Scarier than Bolton? Think Nikki for President

Nikki Haley is America’s face to the international community. She is the Ugly American personified, thinking that American Exceptionalism gives her license to say and do whatever she wants at the United Nations, argues Phil Giraldi in this commentary.

By Phil Giraldi

The musical chairs playing out among the senior officials that make up the President Donald Trump White House team would be amusing to watch but for the genuine damage that it is doing to the United States. The lack of any coherence in policy means that the State Department now has diplomats that do not believe in diplomacy and environment agency heads that do not believe in protecting the environment. It also means that well-funded and disciplined lobbies and pressure groups are having a field day, befuddling ignorant administrators with their “fact sheets” and successfully promoting policies that benefit no one but themselves.

In the Trumpean world of all-the-time-stupid, there is, however, one individual who stands out for her complete inability to perceive anything beyond threats of unrelenting violence combined with adherence to policies that have already proven to be catastrophic. That person is our own Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, who surfaced in the news lately after she unilaterally and evidently prematurely announced sanctions on Russia. When the White House suggested that she might have been “confused” she responded that “With all due respect, I don’t get confused.” This ignited a firestorm among the Trump haters, lauding Haley as a strong and self-confident woman for standing up to the White House male bullies while also suggesting that the hapless Administration had not bothered to inform one of its senior diplomats of a policy change. It also produced a flurry of Haley for higher office tweets based on what was described as her “brilliant riposte” to the president.

One over-the-top bit of effusion from a former Haley aide even suggested that her “deft rebuttal” emphasizes her qualities, enthusing that “What distinguishes her from the star-struck sycophants in the White House is that she understands the intersection of strong leadership and public service, where great things happen” and placing her on what is being promoted as the short list of future presidential candidates.

For sure, neocon barking dog Bill Kristol has for years been promoting Haley for president, a sign that something is up as he was previously the one who “discovered” Sarah Palin. Indeed, the similarities between the two women are readily observable. Neither is very cerebral or much given to make any attempt to understand an adversary’s point of view; both are reflexively aggressive and dismissive when dealing with foreigners and domestic critics; both are passionately anti-Russian and pro-Israeli. And Kristol is not alone in his advocacy. Haley regularly receives praise from Senators like South Carolina’s Lindsey Graham and from the Murdoch media as well as in the opinion pages of National Review and The Weekly Standard.

 She’s Locked and Loaded

The greater problem right now is that Nikki Haley is America’s face to the international community, even more than the Secretary of State. She has used her bully pulpit to do just that, i.e. bully, and she is ugly America personified, having apparently decided that something called American Exceptionalism gives her license to say and do whatever she wants at the United Nations. In her mind, the United States can do what it wants globally because it has a God-given right to do so, a viewpoint that doesn’t go down well with many countries that believe that they have a legal and moral right to be left alone and remain exempt from America’s all too frequent military interventions.

Haley: Locked and Loaded (UN Poto)

Nikki Haley sees things differently, however. During her 15 months at the United Nations she has been instrumental in cutting funding for programs that she disapproves of and has repeatedly threatened military action against countries that disagree with U.S. policies. Most recently, in the wake of the U.S. cruise missile attack against Syria, she announced that the action was potentially only the first step. She declared that Washington was “locked and loaded,” prepared to exercise more lethal military options if Syria and its Russian and Iranian supporters did not cease and desist from the use of chemical weapons. Ironically, the cruise missile attack was carried out even though the White House had no clue as to what had actually happened and it now turns out that the entire story, spread by the terrorist groups in Syria and their mouthpieces, has begun to unravel. Will Nikki Haley apologize? I would suspect that if she doesn’t do confusion she doesn’t do apologies either.

Haley, who had no foreign policy experience of any kind prior to assuming office, relies on a gaggle of neoconservative foreign-policy “experts” to help shape her public utterances, which are often not cleared with the State Department, where she is at least nominally employed. Her speechwriter is Jessica Gavora, who is the wife of the leading neoconservative journalist Jonah Goldberg. Unfortunately, being a neocon mouthpiece makes her particularly dangerous as she is holding a position where she can do bad things. She has been shooting from the lip since she assumed office with only minimal vetting by the Trump Administration, and, as in the recent imbroglio over her “confusion,” it is never quite clear whether she is speaking for herself or for the White House.

She Has Her Own Foreign Policy

Haley has her own foreign policy. She has declared that Russia “is not, will not be our friend” and has lately described the Russians as having their hands covered with the blood of Syrian children. From the start of her time at the U.N., Haley has made it clear that she is neoconservatism personified and she has done nothing since to change that impression. In December 2017 she warned the U.N. that she was “taking names” and threatened retaliation against any country that was so “disrespectful” as to dare to vote against Washington’s disastrous recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, which she also helped to bring about.

