One noncommissioned officer told the Military Religious Freedom Foundation that he was directed to tell his troops that Trump was “anointed by Jesus” and that war with Iran was “all part of God’s divine plan” to bring about Armageddon.

In less than a week, the U.S. and Israel’s war has rendered unfathomable suffering upon the people of Iran. Over 180 schoolgirls and staffers were killed in a massacre this weekend, and several hospitals have reportedly been struck, amid numerous other attacks on civilians.
But some U.S. troops are being told the bloodletting is all a part of God’s plan.
At a briefing on Monday, as President Donald Trump unleashed what has been called a “carpet bombing” of Tehran, a combat-unit commander reportedly told noncommissioned officers (NCOs) that the commander-in-chief was “anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth.”
The complaint, sent by one of those noncommissioned officers, was just one of at least 110 similar reports received by the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) since Trump first launched strikes on Saturday.
In compliance with the First Amendment, the Department of Defense has long adopted rules against proselytizing within the armed forces. But under Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, an evangelical Christian who has said the West must wage a “crusade” against Islam, Christian nationalist invocations in the military have become commonplace.
The death toll from this air strike on an elementary school on Saturday is now nearly 180, and 95 injured. Most of those killed were girls aged between 7-12 years old. @UNESCO calling it “a grave violation of international law.” https://t.co/MEsJugD4eA

Mikey Weinstein, the president and founder of MRFF and an Air Force veteran who served in the White House of former President Ronald Reagan, told independent journalist Jonathan Larsen that the group has been “inundated” with complaints from NCOs since Saturday, which all have “one damn thing in freaking common.”
“Our MRFF clients report the unrestricted euphoria of their commanders and command chains as to how this new ‘biblically-sanctioned’ war is clearly the undeniable sign of the expeditious approach of the fundamentalist Christian ‘End Times’ as vividly described in the New Testament Book of Revelation,” Weinstein said.
“Many of their commanders,” he added, “are especially delighted with how graphic this battle will be, zeroing in on how bloody all of this must become in order to fulfill and be in 100% accordance with fundamentalist Christian end-of-the-world eschatology.”

According to Larsen, who first reported on the MRFF’s findings on Monday, the message has been spread far and wide as U.S. troops rained missiles down upon Iran.
Larsen reported that the “complaints came from more than 40 different units spread across at least 30 military installations,” and have involved commanders in every branch of the U.S. military.
One noncommissioned officer, who did not identify himself out of fear of retaliation, said his commander “urged us to tell our troops that this was ‘all part of God’s divine plan’ and he specifically referenced numerous citations out of the Book of Revelation referring to Armageddon and the imminent return of Jesus Christ.”
The NCO added that his commander “had a big grin on his face when he said all of this, which made his message seem even more crazy.”
“Our commander would probably be described as a ‘Christian First’ supporter,” he said. “He has been this way for a very long time and makes it clear that he desires all of us under him to become just like him as a Christian. But what he did this morning was so toxic and over the line that it shocked many of us in attendance at the ops readiness briefing.”
The NCO identified himself as a Christian, but emailed MRFF on behalf of 15 of his troops, which included at least one Muslim and one Jewish person.
He said that their commanders’ remarks “destroy morale and unit cohesion and are in violation of the oaths we swore to support the Constitution.”

Christian nationalism has long simmered just under the surface of U.S. military culture and has been invoked by presidents of the past, including George W. Bush, who referred to his War on Terror as a “crusade.”
But Hegseth, who regularly hosts Christian prayer services at the Pentagon during work hours, rails against “secular humanism” and the “godless left,” and has hosted the notorious fundamentalist pastor Doug Wilson — who opposes the right of women to vote and calls for the U.S. to be a Christian theocracy — at the Pentagon, has dropped any pretenses of religious pluralism.
“While America’s relationship with Iran is influenced by all the typical geopolitical factors of oil, culture, and nuclear weaponry, there is a part of American foreign policy that is influenced by apocalyptic evangelical theology,” wrote Josh Olds, a pastor and theologian, on Monday for Baptist News Global.
Christian fundamentalists, some of whom have the ear of the White House, he said, view an Iranian war with Israel as central to triggering Armageddon, during which God will miraculously strike down Israel’s enemies, Jesus will return to Earth, and Christians will be raptured to Heaven, according to Biblical teachings.
He said that while Iran’s Muslim leaders are often accused of being dangerously irrational out of blind religious fundamentalism, “it is increasingly clear that American actions are shaped by it as well.”
Tomorrow, I will bring a message titled: “God’s Coming Operation Epic Fury.”
We will discover what Scripture says about Iran, why Israel is central to God’s prophetic timeline, and how God Himself promises to intervene.

