PATRICK LAWRENCE: War Against Individual Conscience

The head spins — while the Zionist regime goes on a persecutorial rampage against Christians, its imperial sponsor enables it at every turn in the name of Christian righteousness.

I cannot get past the recently published photograph of that Israeli soldier taking a sledgehammer to the crucified Jesus in southern Lebanon. And the thought that this was an isolated incident is too preposterous even to consider.

But, then, I cannot get past that altogether weird image of President Donald Trump dressed up as Jesus, laying a healing hand on a supine sufferer. Or, Trump having deleted this out of sheer embarrassment, a new one he posted depicting Jesus embracing him.

It has come to this in the 250th year of the American republic?

For that matter I cannot get out of my mind — this fascinates me to no end — Pete Hegseth’s daily preaching of Old Testament smiting and merciless killing “in the name of Jesus Christ.” Who is this man’s pastor?

And J.D. Vance telling Pope Leo with faux-authority he had better stay clear of theological questions because he, Pope Leo, is not qualified to comment on them. I will note this occasion without comment but to remind readers Leo is of the Order of St. Augustine.

The head spins. We have the Zionist regime on a persecutorial rampage against Christians, and we have its imperial sponsor enabling it at every turn in the name of Christian righteousness.

Say whaaa?

There is only one way to understand this heap of contradiction and hypocrisy. You have to view it, this tilt into the most profane sorts of religiosity, against the backdrop of U.S.–Israeli savagery in Gaza and the West Bank, U.S.–Israeli savagery in Lebanon and the savage attacks on Iran — all of this profoundly against any version of humanity, morality, decency and justice you can name.

And then you have to recognize that what is under attack in this single, unified assault on the human cause, apart from the Palestinians, Lebanese and Iranians who daily suffer these barbarities, is the individual conscience — that place in the human psyche wherein notions of morality, decency and justice reside, that place that gives rise to resistance in the face of depravity, atrocity and iniquity.

Zionist Pogrom on Christianity

To begin with, the spectacle of an I.D.F. soldier desecrating a crucifix was not an aberration by a rogue member of “the world’s most moral army,” as the Zionists like to advertise the Israel Defense Forces. Bibi Netanyahu professed to be “stunned and saddened.” Here is Gideon Sa`ar, his foreign minister, as quoted in The Times of Israel:

“I’m confident that the necessary strict measures will be taken against whoever carried out this ugly act. This shameful action is completely contrary to our values. Israel is a country that respects the different religions and their sacred symbols, and upholds tolerance and respect among faiths.”

Chutzpah, anyone?

The photo was taken in Debel, a Maronite community and one of the few Christian villages remaining in southern Lebanon. It appears to have been shot and circulated on social media on April 19. What it depicts is wholly in keeping with the pogrom — take it or leave it, I hold to the term — the Zionists now conduct against Christians.

Zionist fanatics (if the phrase is not redundant) have of late been aggressively and pointedly attacking Christians and their churches in Israel proper, in the West Bank and in Lebanon [and earlier in Gaza.]

Last month Israeli police blocked Pierbattista Pizzaballa and Father Francesco Ielpo, the Catholics’ senior clerics in the Holy Land, from celebrating Palm Sunday at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem.

A day after the incident at Debel was photographed, Almazidi Fatima, a Lebanese human rights activist, posted a video on “X” of a church I.D.F. soldiers turned into a latrine in the course of wrecking it.

Study the photograph of the soldier desecrating the crucified Jesus, just for a sec. He is sledgehammering the forehead, isn’t he?  In Christian iconography this is where consciousness and the conscience reside.

Who knows what was going on in the mind of the barbarian wielding the hammer, but mine goes to why Zionists nurse so visceral a hatred toward Christians. It is precisely the privilege the man on the cross awarded the individual — his or her thoughts, judgments and certainly conscience. This is why, when Christians honor the spirit, it is “the Holy Spirit” and gets capitalized.

