civilian infrastructure to make it harder and harder for the undesirable population to survive. Actually, one good example of this would be what Israel is reportedly doing in Gaza today.

If I were going to commit a genocide, I’d make sure to target cultural centers to destroy the history and culture of the population I wished to remove, taking out their museums and ancient religious buildings. You know what? I suppose I’d do pretty much exactly what Israel is currently doing in Gaza.

Another thing I’d do if I were going to commit a genocide is make sure to kill all the best and brightest members of the population I was trying to exterminate — their doctors, lawyers, academics, journalists and thought leaders — in order to prevent any reconstruction of the civilization I was trying to stomp out. In other words I’d do what Israel is presently doing in Gaza.

If I were going to commit a genocide, obviously I’d have to make sure all my main underlings were on board for the operation, so you’d probably see them spouting genocidal rhetoric all the time in support of those plans. Kind of like the way Israeli officials have been talking for the last two months when discussing their operations in Gaza.

If I were going to commit a genocide, I’d also want to have a plan to drive the undesirables who couldn’t be eliminated by mass murder off the land I wanted them removed from. You’d see people in my government frequently discussing plans for ethnic cleansing, in very much the same way you’re seeing such discussions over and over again among Israeli officials and thought leaders.

If I were going to commit a genocide, I’d keep attacking the undesirable population with extreme aggression while pushing them further and further toward a foreign border, eventually forcing other nations to either take them in or keep allowing them to be slaughtered as I rain military explosives upon their continually shrinking living space

Either way I get rid of the population I was trying to get rid of, and I can repopulate the land I seized with a more desirable sort of people. In other words I’d do exactly what Israel is clearly doing, in plain view of the entire world.

If I were going to commit a genocide, I would make sure that:

    – I would first dehumanize the people I want to kill, stripping them from any human resemblance in order to make the genocide, acceptable, a “good” thing for the future of humanity; I would say that they are worse than animals, that there are no civilians among them, that our struggle is the fight of democracy against barbarianism; I would tell to my people that even Palestinian kids and women can potentially be terrorists, dangers to our soldiers, to justify the killing of innocents (read on a Swiss newspaper)

    – I would make sure that my people see the enemy as the chief cause of their fear, failure and suffering, and know that once the enemy is eliminated the paradise on earth would be restored.

    – I would make sure that everyone criticizing my genocide is perceived as an ally of the enemy, an ally of evil, seen as a person who clearly displays hatred; I would make sure that the pacifists will be condemned and denigrated, and possibly silenced in every possible way.

    – I would make sure that all journalists reporting my crimes on the ground had been silenced forever, I would make sure to control the narrative, denigrating or censuring every news and people that show a different picture and reality

    – I would make it impossible for the enemy to find a place where they can be cured and protected, I would impose a blockade to kill the most vulnerable, the youngest ones and women especially, the future of the enemy.

    – I would turn the genocide into a divine act, a call from god, I would make sure to let my people know that God had chosen us to liberate earth from evil, instill on them a feeling of superiority, almost divine, to make their life meaningful and valuable…

    – Above all, I would make sure that my people no longer think like humans, do not feel any empathy and compassion for the enemy, that everything they hate the most about themselves is projected onto the enemy

No one is born a psychopath, so the Zionists since their formation have taught their young how to think so as to become a psychopath. What evolution (thankfully) failed to do the Zionists have succeeded in doing. The Ancient Greeks taught their males how to support each other and how to efficiently kill their enemies. Not a recipe for a peaceful society but nor was it a psychopath manufacturing society .The Zionists have scored a first,

The evil from Israel began in 1948. Sadly the Palestinian murders have continued on and on. and on. Is JUSTICE truly an entity that past history copied and Israel now copies this horror? I don’t know, but what the US and UK did to Dresden made the US and UK just as complicit then as Israel is now.Sadly 75 years ago Israel’s plan began. I now believe Netanyahu and his band of murderers have somehow morphed into the Neo Nazis of the 21st century. : (

If only Australia (and the rest of ‘the West’) had someone of Caitlin’s calibre in a decision-making position.

W/o a doubt, Caitlin Johnstone IS “our” moral compass. On Target! Dead-Center, “BULL’S-EYE!!! “[DOING] what Israel is doing in Gaza,” IS “Genocide.” Done & Dusted!!!

Memo To: I$rael, the USG, Their War Chiefs, the U.S.Congress & The MSMedia, Print & Television

“Take the only tree that’s left and stick it up that hole in your culture.” Leonard Cohen, “The Future.” @ hxxps://

    WANTED: A “PeaceMaker” w/the power to Stop the “Butchers of Gaza.” A PeaceMaker who will execute, an epic hustle, in the Middle East, i.e., 1) A SWAP aka a TRADE for ALL Hostages;

…“BUT, do you recall, the most f.u.b.a.r. sycophants of all,” IMO, Pelosi & HER U.$. Congress, $upporting the Ma$ters of War, “Destroy another f….., now! We don’t like children, anyhow. I’ve seen the future, baby. It is murder.”

    2) WANTED: An Attorney, an Accountant, a Psychiatrist aka a PeaceMaker to Shut‘Em Down! Freezing their A$$ets. Disbursing their A$$ets to the victims of their war crimes and crimes against humanity.