In just over three days, U.S. and Israeli strikes have killed at least 787 people in Iran, according to a Tuesday report from the Iranian Red Crescent Society, including hundreds of civilians. In addition to schoolsand hospitals, attacks have been reported against crowded residential buildings, a radio and TV broadcast center, and a sports complex.
“Donald Trump partnered with Israel to bomb Iran because of the influence of an eschatology that sees conflict with Iran as setting the stage for fulfilled prophecy,” Olds said.
“The irony is profound: A faith centered on loving enemies and making peace becomes a framework that welcomes and advocates violence. The result is not the advance of God’s kingdom but its irrevocable damage in the eyes of the world.”

(Reading through the comments): OMG (sic) folks, this has nothing of substance to do with any one, or several, belief system; it is about a fundamental way that the human animal constructs images (stories) of operational realities…and then can’t comprehend that those stories are not Reality writ large. Until a substantial number of us fully function within such understanding, the many stresses ‘that we are heir to’ will always devolve into the kind of madness that our history shows as continuous repetition. Seeking explanations in religious texts, no matter how ‘enlightened’ the impulse, just spins us in the same circularity.
Ok ,
Can I still hold onto “Thou Shall Not”
I think I got a grip on that one .
But treading lighty .
The problem, So True, is that without foundational principles outside of a belief system anything can be believed: belief systems that create their own authority of truth, have none!

I myself am not a Christian, for which I have my reasons. However I am struck by something that Jesus said that is very apt for those, especially those claiming to be Christians or followers of Jesus Christ, who want to facilitate bringing about Armageddon, and thereby expedite the supposed second coming of Jesus Christ.
It must needs be that trials and tribulations will come, but woe to those by whom they come!! It would be better for such to have a millstone wrung about their neck and be thrown into the sea, than that they should offend one of these little ones (e.g. schoolgirls in Iran). (Luke 17:1-2)
Fundamentalists never look into the details………but their disregard for the sacredness of all life is gargantuan.
In their apocryphal “testament”, Jesus must love hypocrisy. Yeah, that must be why they practice it so much. Not to mention killing.
Just a little while back, King Geo the Younger revealed God hath spake to him, even unto his ear & told him his killings be justified.
So who are we supposed to believe, Father or Son?
And God said to Abraham …
Maybe they’re just waiting for Him to stay their hand?

That’s what it’s about. No holds barred. Oh, and the fact that they get a rush from mowing down unarmed & defenseless women, children, old men. Doesn’t matter. No rules, baby!

InDead ! 0f CUR$E, if Israel is trying to precipitate Armageddon; it could jest bomb itself : at tel Megiddo (about 12 miles outta Haifa : hxxps://duckduckgo.com/?q=Tel+megiddo&iaxm=maps&source=about ); Instead of its genocidal pilots over an Iranian GIRLS’ SCHOOL – “At least 50 children have been killed & ~60 injured in an Israeli air strike on a girls’ school in Minab in #Iran’s southern Hormozgan province” !!
If these fundies are going to insist on biblical literalness, then include Revelation 7:3 (KJV) “Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.”
Since obviously this hasn’t happened yet, they should all be raging eco-activists in the meantime.
Also Rev 11:18 “…Thou shouldest give reward to thy servants…and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.”
Why isn’t that proclaimed? Because they’re enamored with a horrific fantasy of the violent, bloody end of everybody not exactly like them. Never mind JC and those silly Beatitudes, like (ugh)–“blessed are the peacemakers.”
They aren’t real Christians, though most don’t know that…………what they are, is a question we shouldn’t minimize. There is something about anxiety and fear that takes many down a fundamentalist path. I think that was part of what turned a complex and civilized place like Iran into a fundamentalist nation. And today, it’s hard to argue Iran’s fears of the west were unfounded……….
What Christian nationalists in the most powerful nation on earth are afraid of, is another question…….but a love of violence and bloodshed of this size has to come from somewhere?? No children are born this absolutely evil.

