Jo and the Consortium team, I only discovered this website about six months ago and felt pleasantly surprised and hopeful that there is an organisation fighting for press freedom. It is reassuring because most of my associates think we in the UK have a free press.
On my retirement in 2010 I joined Amnesty International and campaigned enthusiastically even getting involved in street parties in support of persecuted people around the globe. Amnesty’s remit has expanded over the years but its founding cause was to support prisoners of conscience. Although I was aware of the Jullian Assange issue it was not until 2019 that I realised that here in the UK we had a classic case of a prisoner of conscience and Amnesty was deathly silent. I then realised that Amnesty International were very good at helping persecuted individuals and groups in third and second world countries and it certainly made one feel good when successes were achieved. But do not look at us first world free democratic law abiding countries. I resigned reluctantly in 2019 explaining to my local group my reasons. As a footnote I was struck by your website layout, it is easily accessible, clear, concise and colour concious.
    Keep up the good work.
    Regards
    Les Gillot

    Dear Joe and Consortium team,
You are doing your best! And, trust me, that is good enough for us! Finally I’ve been able to donate a bit (probably just enough coffee funding for an 8-hour pot). It does not come close to the value you’ve provided for decades. How I wish I could pay all the Assange and Wikileaks supporters what this world owes them. May you stay well and be strong. You are so deeply appreciated.
I’d like to propose a new statue subject: Senator Mike Gravel sobbing while having put the pentagon papers words through his own body. For us all. Just as Julian is putting the needed leaks out for our own edification for now, and for the ‘permanent record’ in the centuries to come.
    Thank you, Consortium!
