On his world tour, Barack Obama spent less than an hour in Palestine compared to 32 hours in Israel, prompting some Arab commentators to talk about the old U.S. political tilt toward Israel.
One of those observers was Mustafa Barghouti, who regretted that Obama didn’t get more of a feel of the reality facing Palestinians in their daily lives and didn't see the routine on-the-ground difficulties presented by the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Born in Jerusalem and a resident of Ramallah, Barghouti is a member of the Palestinian Parliament and leader of the Palestinian National Initiative, a democratic and reformist alternative to the Palestinian Authority and Hamas.