True………but surely, imaging you might own your own oil as Mossadegh did, was surely a violation of some rule of the lord?????
White fossil fools make me sick.
Many of those who joined the military services after the cancelling of the selective service ‘Draft’ should have been obvious to anyone paying any attention. Igot drafted in May 1968, as a direct result of I developed a keen interest in all things military especially the quality and their religious beliefs. The God and Country group are especially drawn to the various national guard branches, as well as the various U.S. Armed Forces. Many feel they serve a higher calling by serving in the military part time in the individual branches of those services especially the Air Guard. We can find white nationalist represented there, right along with White Power advocates. Right wing fundamentalist also serving God while serving the U.S. of A. Much of it occurring under the leadership of war criminal Ronald Raygun and his silent majority. IMO representing hysterical, religious extremist who happen to be American citizens
We now are experiencing the blow back from those ‘True Believers. Are these the individuals Trump referred to as being losers and chumps for joining the services as professionals? I am convinced this is the case. Reading, learning and believing everything in the Bible is not necessary to address the problem here will ignoring Trump his cult.
I can leave addressing he comments of Bruce Considine later. Note however his comments are longer or as long as those made by Stephen Prager. I’m just making an observation on who I thinks the least sense.
This Armageddon, Return of Jesus, B.S. by TRUMP & Co. should have been in everyone’s thoughts. It is not as if no one has made these claims before and been wrong. Trump a compulsive liar is not a reliable source for ANY information. IMO.
He does not and never has had any belief in the rule of law, now consider his godlyness! A person who is morally bankrupt has to have had morals to lose them. Trump fails to qualify. He is amoral and always has been. SEE: His list of life time achievements.
Trump is no different than all others who fall into the category of those who want to go to heaven, his twelve year old mentality finds contentment in this hallucination he is obsessed with. He wants to go to heaven but he DOES not want to die. A very real prospect he faces in his immediate future.
As commander in chief he should be ordered to step down based on his mental failure by the U.S. Congress. He is in constant violation of his oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution. His criminal activities too numerous to mention should be reason enough alone to remove him form office. Why? Does anyone seriously he is stable enough to hold the destruction of the planet and everything on it.
He has to go away! FULL STOP!
NO NUKES!
Many wonderful comments on this article. I should add my bit. There is entirely too much talk about a god in comments, too much talk about an entity of vapid understanding or meaning. Yet, sane people are willing to die for what an ancient people said that this entity told them 3,000 years ago about people that may never have existed. Insanity! It seems for the look of it, and for actions this god has caused, to be one of cloven feet.
Many are the false prophets proclaiming the false gods…………as for the divinity of the earth, the sacredness of the miracle that is life…..all life…………….those two divinities get short shrift in the old testament patriarchal rantings that most often characterize fundamentalist Christianity.
As soon as any part of the life web is demonized or brutalized you have to know: you are dealing with a dark power, a deep unknowing and a kind of hysteria or insanity that has to claim absolute authority for its crimes against nature.
As soon as Nature, human nature included………is despised, demonized, destroyed……..it’s a death wish walking, a dead man talking.
They should have had more experience nurturing little children………..they’d have understood then that when Jesus said, “Suffer the little children”………he meant allow them, not punish them.
These men are mostly sick souls……saddists, rapists, child molesters in plain sight. We need to put them in places where they can do no damage, until our medical experts figure out how to heal the demons in their heads.
They threaten all life on earth.
Once the U.S. Military became. volunteer it became a “Professional Military” The membership changed. Right wingers were attracted. I would like to remind everyone Pat Tillman was killed by friendly fire that wasn’t!
Revelation wasn’t included in the Canon (approved-book list) of the New Testament until 419. Many reasons, church-organizational and doctrinal, for the hesitation. Mainly that the god depicted in Revelation is not recognizable as a god of love and compassion, but rather violence and revenge. Also, it was felt that the content would be open to wild misinterpretation by persons simply too uninformed properly to comment. As the centuries have amply confirmed. But it was included anyhow. By 419, there were many ‘gospels’ and ‘revelations’ to choose from; the Church chose.
Here is what Thomas Jefferson thought about the Book of Revelation.
hxxps://www.deism.com/post/famous-deist-thomas-jefferson
I fully agree with Thomas Jefferson. There is nothing edifying about the Book of Revelation; it is used by evil people like Pete Hegseth who want to bring about war, and by kooks like Hal Lindsey, and John Darby and those who followed him, who get an ego gratification out of figuring out the “End Times”.