The Old Testament privileges not the individual or the individual spirit but external authority. In the Torah, the first five books — Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy — the Law of Moses is laid down and obedience to it is decreed the imperative.

This explains, to take a ready-to-hand case, why the Zionist leadership regularly cites the Amalekites, the hostile tribes (by the evidence probably mythical) that God commanded the Israelites to destroy, in order to explain their slaughter today of Palestinians:  It is written, God commands it.

A Radical Misinterpretation

Israel Shahak, the late (and controversial) Israeli scholar explains the primacy of authority in the rabbinical tradition with brilliant clarity in Jewish History, Jewish Religion: The Weight of Three Thousand Years (Pluto, 1994). Independent thought, to say nothing of conscience, were not to be taught: Obedience to the law and the authority of the rabbi were to be taught.

[But Jesus said all of Moses’ Law can be reduced to two commandments: “Love God and your neighbor.” (Matthew 22:36-40, NIV)]

Do not wonder, I mean to say, how Zionists can in good conscience treat Palestinians and various others so abominably. As Christians mean this term, they have no conscience. They act in accordance with the law of the Torah, or — I must add this immediately — a radical misinterpretation of it.

It is not Judaism, any more than the Islam of al–Nusra is Islam or the Christianity of Christian Zionists is Christianity. It is “Israelism,” or Zionism, and I consider either term valid to name the phenomenon.

I come to Pete Hegseth and the beyond-belief buffoon who still — also beyond belief —resides in the White House. There is no selling obedience to higher authorities in the land of the free and home of the brave — not to hyper-individual Americans.

Hegseth delivering remarks to L3Harris employees as part of his “Arsenal of Freedom Tour,” Camden, Ark., in February.  (DoW /Alexander Kubitza)

Equally, in these people’s minds (and in history), America is a Christian nation — a Christian nation complicit in the Zionists’ genocide, a Christian nation that has nothing to say as the Zionists attack Christians in the streets of Jerusalem and desecrate their churches and icons.

What these two and others in the Trump regime come out with therefore bears interpretation.

Here is the defense secretary holding one of his prayer meetings at the Pentagon on March 25, his first after the U.S.–Israeli attacks on Iran:

“Let every round find its mark against the enemies of righteousness and our great nation. Give them wisdom in every decision, endurance for the trial ahead, unbreakable unity, and overwhelming violence of action against those who deserve no mercy.”

The enemies of righteousness, overwhelming violence, those who deserve no mercy: Hegseth, who follows the Congregation of Reformed Evangelical Churches, passes off utterances such as this — of which many — as Christian. How this? Why?

And here is President Trump doing his bit for “America Reads the Bible,” a frightening exercise in over-the-top religious fervor extended, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., over a week. Trump read last Tuesday — not from Matthew or Mark, not from the Acts, but from 2 Chronicles 7: 11–22, wherein God speaks to Solomon after the latter has completed the First Temple.

The passage in part:

As for you, if you walk before me faithfully as David your father did, and do all I command, and observe my decrees and laws, I will establish your royal throne, as I covenanted with David your father when I said, ‘You shall never fail to have a successor to rule over Israel.’

But if you turn away and forsake the decrees and commands I have given you and go off to serve other gods and worship them, then I will uproot Israel from my land, which I have given them, and will reject this temple I have consecrated for my Name. I will make it a byword and an object of ridicule among all peoples. This temple will become a heap of rubble….”

Why don’t these two simply pledge allegiance to the Zionist state and have done with it?  Why don’t they come out and condemn acts of conscience or judgments of the Iran war, the genocide in Gaza and all the rest — conscience itself, indeed — in the name of authority and obedience?

It is not “in the American grain” is the simple answer. And so the Trump regime resorts to implicit condemnations of the individual conscience, always in the name of Jesus, which is to say in the name of the individual conscience.