…… “Shouting out w/glee. They’ll go down in history,” i.e., “HOW DID YOUR COUNTRY VOTE ON GAZA?!? * The Resolution, “calling for an immediate & sustained humanitarian truce & cessation of fighting , condemning all acts of violence aimed @ Palestinians & Israeli citizens.” — 121countries voted in favour of the resolution; 14 countries voted against, INCLUDING ISRAEL & THE U.S.; 44 others abstained.” *Israel-Palestine war of words—Al Jazeera analysed hundreds of world leaders’ speeches to see how language is shaping the Israel-Gaza war and its resolution.

Al Jazeera unpacks everything @ hxxps://

    3) The take-away: WARS are raging in the Middle East; &, by design, POTUS is M.I.A., from sea to shining sea! The exception, Corporate $ponsored fundraisers. POTUS’ got to be present to win.” I digress, “time to make the donuts.”

    Very good satirical truth telling!

I would also add the following:

If I were a conscienceless co-conspirator and enabler, I would gift my favorite genocider wildly inappropriate huge amounts of deadly weapons, as described below:

Source: U.S. Sends Israel 2,000-Pound Bunker Buster Bombs for Gaza War (archived) – WSJ

The surge of arms, including roughly 15,000 bombs and 57,000 artillery shells, began shortly after the Oct. 7 attack and has continued in recent days, the officials said. The U.S. hasn’t previously disclosed the total number of weapons it sent to Israel nor the transfer of 100 BLU-109, 2,000-pound bunker buster bombs.

Among the munitions the U.S. has transferred to Israel are more than 5,000 Mk82 unguided or “dumb” bombs, more than 5,400 Mk84 2,000 pound warhead bombs, around 1,000 GBU-39 small diameter bombs, and approximately 3,000 JDAMs, which turn unguided bombs into guided “smart” bombs, according to an internal U.S. government list of the weapons described to The Wall Street Journal by U.S. officials.

The U.S. has also sent Israel roughly 57,000 155mm artillery shells – a key munition the U.S. has also provided Ukraine since the 2022 Russian invasion – along with thousands of other artillery shells and various small arms.

The U.N., humanitarian agencies, and Arab countries mediating negotiations between the two sides have called for a permanent cease-fire. The Biden administration has rejected calls for a long-term cease-fire and expressed support for Israel’s fight to ultimately uproot Hamas from power in Gaza.

Thanks, Caitlin. Your articles hit like a tsunami.

This article provides more information as to the “additional”weapons the Israelis plan to use on the civilian population which will have harmful effects for generations. i.e. depleted uranium (DU).

Hamas has no tanks and so the enterprise in Wash thoughtfully provided DU to assist in the Israeli intent to essentially wipe out the Palestinians as a population.

To fight a war against unarmed civilians about 2/3rd women and children with all the power a nuclear power like Israel has would have been unbelievable just a few weeks ago. The despicable Israeli Zionists, the neocon Americans, and all the NATO powers are moral scum. I can’t find words for my outrage and shame for these people.

articulating the problems of the world in the clearest way possible is no longer enough. It has not been for ages. Anyone who is still on the fence at this point is either lazy or else willfully blind. The population of the world, the 99% whatever you want to call it, has been defeated. Endless articles from Johnstone, Hedges and others who engage in a kind of vivid and apocalyptic consciousness raising prose is not getting us any closer to praxis which is what is required at this point.

Unfortunately, most of Europe’s governments, including the UK, fully stand behind Israel in this war. Holocaust guilt riddled Germany is the worst offender, almost as bad as America and Canada, where I live.

Another hard-hitting and unforgivably blunt piece, thank you Caitlin. Seems nothing will penetrate the collective static hovering in the air. We go about our business as if in doomed anticipation of greater calamity, doing our best to keep our heads up amidst the realization that it’s all gone wrong. Times are ripe for a breakthrough.

I hope Israel wins and take over all of the Arab states in the Middle east, only so that we cannot witness their shameful cowardice any longer.
Majority of Muslims are pathetic cowards, Turkey, gulf Arabs, Indonesia with its 277 million, Egypt! Where are these scum hiding.
They are pathetically shouting at icc, UN, and criminal west to put a stop while they do for Israel to win

Israel couldn’t put out the fire from a burning yamake without direct US aid. Zionism is not democracy. So what you are proclaiming as your goal is the rise of anarchism across the entire Middle East. Strange goal, when the results of it are before our eyes daily in Gaza, in yet another “destroy and hold” operation that is no different than what the US has done in a dozen countries over the last 30 years. Team Collective Humanity might be a better team for you to back going forward.

Always spot on. I think Ms. Johnstone sums up the entire Israeli operation and intention in one small sentence: “Hamas is not the target, it’s the excuse.” It’s always been about land and ethnic cleansing.

If you keep company with criminals then you become a criminal. This is the US led alliance of the “rules based order” today.

Bibi Netanyahu is not hard to figure out. Not at all hard to understand. Bibi teetered on the edge of being ousted from office for years. Foreknowledge of the Hamas attacks by Mossad and the IDF has now been revealed. Bibi seized that opportunity to raze Gaza so that he could boot out the Palestinians living there. Bibi cynically accepted the murders of his own people to perpetrate a Psy-Op directed at the American people while hijacking their elected representatives. The plan is to rebuild Gaza with Israeli ‘settlers’ once the Gazans are all either killed or forced off of the land by making it uninhabitable. Anyone who calls out the genocide is immediately labeled as ‘anti-semitic.’ Has the world finally gotten fed-up with this blanket excuse for every evil done by people with Jewish ancestry? This is the same victim canard used by the Democrat party in their cynical crusade against ‘systemic racism.’ Democrats need a through rejection at the ballot box.