I’ve read some in the Gnostic Gospels left out of that choice………and there are some lovely quotes we’ve missed.
One I remember went something like this, a saying attributed to Jesus:
IF YE BRING FORWARD WHAT IS INSIDE YOU, IT WILL SAVE YOU
IF YE BRING NOT FORWARD WHAT IS INSIDE YOU, IT WILL DESTROY YOU.
I think that’s pretty close to the quote. I loved it because it called for a full flowering of the self…….something that the wiccan people of ancient Britain called ‘becoming wyrd”…….not weird in our sence, but fully actualized, so fully who you were born to be…..a wise one, a wizened elder in fact.
We need more wyrd elders now, fewer peddlers of the end times.
Basically, humanity cannot let the Trump/Israeli regime happen as it portrays itself. You cannot just object, one must put their life on the line. We must be willing to stand and die against this evil and and we would be enhanced about our situation if we educated our youth beyond capitalism. (Perhaps they want a future.)
Resources around the world are everything the USA and Israel wants. Control of resources are a beast that is happening because what they do no longer says anything about the entire planet failing to support all life.
I cannot agree more Paula, “The thing speaks. for itself!
Completely agree…….its a last stand resource grab. Period.
It seems to me that this “crusade against Islam” is also a crusade against a religion that sees usury in a negative light, (no one ever mentions this), and usury is the blood that capitalism constantly dines on until there is nothing left. If a belief in the wolf that the Epstein class does not feed, and does not even acknowledge except by preying upon the wolf others do feed, as documented by leaders like those that have been murdered throughout USA history, and prevails to this horrible day. Humanity, perhaps among all nations, is lost. We must simply quit feeding our baser humanity. The lies we are fed become fact, and none of us, including our children, will survive. It’s one thing to injure, but another to insult those who are injured by these rampantly insane people. No wonder, is it, that the Amish keep to their own and that Iran kept to its own. It is a profoundly deep spiritual confrontation about resources, about who gets to allocate them, and what possessing those resources and how to use them when NOT in the hands of a murderous regime called Israel and USA. It is about who benefits. It addresses the core of humanity and its survival, how to treat all of our fellow humans and planet earth life in general.
Yes, folks, we’re slaughtering children in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Prince of Peace, Lord of Love, Jesus Christ. You know, the One who LOVES all the little children of the world?! Let’s bring on the Genocide for Jesus!
Basing US foreign policy on fake Biblical prophecy is a huge criminal operation and every single person who supports it should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
I agree, but this is not new. European explorers took their Jesus to the Western hemisphere and to Africa and Asia and slaughtered the native people there and enslaved them. Even the Nazis of the Third Reich declared “Gott mit uns” – “God is with us.”
We thought we lived in enlightened times, that wars based on religious fanaticism were over. We misunderstood something important.
Indeed.
The irony of it is, of course, the old western accusation against Iran of religious fanaticism, and now the US is doing the same!
Even if one ignores the fact that this is the Zionist Israel’s war [not the US’], and the inherent fanatacism there, this latest Biblical twisting rant from the US military should be enough to convince any sane rational person that the US has finally tipped over the edge into sheer lunacy.
As a Canadian, I saw this coming 15 years ago. The US Commanders are right from a perverted inverted perspective.
Since Saturday, I have replied to hundreds of comments from the powerful elites and the Public on X posting this reply to all;
The WHY this WAR is Happening NOW
HEAR, O HEAVENS, AND GIVE EAR, O EARTH, FOR THE LORD HAS SPOKEN;
Children I have raised and exalted, yet they have rebelled against Me.
An ox knows his owner and a donkey his master’s crib; Israel does not know, my people does not consider.
Woe to a sinful nation, a people heavy with iniquity, evildoing seed, corrupt children.
They forsook the Lord; they provoked the Holy One of Israel; they drew backwards.
Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 1:2-3-4
The US-Israeli provoked WAR is bringing this World closer to Armageddon, the Battle of the great day of God Almighty between Theocratic Israel vs Theocratic Iran and US Christian Nationalism, in this time of the Revelation of Jesus Christ described in 16:13-16.
And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
For they are the spirits of DEVILS, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth ($Billionaires, Presidents, Prime Ministers, CEOs and other IDOLS of the People) and of the whole world, (the rest of the passive powerless People) to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
Behold, I come as a thief. (when you least expect it)
Blessed is he that watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
DAY OF AWAKENING – DAVID vs GOLIATH vs ARMAGEDDON