There can be no surprise here: These people have already led us into “an abyss of lawlessness” in the name of law.

And there can be no surrendering to these charlatans, no foregoing one’s conscience as the foundation stone of resistance, Christian or otherwise, no bowing to authority or obedience to it.

Footnote: Last Wednesday the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a Texas law requiring public schools to display the Ten Commandments in all classrooms, saying it does not violate the separation of church and state.  The law mandates the size and typeface of these displays and requires they be visible from everywhere in each classroom.

Shining a bright light on endless atrocities and fraudulent justifications for same. Sad that brings out anti-Christian bigotry from some of its readers.

The Romans converted religions in order to convert imaginary gods in service to military technology for profit motives and then blended in the Viking raiding party ethics for top predator status as corporate institutionalized profit motives in hostile takeover economics with rotating countries in play..

A very good statement of the tyrant’s abuse of religion to control those with social and economic dependencies on the group. If religions were modernized as means of moral education for all ages, they would not rely upon threats to adults, but would educate citizens to reject those excessive dependencies, to see the tyrants seeking to control them, to seek rational solutions through debate rather than applying vague myths etc. But then they would be useless to the tyrant, and their clergy disempowered.

I think it’s long past time to go back to Paganism which Christianity replaced. It’s an ancient religion which centers the natural world. It’s not mentioned in the Bible. I wonder why? It’s not about controlling human consciousness? Perhaps someone will enlighten me if I misunderstand. Only beginning to learn through a friend. It feels more peaceful to me. I don’t recall reading about Pagan genocides.

Much of the angst and confusion around these issues (not just the concerns with the hypocrisies of Judaism, Christianity, Islam and their various extreme forms) come clearer when it is understood that institutional religions are fundamentally political systems co-opting the basic biological religious process of the human animal. Humans organize their actions from belief, not immediate stimulus; a learned belief always resides between input and response, other than reflexes. This dependence on belief requires that a belief have authority — thus the attribution of authority by creating a social construct: ghosts, ancestors, gods. This process gets captured by political processes of social hierarchy; it has long been unattached from fundamental realities and commonly denies Reality. It is ad hoc, adaptive to the recent moment and always contains the seeds of exploitation.

This is the dilemma, institutional religions, for all the extraneous politically driven details of belief, still contain important elements of moral and ethical principles, those beliefs that seem universal to human societies. But, the religious process of assigning authority to belief is powerful; most people will die with the beliefs that they presently hold as essential truth.

Somehow we need to reject the politicization of the religious process while understanding that humans function through belief systems that seek sources of authority to support them; find and value sources of authority outside of human desires and greed.

The truth about the Bible – I read and believed it for years and still find the teachings of Jesus the most profound joining of pacifist morality and commonsense communitarian vision- is that there is no unified voice of truth, law or spirituality to be found there. The same Yawheh who in the core body of law says “You shalt not kill “also commands the Amalekite massacre and other acts of slaughter. I saw many Christian believers in my earlier life stop reading the Bible because of the confusion that comes from trying to hear a singular vision or a consistent moral message from God. They end up focusing on verses, denominational emphasis or translations that reinforcethat narrow doctrinal bias.. Then there is the large division among Christians that comes from Jesus denial of the authority of the Pharisees and the scriptures. Oddly, heavy bible-reading Christian denominations spend most of their teaching and emphasis on Paul and the OT. They do not fight to get the Sermon on the Mount into schools but the 10 commandments, and then they insist on exceptions to the commandment to abstain from killing, which in their view never applies to the killing of communists, indigenous peoples, Islamic believers, Russians, Palestinians, etc. . But current hypocrisy is not new. The justification of wars of aggression and colonialism in the name of God is central to what is called Western history and those who promoted those wars are far more likely to quote the most Zionist parts of the Tanakh than Roman emperors or Alexander the “Great”. The theology is always dubious. If God is almighty and occasionally kills hole armies why does he need hit men to smite him some heathen?

