I have a question. First, has Julian, effectively in custody including time in the embassy and under home arrest and time in custody on remand for deportation, gone close to, or even exceeded 10 years?
PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME ! WHAT DID HE DO THAT DESERVED THIS IMPRISONMENT AND THE POSSIBILITY OF A MAXIMUM OF A SENTENCE OF 170 YEARS IF (EXPORTED) DEPORTED?
Contrast with the decision of the Indonesian justice system to release one of the Bali bombers after 10 years of a 20 year sentence.
The “west’ BOASTS WE ARE MORE ENLIGHTENED WHEN IT COMES TO HUMAN RIGHTS. JULIAN NEVER KILLED ANYONE BUT HE SURE EXPOSED THE YANKS AND THE WEST AND THE STATE SANCTIONED MURDER, TORTURE AND HYPOCRACY. HE SHOULD BE SAINTED NOT IMPRISONED.
P.S. I respect the Indonesians decision in this regard and see it as a progressive approach to sentencing and contrast it to the attitude of Australia, the US and the UK who would adopt a medieval approach to sentencing

Do these theatrical rallies really do Assange any good? Or are they just another ritual, like out elections in the USA which change nothing?

Yes, but it better than doing nothing. Do nothing, make no noise then nothing will change. We must be optimistic and hopeful.

Inspiring videos and protests. I especially liked the Belmarsh Prison protest. They were so co-ordinated and vocal. I’m sure Julian heard them. Bravo.

    Article in today’s Guardian:

“Biden faces growing pressure to drop charges against Julian Assange”

“Biden faces a renewed push, domestically and internationally, to drop charges against Assange, who is languishing in a UK jail”

The USA can’t drop charges because there are too many nut jobs in positions of power to oppose it, ie. Pompeo, Bolton, Clinton. And, until Assange arrives on USA soil the problem can always be brushed away as a UK problem – and the UK is definitely the major problem for Assange.
