WATCH: A Last Message From Gaza?

“Today may be my last day. My family and I will not make the mistake of the Nakba of 1948. … I do not forgive the world, from east to west, for what will happen to us.”

“Today may be my last day. My family and I will not make the mistake of the Nakba of 1948 and we will not leave our home. We are proud of our Palestinian blood until our last breath. I do not forgive the world, from east to west, for what will happen to us.”

These were the words read on Sunday at a rally in Sydney, Australia by the relative of a woman trapped in Gaza.  (Video by Cathy Vogan for Consortium News.)

It’s astounding what Israel and its US backers are allowed to get away with. ALL slaughter is atrocious, but slaughter in the name of righteousness has got to be the worst. What kind of God would encourage people to slaughter other people for a piece of land? I know the God of Christian Capitalism naturally does that, but it appears that the Christian god sends apocalyptic messages to His followers in Amerika that support the Jewish God’s followers in Israel in slaughtering the followers of the Islamic God, who also get orders from their God to slaughter infidels (and women who disobey). Imagine a world without the murderous, punitive patriarchal Gods running the world’s domestic and foreign policy. You may say I’m a dreamer…
For the record, I support the Palestinians in this conflict. They’ve been abused and slaughtered for decades by Israel and the US. Homemade bombs and rockets against a billion dollar military is not a “war” though. It’s a massacre.

It’s not just that ugly, inconvenient geopolitical truth is not “taught” and is blanked out by the media – but most people are too self-centred and focused on trivia, entertainment, kitten videos, sport etc etc to spend time and energy doing boring, buzz-killing geopolitical research.
With 24/7/365 smartphone etc internet access it’s never been easier to seek out truth and get some real research done. But most people are still more-or-less passive slaves and willing victims of the mainstream media by choice. Ignorance and amnesia are the result.
    Try this extended aphorism:
“It only requires that good men and women remain silent or ignorant for evil, deafening silences, lies and moral bankruptcy to prevail and triumph”

I hope this is a sea change for the entire world since all seem watching and it is bringing to the fore the history of the imperialist/colonialists that most are not taught because most countries don’t want their population to hear or see or know about the atrocities their governments do in their name. A few days ago, reading comments on a utube discussion about this situation, a woman said she could not stop crying. I wondered who that woman was; I know who she is now.