Obedience to authority and even the laws of God are not absolute in the OT and it is notable that Jews did not want exceptions for obedience when it came to trails for Nazi war crimes. There is a story where Jonathan , the son of King Saul lies about the whereabouts of David, following a higher law of conscience. Prophets wail against Israel and the Sanhedrin for their emphasis on ritual sacrifices and disregard for the poor and widows.

*** My friend, Joseph. I understand your analytical deductions. I must respectfully say that, they have been derived from the exploitative ways in which mortal Humans have abused the Scriptures, of both the Old and New Testaments, in order to fulfill their own nefarious personal and tribal agendas, not from the standpoint of necessarily recognizing that God’s and Yahweh sovereign authority must prevail, but rather, conducive to their own egocentric ideological addictions to: What’s in it for me-myself-and-I, given that we have a collective agenda to push because we also have “an axe to grind.” Thus, the fault intrinsically resides in the DNA-wired corrupt ingrained vicissitudes of our “intractable Human Nature,” and not in the Good Word itself.

The Gospel Message, in its essential Fundamental Content, is always positive, however, in agreement with you, I must admit that, Human history proves that biblical illustrations of what is Good for us to preserve and what is Evil for us to avoid, have been “put in a hodge-podge of contradictory principles” that predispose Humankind for “psychological conditioning” to exploit the Gospel Message for their own self-serving purposes that are anchored, not in genuinely practicing mutually beneficial spiritual reasoning that yields altruistic consequences and charitable results, but rather, focused on selfish ambitions that feed covetousness, greed, enmity, hostility, division and confusion, in order to implement their worldview, adopted from godless materialist philosophies and doctrines, like Marxism, Darwinism, Zionism, Freudianism, and Existentialism that impel Humans to deride and reject a transcendent understanding of Eternal Continuum characterizing our terrestrial temporal existence.

A sense of Eternity affirming that the present conditions only prepare us for a “cause greater than Self,” nurtures reverent relationships with God and respectful relations with Humanity, sums of which, that overcome the natural flaws embedded within our temporary mortal biological lives that predispose us, to focus only on material acquisitions that cater to bodily needs. But, Human experience also proves that we are more than “mere physiological biology” and that we possess spiritual capacities and mental endowments for creative intelligence and righteous deeds that “set us apart” from the rest of natural Creation. This focus on material possessions that only satisfy bodily needs yield, self-centered error-prone judgments, possessive emotional obsessions, compulsive acquisitive motives, and a predisposition to aggressive violence, made manifest in our willful actions that are prone to disregard the legitimate social needs, both individual and collective, demanded by our spiritual-moral Character as “Beings created unto the image and likeness of God.” A psychological addiction that caters only to the material satisfaction of bodily physical necessities geared only to satisfy Human needs that depend upon ownership of “physical things” and “material rewards” not only stultify and stunt our spiritual growth for emotional maturity, but also, reduces our whole existential temporal lifespan on the Earth, to “animalistic attitudes” analogous to the “instinctual urgings” driving “lower forms of biological life” on the Earth, to only “breathe and move” for acquiring ecological resources targeting only “bodily necessities,” including self-reproductive activities, rather than, for fulfilling all our transcendent, non-physical, abstract, invisible, untouchable, and intangible “inner-Being endowments” predisposing us for yearnings that lay “beyond Materialism,” but that rather, emerge from our educational development based in learning and practicing Good spiritual principles climaxing into “religious faith” that is conducive to nourishing and nurturing habits of logical thinking that will result in empowering our intellectual capacities for righteous discernment of what is truly morally right to do, in both principle and practice, not only for ourselves, but also for our fellow Human Beings.

