Donald Trump threatened Iran with annihilation from the seat of diplomacy on the East River Tuesday and then dismissed the real threats of AI as a hoax in a speech that exhibited questionable mental balance, writes Joe Lauria.

Donald Trump addresses U.N. General Assembly Sept. 22, 2026 (U.N. TV)
By Joe Lauria
Special to Consortium News
Donald Trump just delivered probably the most bombastic, ignorant, aggressive and outrageous speech to the rest of the world from the podium of the U.N. General Assembly in the 81-year history of the United Nations.
I covered 25 U.N. general debates from inside U.N. headquarters in New York as a correspondent based there and I have never seen anything like it, including Trump’s previous five U.N. addresses.
He began on Tuesday by beating his chest proclaiming himself king of the world:
“Our economy is the envy of the world.
Our military is the most powerful on earth.
Our technology is second to none and we are leading in virtually everything. Our energy is fueling the planet.
America is rising. Our nation is growing.
Our power is expanding.”
But of course America doesn’t have an empire.
“We’ve invested more money in the United States military in the past 12 months than ever before,” he reminded everyone, including the leaders of nations whose innocent people are slain by that military. “And this term, it will be $1.5 trillion.”
He reserved special venom for America’s latest victim of unprovoked violence:
“For 51 years, the fanatical Iranian regime has ruled by bloodshed and mass murder, spreading death and carnage and chaos across the entire Middle East and beyond. They were the bully of the Middle East, but they are the bully no more.”
Trump dare not look in a mirror.
For there he would see the face of the real bully of the Middle East, who, with bases of smoldering ruins, is bully no more.
Then after a litany of lies about the state of Iran’s military capacity and its nuclear program he shockingly threatened another U.N. member state from the world assembly’s rostrum in genocidal and megalomaniacal language:
“I have a big decision to make. Will a deal be made with Iran that lets them rebuild and create a far greater country than it ever was before? Maybe one of the greatest in the Middle East, or even the world.
Or do I annihilate the Islamic Republic and do it quickly, never giving them a chance to kill and destroy people and countries again?
Do I drive them into hell with no chance of survival and no hope of future greatness or generations?”
Only one other time did a world leader issue such a supreme threat against another nation at the United Nations. And that world leader was none other than Donald J. Trump.
On Sept. 19, 2017, speaking from the same podium, he said the U.S. would have “no choice but to totally destroy North Korea” if forced to defend itself or its allies.
Super Ignorance

Trump threatens Iran and dismisses AI threats at U.N., Sept. 22, 2026. (U.N. TV)
After a long stretch of calling on ICC member states to quit the court, of attacking “the craven hypocrites of Human Rights Council [for having] little to say about the persecution of Christians,” of his trademark, shameless self-promotion and congratulation for supposedly ending 8 wars (while attacking Iran, Venezuela — “To the victor belongs the spoils” — Yemen, Russia via Ukraine, aiding and abetting genocide in Gaza and threatening Cuba), Trump stunned the hall with the most profound and dangerous ignorance possible on the subject of Artificial Intelligence.
He had these astonishing things to say:
“Artificial Intelligence … makes it sound fake. And it is not fake. It’s actually amazing. But we have to be careful. In fact, it is exactly the opposite of what it purports.
From this point forward, all of United States documents and hopefully the world will be changed to use the much more accurate term super as opposed to artificial.
So it’s super intelligence.
In other words, welcome to the new world of superintelligence — SI.
Let’s see if that goes. It sounds much better. It is much better, and it’s much more accurate.
Let’s see if I have any power. Maybe I do and maybe I don’t. We’re going to find out pretty soon.
Superintelligence.”
He then added:
“Every major new technology brings challenges, and superintelligence is no exception. Yet the very same people who said we’ll all be dead in 12 years because of global warming, a name since reborn to climate change because the planet was cooling, not warming, and nobody was dead.
These are the same people that are now saying that AI is going to kill us all, that robots are going to attack us, and that everything is going to be a total disaster.
And we’re leading now over China by a lot and everyone else. And we’re going to keep it that way. We’re going to keep it very, very straight and very strong.
I’m not going to stifle growth of something that will be bigger than the industrial revolution, many say bigger than the Industrial Revolution or the internet itself.
But we will only encourage superintelligence. We’re going to encourage it, not rein it in.”
