Praise for Consortium News’ Coverage of the Assange Hearing

Readers and viewers let us know what they thought of our coverage of the Julian Assange extradition hearing.

We worked hard to bring you print and video coverage of just about every aspect of the Media Trial of the Century, a month of hearings from the Old Bailey to determine whether Julian Assange will be extradited to the United States.

Here are just a few of the readers’ and viewers comments on the website and on our YouTube channel. Join in the praise by helping us meet our 25th Anniversary Fall Fund Drive target as we continue our Assange coverage, as well as Election 2020 and the most crucial international and U.S. news events.

The Consortium coverage of this travesty of justice against Julian Assange is what will either save freedom of the Press or record its demise.

By far and without a doubt the most intelligent panel discussion I’ve seen yet on the Assange case.

Excellent reporting. Establish a public record of how Julian Assange is persecuted and prosecuted.

Theresa Barzee

Thank you, our best and most wonderful supporters for Julian, on the reporting daily now! If money comes, it’s yours! Gigantic appreciation, Consortium News, Joe, & whole amazing team!
Free Spirit

Thank you, Joe, again for your Wonderful summary of what is going on, and thank you, Cathy, again for making it possible. The whole thing is such a farce. Poor Julian and his family, it must be SO disheartening for them. It’s a complete sham of a court case. One of the things I also find sad is, it seems the court is constantly mesmerized by the prosecution, Lewis, etc and what they want the judge and the public to focus on, it seems the defence team lawyers don’t really say much to help crush the prosecution’s arguments.

Just discovered you and I thank you for your work.

Another outstanding program! I fear for when we lose these our elder statesmen, (there are women too of course) who will speak truth into our dwindling culture, a culture both dumbed down by mundane concerns such as what is happening in Kardashian Land, and ‘nothing to see here’ manipulation of us by powerful intelligence interests using mighty algorithms on social media to keep us ill informed. The internet that should open our world has instead closed it, it is our Huxley’s ‘Soma a day’, and only by searching out such discussion as this program can we hope to understand what this world really is.
Zippity Day

Your reports and perspective are so appreciated Joe.

If anybody deserves the funds to support your excellent continuous coverage and dedication to the support of Assange, it’s all of you at Consortium News. As soon as I can I will send what I can. Enormous contribution for us all. Thank you so very much. Please stay well and know we will do whatever we can asap! I turn to your program first every single day now. Free Julian. Free his families all over this world. Keep journalism , truth- tellers and publishing protections. Or else we do not live. We exist in tyranny of horrors, intolerable. Compensate these fine folks at Consortium News! We cannot do without their work. Thank you.

CNfan

My profound thanks to Consortium News for such thorough coverage and documentation of this monumentally important case.

Alex Cox

Thank you for your excellent reporting.

Linda Chegwidden

A fantastic job done by all at Consortium news. Shame on the silence of the mainstream press. Free Julian Assange!

Andrew Thomas

The job done by Consortium News, Joe Lauria and Craig Murray is, and has been, so beyond first rate it is in the stratosphere. Perhaps even more importantly, it will be the only real source of this hideous event that historians will have to write of it in the future. You are the last bastion of reality based journalism in English. I applaud you all with great respect.

I live in the UK probably not an institution that will exist much longer because of the lies and false hoods of the the media and fake news of the internet, causing what is basically a European country leaving our closest neighbours. I have heard nothing on our T.V media, Radio Media on what is going on with the trial of Julian Assange. What the **** is going on.Deeply worried !

    Regards Graham

Consortium News was virtually “inside” the courtroom at Old Bailey every day of the
Julian Assange extradition hearing observing proceedings by video-link and providing
both a written report and a daily video summary by Consortium News Editor in
      Chief, Joe Lauria.

Every day of the coverage is available on the Consortium News homepage.

I’d like to add my voice of praise and appreciation for the important work that Consortium News is doing with its coverage of the Julian Assange show trial. I know that my dad, Robert Parry, would be proud of the vital forum that this website continues to offer for independent news and views that are shut out of the mainstream media — particularly on this ongoing travesty of justice. Free Julian Assange!

      Re: Nat Parry
Surely it can be correctly considered that your father would be very pleased by your contributions to keeping his life’s work and that of ConsortiumNews evolving. I shall always cherish the recollections of our communications, both private (sans NSA violations) and public exchanges.
It occurred to me, upon reading your comment, that you may well be the perfect person to pen an op-ed/editorial regarding the currently accepted serial misuse of your father’s historical signature term “October Surprise”. The seriousness of the events that inspired that term should not be allowed to be equated with the current clownish and petulant political distractions, as reported by the present shit-show of sycophantic pseudo-journalism.
This summary discussion of the Assange “Hearings” in England, hosted by Joe, should be shared widely by everyone who is not only serious about saving Julian Assange from the current INQUISISION, but the probable resulting infringement of speech and press freedom globally. So paste this url Far & Wide.

It was good to be able to read about what has taken place each day. I’m hoping this will bring some visibility to the matter and hopefully we will get a good result. Let us hope he is released so he can get the care and rest he both needs and deserves. You have done a very good service. Keep up the good work.

Thank you Consortium for your excellent coverage of the U.S./U.K./et al final, brutal attempt going on in Old Bailey to extradite
Julian Assange to the U.S. for telling the truth. Our hope is he will be freed in November. He has suffered enough.