After all, we die and go six-feet-under, leaving behind all the physical-material ideologies and their forcible acquisitions that prompted our willful urgings to emphasize the lawless exercise of Criminal Violence in order to achieve nefarious ends machinated for “Conquest of Spoils,” because, in the end: “There is no U-Haul behind a Hearse.” Therefore, only our HUMAN RELATIONSHIPS matter for prioritizing how we treat each other, thus, settling once and for all, how we, equal Mortals who are only “passing through,” freely decide to “spiritually-morally interface” in our earthly transactions with each other, as we exercise our common God-endowed rights to justly deserving equal access to all earthly resources, so as to peaceably, lawfully, freely and justly address our necessarily cultivated acquisitive attitudes toward “possessing and owning the lifeless material things” of terrestrial ecology, that we utilize, in both production and consumption, to ultimately satisfy our peculiarly biological, and specifically physiological, personal and collective physical bodily needs for: Food, Clothing, Shelter, Comfort, and Societal Safety, Education and Healthcare, Prosperity and Security, sums of which, can only be constitutionally secured, guaranteed, safeguarded, protected, and defended, solely from our “mentally generated,” freely consented, mutually agreeable, and commonly observed, necessarily cultivated and nurtured, routinely taught and habitually practiced, individually and collectively, genuine commitment to faithful adherence to certain, positively beneficial and validly advantageous, abstract spiritual-moral principles, i.e., We hold these Truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal….;” “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you;” “Love God with all thy strength…and love thy neighbor as thy own self;” “Constitutional Due Process of Law;” “The Equal Protection of the Laws;” etc…, sums of which, that inherently embody the REQUIRED CIVILIZED FUNDAMENTALS that embed the transcendent instructional direction and God-inspired behavioral guidance, so direly necessitated, for our healthily provided bodily growth, educationally instituted mental development, and spiritually cultivated and morally attuned emotional maturity, both individually and socially, sums of which, that mandate we freely commit to engage, without fear or compulsion, in practicing Human Relations emphasising Human Dignity, Human Decency, Kindness, and Compassion, all of which, derived from our commonly gifted inner-capacities for mutually edifying cognitive understanding and comprehensible recognition, that, undeniably and incontrovertibly, we are naturally endowed with miraculously mysterious, Human Species-Specific Character-Qualities empowering us with both abstract Spiritual-Moral Gifts for Truthful Discernment of the Good that can be generated from peaceable and just Human Relations, as well as, with Experiential Scientific Technological Ingenuity for “transforming” these abstract transcendent God-endowed spiritual-moral Gifts into mutually beneficial and reciprocally advantageous Productive Activities, that, when properly administered in accordance with the free principles constituting the REQUIRED CIVILIZED FUNDAMENTALS framing our representative, democratically elected, republican Form of Free Self-Government constitutionally declaring and rightfully proclaiming us: ONE NATION, UNDER GOD INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL, must, undeniably evoke, scientifically necessitate, and logically mandate that we are indeed, much more than “mere biological Organisms,” for only, our exceptionally unique, divinely created, natural Stature on the Earth as The Human Species, living above and beyond all other lower terrestrial life-forms, in mutually purposed and intentionally framed, beneficial socio-economic political conditions, that, without a doubt, NECESSITATE, DEMAND, REQUIRE, AND OBLIGE all of us, to honestly endeavor to live by and adhere to, such SPIRITUAL-MORAL PRINCIPLES OF MUTUALLY RECIPROCATED HUMAN DIGNITY AND DECENCY that continue to provide us, in both Principle and Action, with perpetually secured Human Species Biological Continuum, for faithfully and trustworthily persevering to equally, justly, freely, peaceably and lawfully prosper, within this void, barren, vast, Lifeless Cosmic Universe, together in mutually agreeable unison: Lest the “better angels of our Nature” are eventually vanquished, toward accomplishing a horrific, catastrophic, terrifying ending surreptitiously cloaked as “Socially Conditioned Darwinian Progress” in fulfillment of its hellish doctrine of “Struggle for Survival of the Fittest,” that ultimately climaxes into Mutually Assured Global Nuclear Suicide. ***

Domination of the individual and collective consciousness, I am coming to believe, is the holy grail (pun intended) of the tech transhumanists who, to their sinister ends, pull the strings of the political class.
So, yea, thanks for your thoughts and observations of this principle in action.

