Help Empty Our Book Warehouse

From Robert Parry: I’ve carved out enough space in my house for most of the remaining cartons of Secrecy & Privilege and Neck Deep. But there are still about 25 to 30 cartons that don’t fit.

You can help us solve that problem and close out our warehouse space by buying a carton of 28 books for only $59. (I’ll pay the shipping and handling for U.S. orders.)

You can use the books as gifts, donate them to local libraries or resell them. One public radio station in Texas used Secrecy & Privilege as a premium gift for a fund drive, with me on for an hour to help the station raise money.

What I really don’t want to do is throw out these books. Too much hard work went into them.

Here’s how you can help us avoid that:

–Go to the Consortiumnews.com’s donation site and put in a $59 charge on your Visa or Mastercard. Follow up with an e-mail to [email protected] to give us your mailing address and your book selection. You can get a 50-50 split of Secrecy & Privilege and Neck Deep (14 each in paperback). Or a full carton of either book in paperback. Or a full carton of 24 hardback copies of Neck Deep.

–You can also order with a check made out to The Media Consortium; Suite 102-231; 2200 Wilson Blvd.; Arlington, VA 22201.

–Or by PayPal by making a payment to our account which is named after our e-mail address: “[email protected]” (Please include your book choice and mailing address in the PayPal message.)

If a full carton is too much for you right now, you can also help us by ordering just a two-book set for the discount price of only $19. Again, I’ll pay the shipping and handling for U.S. orders. (For foreign orders, just add $10 for the extra shipping.) For the two-book set, you can use the same payment methods mentioned above.

Secrecy & Privilege by Robert Parry explains how George H.W. Bush rose to power through his service to Richard Nixon during the Watergate scandal; describes Bush’s bloody year as chief of the CIA; and exposes his secret effort to undermine President Jimmy Carter’s Iran-hostage talks in 1980.

Neck Deep by Robert, Sam and Nat Parry takes this remarkable story of the Bush Family’s rise forward to George W. Bush seizing the highest office in land with the help of the Right’s powerful propaganda machinery, the systemic failure of the mainstream U.S. news media, and the coup d’etat of Republican political cronies on the U.S. Supreme Court handing Bush the White House.

Besides helping us save on warehouse costs, a portion of each book purchase will go keep the Consortiumnews.com Web site alive.

Thanks so much for your help.

Robert Parry

Robert Parry broke many of the Iran-Contra stories in the 1980s for the Associated Press and Newsweek. He founded Consortiumnews.com in 1995 as the Internet’s first investigative magazine. He saw it as a way to combine modern technology and old-fashioned journalism to counter the increasing triviality of the mainstream U.S. news media.

Robert, I would like a copy of each, but before making the order want to know if you have any copies of Lost History or Trick or Treason lying around that you also need to get rid of. Please let me know. Thanks – Jonathan

    Bob,
You may already know that I am part of CHOICES which counters the military recruiters in DC public and charter high schools. Over the years we have donated important books tomthe sparse libraries in these schools. We are out of pocket, so annotate afford even a case of them. But I would gladly distribute 15 or 20 copies of each thisnyear as I gomto the schools. P.O. Box 7147 DC 20044
