Another interesting view on current global events was made by Brian Berletic of “The New Atlas” on his recent Youtube presentation “Day 11: A US War on Iran is a US War on China – US “Distant Blockade” Placed on China”.
He sees the Iran/US war as a preamble to the main event – a war on China. America sees China as the only threat to their continuing hegemony.
China’s three main suppliers of oil have been Venezuela, Iran, and Russia. The US has stopped Venezuelan supplies and is now destroying Iran’s oil production.
Brian says the US’ primary aim in Iran is to keep the war going long enough to deplete China’s oil reserves.
after listening to this very informative discussion, I am led to wonder: how is it that the US and Israel heads of state and key individuals have not been targeted? is it fear of whatever reprisal might be engendered? and would such a reprisal actually occur under these circumstances?
You know what’s a little bit funny is that these lame arguments being used to justify aggression on Iran, contradictory & jumble-mouthed as they are, are all the Administration had cobbled together in case they had to make some kind of shambolic justification to the media or to Congress. A bunch of half-unraveled softballs Rubio could toss disparagingly into the ring.
Yep, I think Patrick H. put his thumbprint right on it. The level of corruption & lawlessness has reached such a peak that the institutional checks, take your pick, have been so captured & cowed by the vicious exercise of naked executive (sorry for that image) power; that there is no pushback to speak of because a pall of fear lies over the land & rears its head in many places in many ugly ways.
Most Democrats in Congress pushed for a vote on War Powers. But do you think they would have voted no war if it came up? Now watch, they’re getting ready to vote on the $ part, half-billion I think I read, to boost the illegal war in the Persian Gulf. How many Dems do you think will vote for that given their strong trend to fund ongoing genocidal war in Gaza and half-proxy, fully-funded aggression against Russia in Ukraine?
Seems like a re-run of the same old song & dance, bait & switch tactics.