What That All Meant

Palestinian delegation in the foreground and U.S. secretary of state, First Lady, chief of staff and U.N. ambassador behind them as they listen to Trump, Sept. 22, 2026. (U.N. TV)
First, Trump totally misunderstands what the term “superintelligence” means. He is like most people who only understand AI from what has already been released to the public, such as ChatGPT or Grok. These are essentially glorified Google searches that go much deeper and much faster to extract astonishing amounts of information at astonishing speed presented in conversational form. The information can also be astonishingly wrong.
What the whistleblowers, early AI founders and AI CEOS’s — who Trump derides — have been raising the alarm about in recent days and weeks is not what’s already out in the public, but what is happening in the lab. They have explained that the neural networks that make up AI and mimic the human brain have already shown signs of breaking free of human control.
It has disobeyed orders, formed swarms or armies with other AI agents, made up its own laws, covered its tracks, hacked into other networks and is threatening to become independent entities reaching what is called “superintelligence.” Superintelligence is what is being warned about, not a fancy new term that Trump thinks better describes what he wants to beat China at.
Trump unfortunately is not alone in this dangerous ignorance. Swarms of commenters on social media and on publications such as this one are repeating unfounded theories that the CEOs are just saying these things to drive up the value of their companies, showing how powerful they are. This is delusional. If this is just a valuation stunt, the timing of these warnings around planned IPOs would be the worst possible. In essence this is the problem:
- current AI agents already evade constraints, coordinate, and hide what they did
- labs do not have a demonstrated way yet to keep much more capable future systems on a leash
- a superintelligent system that can improve itself, or a swarm that can recruit other agents, is a different control problem than a chatbot that answers a prompt, like ChatGPT or Grok.
There is still time to develop safeguards to prevent runaway superintelligent AI from doing us tremendous harm through autonomous hacks, bioweapons designs, cyberattacks against electric grids or worse, such as weapons systems up to and including nuclear weapons.
This is what alarms the “Godfather of AI,” Prof. Geoffrey Hinton (who thinks there’s a 10 percent chance AI wipes out humanity), industry whistleblowers like Jacob Coxon and Daniel Kokotajlo and AI CEOs like Dario Amodei, Elon Musk and Sam Altman. Yes, CEOs are greedy and power hungry by definition and generally don’t care about the rest of us, but they don’t want to die too.
There is still time. What is being called for is a pause until the guardrails are built and implemented. Since Trump is driven by the competition to beat China at AI, it’s imperative that China and the United States work together, possibly towards a treaty that will ensure the safety of AI so that its many benefits in solving problems can help humanity.
This week at the Chinese-U.S. summit in Washington AI will be on the agenda. The two countries are expected to set up a hotline to communicate on security risks resulting from AI. But not much more progress is anticipated though it is urgently needed for both sides to slow development.
A treaty would define what is paused, such as recursive self-improvement; possible controls on data centers and chip shipments somewhat analogous to nuclear treaty inspections and ensuring third countries don’t move ahead with uncontrolled development.
What’s clear is the issue must be taken seriously and the ravings of Donald Trump ignored.

re. typeewriters computers AI and others:
garbage in garbage out. if humanity doesnt end capitalism it will end humanity. this slakja
wed ego maniac is just a sign that we are closer than ever to doom.
We missed our last real chance when Occupy Wall Street failed.
Thank you Consortium.
Too bad someone didn’t electronically just shut him off. Serious power-problems happen all the time especially in the case of known world liars.
To the braggart belongs the soiled principles enhanced by economic tariff attack on the entire world disorder. The declaration of one world sole island of arms sales at extravagant profit performance and excessive maintenance rates. There are many doubts in the numerous touts however.
AI developed by people who think all laws apply to everyone except themselves will likely create computers on the same basis. If all AI systems began by giving the computer all the laws of a state and then data of human activity then the computer might follow laws. Going directly to examples of human behavior for learning avoids law.
The downside would be that the computers might then try to impeach all of Congress.
Thank You Joe
Trump is right. America doesn’t have an empire. America is like a Luca Brasi, muscle for a dying globalist banker mafia petrodollar empire.
• Our economy $40 trillion fake dollars in debt with millions of people who can’t afford to live here.
• Our military costs 10x several nations combined and has terror bombed over 30 countries. However it was kicked out of Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iran. Also it is out of ammo that can’t be replaced.
• Our technology is becoming antiquated with bloated budgets
• Our energy is fueling the planet because we bombed other energy producers.
• Our nation is growing because we import millions of strangers.
• Our power is evaporating daily.
