I hope/request that the Australian Government takes note of Rudy Giuliani ‘s comment clearly establishing the freedom to publish information from any source and the Government takes the courage needed to support an Australian person in serious, false, legal difficulty.
It should demand the UK Government release Assange to return to Australia just like it has done with other falsely held Australian journalists in Egypt and others such as the Australian falsely convicted recently in Myanmar.
I trust that an incoming Federal Labour Government will respect the principle of a free and open media and bring Assange back to Australia

Propaganda Bill In Congress Could Give America Its Very Own Ministry Of “Truth”

Obama Quietly Signs The “Countering Disinformation And Propaganda Act” Into Law

U.S. Repeals Propaganda Ban, Spreads Government-Made News to Americans
For decades, a so-called anti-propaganda law prevented the U.S. government’s mammoth broadcasting arm from delivering programming to American audiences. But on July 2, that came silently to an end with the implementation of a new reform passed in January. The result: an unleashing of thousands of hours per week of government-funded radio and TV programs …

I didn’t know that without this broadcast. A license to lie?

Gough Whitlam’s Attorney General was Lionel Murphy, not Lionel ‘Jospin’. Also, the CIA was heavily involved in the overthrow of the Whitlam government, as related in Falcon and the Snowman. Also John Pilger covers this chapter of Australian history more broadly, in his book A Secret Country (see chapter called ‘The Coup’).

Another technical foul-up: the audio of the discussion does not start until 16:40 minutes…

I saw couple of the Online Vigil but to be frank with all that I have going I cannot sit there for an hour o so in as much as I would like. I’m finding it hard to keep up with emails and other sites of interest and I do it before going to bed. Is there or should I say can it be shorten to a readable time frame?

listen on smart phone so you’re not tethered to one spot and listen while doing chores around house/yard, or listen on Bluetooth in car

I wouldn’t expect anyone in the CIA to help. The CIA kills people, who can be found out, easily.

In a real democracy the public has a right to any information about THEIR government.
    Free Assange

Continuing support for Assange is keeping the light of real truth and freedom alive in the world. He must not become the forgotten man.

I found news reports about the visit of (unfortunately only two) German members of parliament to Assange on Dec. 20. These are two prominent women members of the Left Party (Die Linke) in the Bundestag, who are active on foreign policy, and in the anti-war movement outside the parliament. After their visit (together with his father), they held a half-hour press conference outside the Ecuadorean embassy. Watch it here (mostly in English, and when answering German reporters in German, they said much the same):

Why not send them a short e-mail thank-you note?

Excellent idea for this and other issues. When Folks show up or speak up, the public needs to demonstrate appreciation and support. It is hard to keep going and keeping awareness high otherwise.
