Lets get a list of all the people who are part of this and publish it worldwide. These people should be in the people’s court for corruption, murder and treason! I mean all of them including the police who arrested him.

The Trump Administration along with Britian are going to come up with lots more to charge him for. Lies. They are afraid of him and are going to silence him. He may not live through it if he comes to the U.S. He knows too much, they want to kill Julian Assange, Top Journalist of the World with Integrity and Courage unsurpassed. Pray for him.

  3. April 12, 2019 at 16:57

This breaks my heart, Assange did a great service informing us all of things that we needed to know. This needs to be fought to defend him.

  4. April 12, 2019 at 12:07

I am not making this up, the Wall Street Journal ed page actually just printed this:

“…If he [Assange] really is such a defender of transparency, he should have no fear of a trial to defend his methods…”

    Comment is almost superfluous!

In other words, what the WSJ ed page is implying is that it’s perfectly all right for prosecutorial overreach and police-state heavy-handedness to take place as routine policy in a democracy.

Notice how the WSJ ed page never directed this blithe totalitarian attitude toward the Wall Street crooks in 2008 or toward the lies and deceit of the Pentagon brass and intel agencies in 2002/’03.

Where is the Australian Government in all of this?? Assange was born & bred in Australia? He’s received no help or support from this Nation? The silence has been deafening from this Country of his birth & its really repugnant! That Australia can allow one of their own to be thrown to the British Bulldogs & American wolves is shameful & contemptible? Where the bloody are you Australia & Australians? This is a that Nation prides itself in celebrating its fallen & current soldiers that they call “the Diggers”? In fact, they have lionised them to a saint like, mythology status to be honoured almost as deities? The simple fact is the Anzacs were canon fodder for the British Empire! Anzac day, April 25th 2019, in yet another yearly ritual that has become, almost a Religious occasion, in which huge crowds will gather to commemorate this Military disaster in which thousands of New Zealanders & Australians died, courtesy of the incompetent & arrogant British Military commanders such as Winston Churchill, who planned the ill conceived & ridiculous Gallipoli Landing & Military campaign? Imagine if they had WikiLeaks or a Journalist such as Julian Assange back then to reveal & expose the stupidity & incompetence of the British & their incompetent Commanders that resulted in the unnecessary deaths of so many Anzacs & held these people to account for their war crimes? That is why every Australian & New Zealander should be protesting & demanding justice for Assange, we can’t allow incompetent British officials to get away with this criminality & incompetence, like they got away with at Anzac Cove! Watching the sickening display of Theresa May & her pathetic Parliamentary hacks, howling like dogs in unison in Parliament, over Assange’s arrest with “here, here” cries was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever witnessed? My Australian & NZ Countryman & relatives died for these English scumbags in two World Wars to save their rotten, Brexit delaying, worthless hides! Save Julian Assange, Kiwi’s & Aussies must help!

Wikileaks should release the information identifying who (Seth Rich) actually leaked the DNC emails. Even Mueller’s report continues the lie that Russia hacked the DNC

      April 11, 2019 at 22:24

The Lakes at the DNC have nothing to do with why the United States is seeking extradition for for Julian Assange now. This goes back to the 2010 leaking of massive amounts of government information by Bradley Manning. This has nothing to do with the DNC.

        April 12, 2019 at 14:07

Right, Rebecca — This has to do with getting Assange on some other charge just like getting the criminal Al Capone on tax evasion. Assange is not a criminal, but same tactic used by those who don’t want freedom of speech/press. By those who don’t want “the people” to be informed. This is also meant to frighten and intimidate the few remaining real journalists still around.

Sorry but it does, this is just another example of the US government covering up a massive lie! The Seth Rich story is at the top of this scam to blame Russia and ultimately J A for the lies of the DNC and the coverup of a murder committed by one of the two parties that run this country!

“Wikileaks should release the information identifying who (Seth Rich) actually leaked the DNC emails. Even Mueller’s report continues the lie that Russia hacked the DNC”

For starters. They should come out clearly and state what they know about Seth Rich. I completely respect them protecting their sources. However he died 3 years ago. And it would help stop the TrumpRussia nosensense.

      • April 12, 2019 at 09:28

Assange posted a $10,000 reward for Seth’s murderer and has subtly stated it was Rich in at least two TV interviews, (one being Dutch).