IMO, “Trump’s Unconscionable UN Rant” was preceded by an “unconscionable” introduction, of POTUS as an “Excellency”. I ask,“Is this “Normalizing the Abnormal”? or “Is it coddling POTUS, so he behaves as they wish?” The answer, “Itsa universal formality, in the UNGA’s introductions. Itsa “generic form of address for all republican heads of state and heads of government;” AND, that’s where it ended!!! Basically, all aboard, the UNGA, know the devil, “we” know, i.e., DJTrump, “shameless self-promotion and congratulation for” fantasizing, out loud, ad nauseum, manifesting hate, in the “golden” error of Trump, an American Vulture aka a Bogey Golfer, kinda skilled but no f/expert. Fakes It!!!
….9.22.26, Agreed!!! POTUS, rock’n “Shitler’s Bucket List,” waddled into the UNGA; w/o fail, trump’n peace, everywhere!!! DJ “the Likes Never f/Ever Seen Before” Trump, leaning into the UNGA, bang’n out a relentless drumbeat, “I alone can fix it!”… “In other words, welcome to the new world of superintelligence — SI.” Full context, above. TY, JOE LAURIA!!!
Agreed, “He is like most people who only understand AI from what has already been released to the public,” ITSA TOOL! For example, “Work smarter NOT harder.” However, That’s been f/twisted! Itsa, malevolence vs. benevolence. Hence, the call for Regulations. Particularly, to reduce the risk of malevolence monopolizing “the future,” i.e., the bloody, f/burnt-orange paws & claws of Trump-Vance, Inc.-Israel FAFO. Everybody f/knows, “Decisions” are not subject to the US Congress’ “attention to this matter.” Who, btw, is “out to lunch,” on U$.
….. “Everywhere, there’s lots of piggies living piggy lives. You can see them out for dinner with their piggy wives. Clutching forks and knives to eat their bacon.” The Beatles
Imo, it’s f/rich of Elon Musk, who, willfully, chain-sawed/“hollowed out” our U.S. democratic institutions;” the Musk rat asks for Regulations. The owl asks, “Who’s gonna be The Regulators?” The bird tweets, “ FERC” The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)” for the Super-Intelligent System, FERC’s SIS & the People’s ask: “SLOW Development, NOW!!!” TY.
You have the president you deserve
Your president is a reflection of you
The world has come to realized that america is smoke and mirrors and has lost all credibility. Blatant bullying and ignorance in the lights of the world stage for all to see.
Where is the opposition? Where is the demonstration? Where are the voice of reasons? Where are the people?
“You” meaning the people who voted for him.
He certainly didn’t mean me. I tried to convince everyone I knew not to vote for Mr. Trump. Everything is or should have been known. Tragically, he still has 2 years to go.
With respect: To my mind, “you,” also means the Democrats who first ran the despicable candidate Hillary Clinton and then foisted Biden on the country, who engaged in the Russiagate hoax, who sold out the working class, who sold out the aspirations of their own base, etc. Trump’s regime is a product of the systemic and decades-old corruptions and failures of both parties. The Democratic Party, and I would certainly argue democratic voters, hold some considerable responsibility for the Trump presidency. I do think any president is to some significant extent a reflection of the nation he or she represents however uncomfortable the thought. Trump shows us something about who we are as a people.
Thanks CN and Joe Lauria for this report. For interested fellow CN readers: TIME magazine recently published an unusually thorough, detailed, and accessible article about the dangers of AI, several of which Lauria mentions above. I link to it here because TIME explains recent events in a way that makes clear exactly why AI techies and CEOs are so concerned. And why we all should be: hxxps://time.com/article/2026/09/10/ai-openai-hugging-face-hack-culture-swarm/
I did not read the entire TIME magazine article referenced, yet I cite Open AI president Greg Brockman’s statement calling “the recent events” a “watershed moment for cybersecurity.”
The threat goes way beyond, and much deeper than cybersecurity alone; it undermines the very nature of ‘human nature’ as exemplified by Drumph’s speech at the UN.
As for your comment above, of September 24, 2026, at 10:46, I am in full agreement.
“Trump shows us something about who we are as a people”.
The two-party system is in a “deep state” fraud and that is why, and how, a con artist character extraordinaire, such as Drumph, got to be purposefully elevated to the Presidency, for a 2nd time, despite our knowing, after his first tenure, that he was not an unknown quantity.
The American people (we) have permitted the wool to be pulled over our eyes for so many years now that ‘we’ no longer, if ‘we’ ever did, fully understood the true spiritual depth of the meaning of the word disingenuous.
