Reacting to Russia’s military intervention in two breakaway Georgian provinces, the Bush administration signed an agreement with Poland to erect a missile defense system inside Poland.
The move – hot on the heels of the Russian-Georgian conflict – is seen as another jab at Moscow, a tit-for-tat pattern reminiscent of the Cold War.