    • April 12, 2019 at 23:07

Why? Assange’s arrest and future extradition to the USA has nothing to do with the DNC leak or that election in 2016 when the Electoral College elected Trump. The US want Assange extradited for conspiring with Chelsea Manning to obtain classified information deeply embarrassing to the US state and its friends back in 2010. I wish I could say the information was damaging rather than embarrassing. I wish I could say it caused so much damage US Inc mended its ways in the face of the public outrage all over the world and stopped the wars, the coups, the drones, the climate damage, the impoverishment, but the only change in the conduct of US Inc is exemplified in Assange’s arrest.

Tying Wikileaks and Assange to Clinton’s defeat is the main reason American liberals are gloating about Assange’s arrest now. Bringing it up again in any form will only reinforce that. So does any mention of Sweden- that brings out every brain dead liberal feminist in the West who can’t see the Collateral Murder forest for the sexual assault allegation trees. The propaganda has been thorough, it’s been relentless and it’s been hammered into those who should be defending Assange for close to a decade.

Bastards got him! Trump a puppet, is washing his hands, but we all now it was him who allowed this to happen.

  10. April 11, 2019 at 20:48

Remember, unfortunately the average person is bombarded with so much drivel and nonsense in the news these days, one simply cannot remember what Julian Assange actually did and why. Therefore, it is important to remind people what this is about, as Chris Hedges has done here. Because really, they don’t know. Folks are so misinformed and disinformed, they simply don’t get it.

  11. April 11, 2019 at 20:47

I just saw ABC News say that the Russians interfered in the election by stealing emails from the DNC computers and having WikiLeaks reveal them. Lie stated as fact. No mention of the inside DNC whistleblower Seth Rich who was assassinated after they were transferred, or that they revealed criminal wrongdoing by the Clinton campaign. Their handsome talking head with his perfect coiffure reads whatever propaganda corporate shoves in front of him. Edward R.Murrow, Walter Cronkite, Robert Parry or Woodward and Bernstein he ain’t. Why, even Julian Assange is a hundred times more of a serious journalist than this entertainment tonight puppet David Muir.

In reality, Assange is an explorer in the wild, who accidentally stumbled on a fight between a lion (Pentagon brass) and a pack of wolves (CIA). Pity you Julian! I’ll say this much, may the scales of Justice be scrupulously fair and let the truth come into the light for everyone to see.

    • maja
      April 11, 2019 at 20:58

You are kidding me! The scales of justice? Which justice? In the UK a country of pedofiles and masons running police. See these police hats with masonic black and white tiles. How many more proofs you need to see about justice in the UK and US.

      • elmerfudzie
        April 12, 2019 at 02:11

maja, pray tell, how does “masonic” and “police” enter into these commentaries? UK’s law enforcement agencies may indeed have their shortcomings, corruption, illegal conspiracies and the like but what country can you point to that doesn’t have (or never had) these weaknesses? Such inner faults or issues are almost systematic. This was not a typical or simple arrest and it was compounded, made more complex when political consideration(s) were added to the melee.

Vivian is a lovely person but she has deep-seated illusions in Trump and the folks on the right. She just mentioned Infowars, which is an islamaphobic site. He spews out so much toxicity I am surprised she even mentioned Infowars. Her support for Trump is also grossly misplaced. Trump has no principles; he will say anything if it helps him politically. As his fixer said, Trump is a crook, a liar and a racist!

We are about to find out, once-and-for-all, who the American Mainstream Media serves: We The People, or the Corporate Security State.

    #FreePress! #FreeAssange!

Kim’s optimism is lovely! But he is under estimating the deviousness of the Trump administration. We should fight like hell to keep Julian from falling into the hands of the criminal U.S. imperialists. They are rogues who do not answer to anybody and don’t play by their own laws and rules. That’s what we are confronting at the moment!

Put up notices at local colleges. Many will have the guts and the time, although final studies and exams may be concurrent.

An editorial in the Guardian makes an interesting point in that the case of Lauri Love in the UK established a precedent for extraditing to the USA on hacking charges. That seems like a highly likely influence on what the DOJ is charging in these initial charges. They’ve talked to the Brits and have been told that this will go through the UK courts based on precedent (and probably picking the ‘right’ judge)

“Curious eyes never run dry in my experience.”

A quote for eternity. A quote that should be plastered on every journalist’s wall, every student’s dorm room, every free-thinker’s living room, and seared into the consciousness of every citizen of a democracy.