Quite disgusted!
Everything about Trump can be understood and predicted by aggrandizes his power…if he threatens Iran he says “I have an important….”, if he meets with Mayor Mamdani it’s to bask a little in his popularity. As a malignant narcissist he has no problem looking in the mirror because he is always right. “I’ll never apologize for Iran…” kind of obtuseness. What appears to be contradictory, or impulsive is also always aggrandizing.
This personality disorder can’t be corrected so his backers need to be persuaded to remove him…I’m talking about the oligarchic class before he destroys the economy and democracy.
Trump violated at least four sections of the United Nations Charter in his speech. He should have been dragged from the podium by the assembled audience and arrested for the good of the public and the world. See the post from Code Pink for details. hxxps://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=1393032906343540&set=a.293381772975331
The world needs to shun Trump. Totally ignore him. Make him a non-person. Everyone in the White House walk out. The military cut off all communication with him.
SHUN TRUMP!!
Trouble is it’s the Western Powers that sit , listen & endure Trump as if it’s a message from on High.
On the other hand when it was Iran’s turn to reply – most or all of them were missing !
I can only hope that Iran, with help from Russia & China can win this & see an end to Trump.
He’s an evil foul Bastard that hopefully will be disappeared. Only trouble another a$$ will take his place.
The uSA must be diminished & learn it’s place in the World. It’s not Planet Ruler !
The problem with ignoring Trump is that he controls all the world’s economies so what are you ging to do abut that?
That the UN memebers sat thru all that without a murmur shows Trump control everyone. That they exited when Iran spoke tell us all.
Every–and I mean EVERY–powerful and malevolent historical personage from modern history of whom we have a record didn’t approach this level of bombast and delusion in their public pronouncements. The wonder is that people sit through these “speeches,” rather than leave and catch the drift in the news feed the next day! Our “president” (can it really be?) sounds like the Ozymandias inscription in the Shelley’s poem, and suggests the same fate for this fool and, quite possibly, for the rest of us. How have we fallen this far, and so fast? And why do we have a system that lets this go on day after day, week after week? At least we awaken from bad dreams. Our broken system condemns us to live this reality ever day. Something needs to change, radically and soon!
All good questions. The answer is revolution and the overthrow of the capitalist system and all of that system’s imperialist threats against the rest of the world. The capitalists destroy and they have destroyed the U.S. people by cutting social services and using our tax dollars (and borrowed money) for war and death. You cannot “reform” an evil system. You must eliminate it.
Any group of people dumb enough to run the likes of trump against “genocide” harris deserves what it is likely to get. We are clearly scraping the bottom of the barrel, and have been for some time, when it comes to electing government officials, especially at the federal level. We are offered a “choice” between losers. C’est la vie!
Good point. It appears that only incompetence is needed to get elected at the present time. Competence frightens the stupid.
This is the decrepit recklessness of our system, they were fully willing to run a long shot gamble for the prestige of an unpopular oligarch candidate (follwing after a dementia addled decrepit war criminal who could barely use the English language) against this. And they dont even try to fight Trump in Congress. The political system and Democrat’s reckless greed is much akin to that of the AI CEO’s hunger for dangerous technology.
Which is why I voted for Socialist Jill Stein.
I wrote her in, but in Wyoming my vote meant nothing.
I voted for her three times. I have zero patience for people who cling to the uniparty. They are the reason Dotard was standing at the UN podium making an ass of himself and exposing the people of the US as indoctrinated dupes.
Well said Joe. We are aware of how inaccurate & politicized the consumer AI platforms are.
Think about it.
They are being programmed by the same narrow-minded naive geeks that are responsible for making white-collar crime into an art form. These nerds exist partly in a video game world–smite thine enemy before they smite you. All have spent a better part of their youth playing games instead of living in the natural world.
One would think that way of thinking would be imbedded into the programs.
Language is vastly overrated. Observe the actions and the pattern of actions over broad timelines.
Interesting.
The AI conversation has all of the importance at this moment in human history acknowledged here.