This country has gone even farther nuts than I had supposed. How anyone could believe that one breeding pair, with two sons got the human species started is insanity, just like the rest of the “holy” book.
True.
HHAHHA……its almost as unbelievable as the anthropology belief that we all came from Africa……….although multiple emergences might have been possible in Africa…….its a big continent.
But I’ve always had my doubts, for the simple reason that the Western mind harbours the ‘myth of the origin’. It actually believes a single event precipitates almost everything………….much like believing everything is made in a week by a single god.
Unity, Oneness, Singularities obsess us in the west.
A polytheistic belief system might suit the way nature has evolved much better………..but oh no.
WESTERN DOMINANCE HAS TO SQUEEZE EVERY LIVING THINK INTO ONE UNIFIED SIMPLE EXPLANATION……..we’re control freaks. Diversity scares the bejesus out of us…….taking the name of one poor prophet in vain.
What part of “Thou shalt not kill” do they not understand?
If your god needs your human intervention to bring about his end times, what kind of god is he and why are you worshipping him?
In any case, the Biblical writers were writing about *past* events in their own time. Absolutely amazes me how the goings-on of a tiny separatist tribe in desert have had such a bearing on all of “western civilization” (sic).
Yes, and a great question that if more of humanity explored such questions, would see much more “truth.” A 5000 year old country should never be destroyed and the hubris involved, is a total STAIN on the EU and USA and ISRAEL when other, more sane people, see that to protect a world that they realize is destroying economies and basic life forms needed to sustain human life: No one talks about the oxygen coming from our oceans. Hello? 70%. Keep dumping and hurting a world you do not even know.
Is there any fundamental difference between Aztec priests cutting out the hearts of children in the application of religious principles and beliefs and Christians (of a kind!) designing the murder of children (and, of course, all those others) in the application of their beliefs?
There is this difference, that the Aztec priests were not devoted to destroying the world, and certainly didn’t have the capacity to do it. The willingness and even desire to burn the world to a crisp because one is ‘told’ by a human belief is a clinical insanity, not religious purity.
Praise McLord!
The irony is if the Jesus described in the bible were to return, he would be accused of being a radical socialist by these true believers. Life on earth should not be at the mercy of people with no connection to reality. There has to be a legal mechanism with which to remove them from positions of power. If there is not, this system is not useful for the protection of us all. One way or another, they must be removed.
I agree wholeheartedly.
Whether our “leaders” are true Christians or just another collection of the usual delusional murderers is not the issue. It is about the No Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.
Trump ,bombs , mass murder are all part of God’s Armageddon plan ? This evil gibberish is light years beyond totally insane.
Armageddon has been predicted more times than Trump’s told lies.
These Christian SECTS (there’s more than 800 of them) scare the shit out of gullible fools and children.
They should be locked up and re-programed into sanity.
Maybe the CIA could do something useful for a change.
To understand what scripture says about the end times, one has to understand the intersection of the OT prophetic books and Revelation. (Scriptures as in the KJV Bible, English version of the Textus Receptus and Masoretic Text OT. Because modern critical texts are missing critical pieces.) Censoring out pieces of the LORD Jesus Christ Almighty’s word is probably part of the problem that this article addresses. Truthful Bible studies can help BUT there’s also garbage out there. Beware. I liked J. Vernon McGee’s “Through The Bible.” However, I recommend reading the entire KJV Bible 10 times in as many years, IF one can. Too long between circuits and too many things are dim or lost in the fog. The objective is for far flung scriptures to be sharp enough to snap together to see the whole. The Bible as a whole leaves no place for the many dangerous false doctrines.
I’m going to sound unpatriotic now. We have to admit that the US has left its Judeo-Christian morality, values, and culture (circa 1700s+) behind in the past. Is a post Judeo-Christian, a pagan nation, indeed going to be key in fulfilling the end times? Look at scripture, ALL of it. There are no shortcuts, it will all happen as written. Rather…
Mark 1:14-15 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Luke 13:1-5 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Luke 23:39-43 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
The Bible was written by men for specific political purposes relating to specific historical times and areas. I recommend the writings of Elaine Pagels to unpack a lot of those political purposes.
Yes
Christianity is dangerous bullshit.
William Stringfellow made sense to me before, and he makes sense to me now [also lean to thinking Origen and the Cathars made “some sense” as well]. hxxps://chrishubbs.com/2012/01/09/stringfellow-on-revelation/
The most important question to ask is: why now? Why is Armageddon a signed, sealed and delivered hope for those who already have complete, worldly power in their hands? It might be understandable if they were, as a group, being maliciously maligned and restrained en masse by anyone in this country, and yet they literally own this country like hucksters who own the well holding all the snake oil. It proves, of course, that those claiming such eternal rights over us are only rakes and curs brought to the pinnacle of power by the ignorance of voters either agreeing with them, or thinking of it as not important. Not that the Democrats weren’t the Devil’s own already! The people mentioned here can only be making this claim of eternal omniscience because they both know and believe that it’s nothing but a lie. Otherwise, as an act of true faith, they could not make the claim for its possible, immediate fulfillment before it could be recognized by all as a fait accompli.