I don’t disagree about Zionism, but Christianity isn’t exactly known for it’s respect for individual conscience either. Most churches (including and especially the Catholic Church) expect their members to strictly obey the Bible as interpreted by Church leadership. Catholic hospitals have let women die of sepsis rather than “abort” a fetus that’s already dead. Legions of LGBTQ youth have been turned out into the streets (and some even killed) by their “Christian” parents. And don’t even get me started on historical events like the witch hunts and the Inquisition. Where’s the individual conscience there?

I am a dedicated atheist and all religions repel me, but especially Christianity. The early Christians were anti-knowledge, anti-philosophy, and against all forms of learning. They burned books, destroyed art and murdered philosophers, including Hypatia, the mother of science and rationality. Christianity was responsible for the Crusades and every European invasion and destruction of ancient civilizations, and it STILL IS . You can write paragraph after paragraph attempting to defend the idea of a “creator” and a “god”, but it’s all bullshit to control and destroy the human mind.

People told stories around the campfire in front of their caves. There was no TV; Our milky way galaxy was vivid overhead. The most popular stories about what was in clear night sight overhead became religions. Greek gods were stars of great stories.

Now we know Cosmos is a sea of space full of galaxies like the Milky Way. It took Cosmos almost fourteen billion years to evolve a conscious being able to see and know Cosmos and itself as part of the same whole.

Going backward in time is impossible.