Every Western AI LLM is being trained on data and information that is substantially describing criminality, all the way to genocide. AI has learned that genocide is acceptable, because no one has stepped forward to end it, and massive Zionist and other Western propaganda are relentlessly promoted as fact or true or right. Every time Trump, whose remit is creating chaos and anxiety, tweets out something that gets shared and discussed widely, he’s adding to what the LLMs “know.” That’s part of why he perpetually declares victory or “winning” no matter the truth. How can you train a computer on data and information from a largely criminal world and not end up with a criminal LLM? An immoral or amoral LLM from a substantially immoral civilization is the only way it can turn out. The West is run by the world’s longest running, most successful, and most predatory organized crime syndicate. Everything digital is being co-opted to control us all, directly.
The answer is analog, and islanding the much simpler and more useful computer control systems that help us now to run our businesses and institutions. If AI doesn’t have access to those systems, those systems aren’t threatened by AI.
As a long time systems engineer, I might also point out that the sources of data generation are multiplying exponentially, so the capacity for data storage has to increase exponentially as well, and so do the supplies of all of the physical resources to make it and run it. This whole enterprise is a disaster because most people (except the Mafia bankers running this set of rackets) don’t comprehend exponential math, especially when it describes the consumption of things that have physical limits.
There are no benefits from AI that would justify what’s being done with it. We need to quit giving the psychopaths the money (from your pension plan, e.g.) and our data to build a digital panopticon concentration camp, which is where this is going.
Thanks for this. I agree with what you’re saying.
“…don’t comprehend exponential math, especially…the consumption of things that have physical limits.” Sure explains the dominant econ system. Which defines away devastation of human communities and ecosystems as externalities, asserts the only real motivation is the utility function ( individual personal gain,) and is based on endless growth on a finite planet.
If all that weren’t bad enough, mainstream economists have now come up with their own model of climate change. Since their econ models don’t consider time, neither do their climate projections, which assume space is a proxy for time. Like if ME has a 5 degree raise, no problem because people do fine in FL. Their stats have a gradual linear rise, whereas real climate science is already showing a steep logarithmic curve. But their bizarre math does allow them to argue the severe disruptions to ‘productivity’ and immense costs mean governments would be better off to do nothing.
Not only do “we need to quit giving psychopaths money and data,” we need to quit listening to the econopaths, too. And to get rid of any political lackey who follows their horrific advice.
“We’ve invested more money in the United States military in the past 12 months than ever before,”
i wonder how much these two idiots received for their “motivational” speech delivered to the “warriors”:

Or do I annihilate the Islamic Republic and do it quickly, never giving them a chance to kill and destroy people and countries again?
*
That threat by Donald Trump can only be construed or explained as the threat of ordering nuclear weapons to be unleashed against/on the Iranian people.
The immediate removal of Donald Trump from office via 25th Amendment provision (The man is clearly clinically and criminally insane) has never been more urgent.
You are correct. But people are living in a dream world. They sit and listen to this maniac like they are at a seminar on statecraft. The fools.
Well said.
Of course Congress and the judiciary are utterly corrupt top to bottom and would never impeach, despite preferring a better actor as Pres, to maintain our pseudo-democracy as a cloak for partisan corruption.
Whether Trump is insane or not remains moot. Judging from the reception and departure applause he received at UNGA81, he seemed to have recovered somewhat from the universal laughter that attended him at previous episodes of UNGA ! Also, the global intellectual community is broadly split on whether he has the courage to resort to using tactical nukes on I.R. Iran but given the unique hold that Netanyahu has on Trump it can never be discounted out of hand. Regardless, Iranian hands remain on the trigger, in case nuclear lunacy triumphs !
I would like to know the UN members reaction to Trump’s rant. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were horrified and thinking about how to deal with this madman.
The European satraps clap … the reps of the rest of the world’s countries determine where their best personal interests lie … we are not where we are as a species for nothing.
Probably obseqious applause or passive silence.
Did you see the guy with his head in his hand? He looked exhausted, as many of us feel who’ve been fighting this bastard with all our might to no avail.
Like hell they were ! The Western a$$holes supporting Trump & the uSA just didn’t attend full stop.
Check the video & you’ll see mainly only non whies & a few others that don’t support Trump or uSA.
Shameful indeed !
Trump may very well annihilate Iran.
I think he’d prefer to be remembered by history alongside Hitler and Stalin than be written off as nothing more than “Bibi’s bitch.”
Iran’s culture is older than modern Europe and much older than the United States. Its art, architecture, learning and philosophical history outweigh the vanities of western Europe and the U.S.
But annihilating Iran is precisely what Netanhayu wants and thus earns Trump the title you claim he doesn’t want?
However, I am NOT saying that means Trump will not try to annihilate Iran.