Christian Zionists are about the dumbest most brainwashed people on the planet.
The Scofield Bible drivel will eventually die a slow death, but it’ll be painfully slow.
If someone says they are a Christian, but always follows the motto of “What Would Satan Do?”, and would not be caught dead doing “What Would Jesus Do?”, then what is the true description of their actual religion?
“But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven.” -Mathew 5:44-45
What would Jesus Do?
This has been true for a very long time. Back during the Cheney regime, many officers in their bipartisan, illegal Iraq War had this same attitude. IIRC, the commander of the USAF Academy was rather extreme in this regard. And that was the person they had put into charge of training and shaping young officers. Co. Springs is also a radical Christian hotbed.
And of course, one of the World’s Shortest Books is the list of Democrat activities to change this while the (D)’s had power. I don’t remember Biden purging the officer corps, not even after the military seemed to go along with his overthrow. Instead, we’ve seen the (D)’s shift to becoming lovers of this military as it is. It is of course quite interesting to watch how pro-war and pro-death the Democrat supporting news outlets are about Trump’s bombing of Iran. NBC and CNN are among the worst, and its because of their love of the military even if Trump is in charge.
The US military described in this piece is a bi-partisan creation.
I now place PBS as among the worst media outlets. In the past week they have hosted John Bolton, John Yoo, and talking heads from the Hudson Institute (twice!). Interviewers Navaz, Bennet, and Schifrin lob softballs, and never offer any pushback to naked calls for aggression, territorial conquest, and regime change.
Notice how they move right from describing what has occurred to exploring whether America will be “successful” in its mission. They skip right over questions of morality, honor, and legality.
One might have thought that PBS would open up its criticism of the government after losing federal funding. Quite the opposite. Apparently, the billionaire funders who remain are approving of America’s holy mission in the Middle East.
Glad you figured that out.