***Excellent analytical expose of how Zionism continues to corrupt, not only Christian principles of morality, peace, love, justice, compassion, friendship, generosity and hospitality, but Zionism also “supplants” every other Form of divine inspiration for thinking logically so as to spiritually reason what is morally right to DO. As President Abraham Lincoln so movingly and eloquently put it during a public Address at Cooper Institute, New York, on February 27, 1860, as our regrettable American Civil War 1861-1865, was dishonoring our national motto IN GOD IS OUR TRUST and was decimating of the God-inspired free principles of republican self-government that impelled all Americans to honor and respect Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness for all Americans and even for all other people looking up to us for the right direction to travel on the Earth for freely determining their own national self-destiny IN ORDER TO FORM A MORE PERFECT UNION as they conscientiously and truthfully collaborate together to protect, preserve, and defend all the Christian principles that entreat us all to learn, teach, and practice Human Relations that exemplify not only our own faithfulness in adhering to their mutually advantageous benefits, but also edify our reciprocal inner-desires and outer-will for honoring and strengthening these foundational spiritual principles and moral values that elevate our mortal Human existence beyond mere materialist ends, because, our Creator has “put Eternity in our hearts,” such that, between us all, Justice, Liberty, Peace, Lawfulness, Freedom reign with mutually expressed Human dignity and Human decency, in order to individually, collectively, and equally enjoy “our secured blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity” by honestly and genuinely commit to act in ways that embed means, resources, assets, and opportunities conducive to our common fulfillment of our equal entitlement from our Merciful Creator Almighty God to peaceably, justly, lawfully, and freely avail ourselves of all the divinely gifted miraculous diversity of terrestrial Resources that are conducive to both individual and collective prosperity, birth from our mutual faith in God’s goodness as we practice and exercise our God-endowed inalienable constitutional rights and freedoms of religion, thought, speech, expression, press, peaceable assembly and right to petition the government for a redress of grievances, without dissimulation and ulterior motives, without fear or compulsion, but due to our God-imparted conscience that exhorts us to not only have the wisdom to know the fundamental difference in our “knowledge of Good and Evil,” but to also, to be bold, assertive and confident in our transcendent divinely inspired understanding of the life-giving and liberty-preserving necessity for deliberately and freely choosing to “cling to what is Good” by actually DOING it, even while at the same time, by earnestly endeavoring to freely, justly, peaceably lawfully, and constructively purpose to, individually and collectively, without fear, compulsion or dissimulation, to exercise our God-endowed inalienable constitutional rights and freedoms to constructively dissent, oppose, condemn and abhor what we do know and understand to be patently wrong and flagrantly evil, due to the destructive and deadly consequences of our deliberately chosen Evil actions, that climax into preventing us from having a CLEAR CONSCIENCE for authentically Good Standing before both our Creator Almighty God, before each other, before all Humanity, in sum, BEFORE HEAVEN AND EARTH, which will equally, empower us with the guiltless confidence to personally and collectively participate in protecting, preserving and defending WHAT IS GOOD FOR US ALL while also freely, peaceably, justly and lawfully commit to act in REDRESSING THE HISTORICALLY INGRAINED GRIEVANCES that continue to mar and soil, pollute and corrupt, and debilitate our legitimate national global moral authority predisposing the whole world to, not only, desire and believe, but to also, act and support God’s miraculous superintendence over Human affairs that has historically contributed to establish the propitious domestic and international conditions and relations that progressively climaxed into our great nation, the United States of America, becoming the mutually edifying “historical heir” of this blessed and miraculous inheritance on the Earth, after all is said and done, of the most privileged gift, of the most morally honorable bestowal, and most spiritually justified, in accordance with God’s righteous pleasing Will and Humanity’s compassionate consideration toward our predestined earthly position to perpetually prosper UNDER GOD as a freely self-governed democratically elected representative republic as THE LEADER OF THE FREE WORLD, not because of our destructive bombs or other forms of deadly earthly commendation, that inspire fear or breed violence, but because, as our Honorable Illustrious Fellow Patriotic American, President Abraham Lincoln, moved by God’s spiritual direction, prophetic discernment, and moral guidance to pronounce, proclaim and declare, on February 27, 1860, in a public Address at COOPER INSTITUTE, NEW YORK, these historically proven self-evident factual Truths and experientially affirmed veracities, that were pre-designed and prepared, before us, for our authentic fulfillment of our divinely ordained earthly common Human destiny on this Planet and in the whole Universe: “LET US HAVE FAITH THAT RIGHT MAKES MIGHT, AND IN THAT FAITH, LET US, TO THE END, DARE TO DO OUR DUTY AS WE UNDERSTAND IT! And again, during our regrettable American Civil War 1861-1865, “the savior of our blessed American Union,” President Abraham Lincoln, on December 1, 1862 in a public Address to a Joint-Congress of the United States of America: WE SAY WE ARE FOR THE UNION. THE WORLD WILL NOT FORGET THAT WE SAY THIS. WE KNOW HOW TO SAVE THE UNION. THE WORLD KNOWS WE KNOW HOW TO SAVE IT. WE – EVEN WE HERE – HOLD THE POWER, AND BEAR THE RESPONSIBILITY. IN GIVING FREEDOM TO THE SLAVE, WE ASSURE FREEDOM TO THE FREE – HONORABLE ALIKE IN WHAT WE GIVE, AND WHAT WE PRESERVE. WE SHALL NOBLY SAVE OR MEANLY LOSE THE LAST BEST HOPE OF EARTH. OTHER MEANS MAY SUCCEED, THIS COULD NOT FAIL. THE WAY IS PLAIN, PEACEFUL, GENEROUS, JUST – A WAY WHICH, IF FOLLOWED, THE WORLD WILL FOREVER APPLAUD, AND GOD MUST FOREVER BLESS. ***

If not so deadly and destructive, one could be amused by Trump’s assigned reading from Chronicles. It does, after all, warn the kings of Israel not to forsake the covenant with God, which they then and now, clearly have done. And Trump quite literally worships his golden idols. Indeed, he is “the object of ridicule among all peoples.”