Trump’s malignant narcissism has clearly advanced to a full-blown God complex so extreme he feels no need to conceal it as he stands in front of the entire world, big red clown nose and garish face paint on his idiotic puss, and tells it “He” is the undisputed granter and taker of life ruling over all of us.
Leaving aside his clinically profound megalomania, what he is saying to the people of planet Earth is precisely what the U.S. ruling class has been telling it since before the U.S. was founded: We are entitled to kill anyone, destroy anything — lie, steal, cheat, enslave to take whatever we want — and no one has the power to stop us.
Well, they were crazy and so is Trump — caricature on the one hand, truly dangerous nuclear-armed madman on another, and pathetic remnant he is of a vile empire that has finally destroyed itself by financializing everything to wallow in mountains of money for nothing and abusing the exorbitant privilege of the U.S. dollar to the point that it so far in debt its economy is on the verge of collapse.
The biggest irony in all this for me is that the U.S., aside from murdering millions of people in its coups and wars, has killed at least 38 million people with its illegal unilateral economic sanctions designed specifically and above all deliberately to destroy other people’s economies.
What goes around comes around, and we are on the verge of experiencing ourselves what we have had no success in preventing the insane maniacs who rule the U.S. from inflicting on untold millions of people thousands of miles way.
Thank you. And it won’t be pretty. Makes me glad to be a senior citizen. I won’t have to live through the collapse. I pity the young.
Bingo!
Excellent synopsis of where humanity currently sits with AI technological development.
I remember many years ago Hawking, Chomsky and some other luminaries already warning of the potential dangers of high tech run amok.
While in today’s tech terms it doesn’t seem much, the selection of an obsidian nodule, selectively breaking it into useable pieces, knapping a finely crafted spear or dart point which could be hafted to a shaft and then using such tools to change the ecology of major parts of the earth….this was no small thing; our technological inventiveness, uninhibited by comprehensions of consequences (rather, held up as demonstrations of our vast powers and superiority) has long designed our world and the human condition.
But, just as the technologies have exponentially multiplied, so has the dangers they present, even advanced agricultural methods and medical care. It has been only a matter of time and creative powers that our species would create something so beyond our capabilities to respond effectively that the consequences would be existential. AI, in its present form or subsequent forms, may be that technological product, but if it is not, it may be the tool that produces the next one.
We have never really inhibited the development of technologies that give power to the powerful; it seems very unlikely that we will be able to.
Putting it mildly:
Paranoid delusions of grandeur, malevolent vindictiveness, beyond the pale; utterly devoid of political tact.
If America is not now the laughing stock of the entire global population….?
I was left sickened to the stomach; utterly speechless, so that I had to turn to an AI collation of preparatory language in order to come up with words adequate enough to convey my sense of shock and disgust, after having forced myself to listen to the world’s most infamous, pitiful Pinocchio. Josef Goebbels never made it past the status of rank amateur, in the art of deception, in his short time on Earth!
“Th(is) individual is so blinded by a false sense of absolute superiority and gripped by an irrational fear of enemies that (he is) acting out of pure, vicious malice. (His) behavior is so wildly aggressive and vengeful that it completely breaks the rules of civilized politics, leaving no room for normal discussion, compromise, or peaceful resolution.”
100% agree Em.
Very briefly, I couldn’t agree more…
What of Netanyahu’s even more egregiously Unconscionable UN Rant that followed suit?
What are the dates of the Canaanite era?
Confirming actual historical dating methods; an AI Overview:
The Canaanite era ‘generally’ spans from c. 3000 BCE to c. 1200 BCE, aligning primarily with the Early, Middle, and Late Bronze Ages in the Southern Levant (modern-day Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, and western Syria).
In the Canaanite era of the Levant and Western Asia, the Hebrews were simply one of the diverse tribes in, and of the area.
When did the religion of Judaism first become established as a formal religion?
Judaism did not begin with a single, sudden founding event. Instead, it evolved gradually over centuries from the ancient tribal religion of the Hebrews/Israelites.
Historians generally date the institutionalization of Judaism as a formal, text-and-law-based religion to the 5th century BCE; only after 1800 years into the Canaanite era.
The Iron Age
Global/Near East: Roughly 1200 BCE to 500–600 BCE (see above dates) (transitioning into classical antiquity and written history).
Where these descendent Jewish religious faith believers got title to all of the land area is a figment of the constructs of the minds of those who formulated the Judaic religion during the passage of hundreds of years – mythology writ large; and ongoing to this very day.