As governor of South Carolina, Haley first became identified as an unquestioning supporter of Israel through her signing of a bill punishing supporters of the nonviolent pro-Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, the first legislation of its kind on a state level. Immediately upon taking office at the United Nations she complained that “nowhere has the U.N.’s failure been more consistent and more outrageous than in its bias against our close ally Israel” and vowed that the “days of Israel bashing are over.” On a recent visit to Israel, she was feted and honored by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. She was also greeted by rounds of applause and cheering when she spoke at the annual meeting of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) in March, saying “When I come to AIPAC I am with friends.”

Nikki Haley’s embrace of Israeli points of view is unrelenting and serves no American interest. If she were a recruited agent of influence for the Israeli Mossad she could not be more cooperative than she apparently is voluntarily. In February 2017, she blocked the appointment of former Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad to a diplomatic position at the United Nations because he is a Palestinian. In a congressional hearing she was asked about the decision: “Is it this administration’s position that support for Israel and support for the appointment of a well-qualified individual of Palestinian nationality to an appointment at the U.N. are mutually exclusive?” Haley responded yes, that the administration is “supporting Israel” by blocking every Palestinian.

She’s Decided She Wants Regime Change

Haley is particularly highly critical of both Syria and Iran, reflecting the Israeli bias. She has repeatedly said that regime change in Damascus is a Trump administration priority, even when the White House was saying something different. She has elaborated on an Administration warning that it had “identified potential preparations for another chemical weapons attack by the Assad regime” by tweeting “…further attacks will be blamed on Assad but also on Russia and Iran who support him killing his own people.” At one point, Haley warned “We need to see Russia choose to side with the civilized world over an Assad government that brutally terrorizes its own people.”

At various U.N. meetings, though Haley has repeatedly and uncritically complained of institutional bias towards Israel, she has never addressed the issue that Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians might in part be responsible for the criticism leveled against it. Her description of Israel as a “close ally” is hyperbolic and she tends to be oblivious to actual American interests in the region when Israel is involved. She has never challenged the Israeli occupation of the West Bank as well as the recent large expansion of settlements, which are at least nominally opposed by the State Department and White House. Nor has she spoken up about the more recent shooting of three thousand unarmed Gazan demonstrators by Israeli Army sharpshooters, which is a war crime.

Haley’s hardline on Syria reflects the Israeli bias, and her consistent hostility to Russia is a neoconservative position. A White House warning that it had “identified potential preparations for another chemical weapons attack by the Assad regime led to a Haley elaboration in a tweet that “…further attacks will be blamed on Assad but also on Russia and Iran who support him killing his own people.” Earlier, on April 12, 2017 after Russia blocked a draft U.N. resolution intended to condemn the alleged Khan Shaykhun chemical attack, which subsequently turned out to be a false flag, Haley said, “We need to see Russia choose to side with the civilized world over an Assad government that brutally terrorizes its own people.”

Bolton: Not as bad.as Nikki. (Photo: Gage Skidmore)

Haley is particularly critical of Iran, which she sees as the instigator of much of the unrest in the Middle East, again reflecting the Israeli and neocon viewpoints. She claimed on April 20, 2017 during her first session as president of the U.N. Security Council, that Iran and Hezbollah had “conducted terrorist acts” for decades within the Middle East, ignoring the more serious terrorism support engaged in by U.S. regional allies Saudi Arabia and Qatar. She stated in June 2017 that the Security Council’s praise of the Iran Nuclear Agreement honored a state that has engaged in “illicit missile launches,” “support for terrorist groups,” and “arms smuggling,” while “stok[ing] regional conflicts and mak[ing] them harder to solve.” All are perspectives that might easily be challenged.

So, Nikki Haley very much comes across as the neoconservatives’ dream ambassador to the United Nations–full of aggression, a staunch supporter of Israel, and assertive of Washington’s preemptive right to set standards for the rest of the world. And there is every reason to believe that she would nurture the same views if she were to become the neocon dream president. Bearing the flag for American Exceptionalism does not necessarily make her very good for the rest of us, who will have to bear the burdens and risks implicit in her imperial hubris, but, as the neoconservatives never feel compelled to admit that they were wrong, one suspects that Haley’s assertion that she does not do confusion is only the beginning if she succeeds in her apparent quest for the highest office in the land. Worse than John Bolton? Absolutely.

I can not disagree with you more. Ambassador Haley is a breath of fresh air in her UN role. Her unvarnished animosity toward The Bear is well placed. By the time she is needed and as President Trump finishes his second term, she will be well prepared to be a great president also.

Its not a surprise that we can’t win wars anymore because we have no balls schmucks like you running the show. You are nothing more than a Jew hating beta-male who thinks hugs and kisses wins over the world. Quinnipiac University poll of 4/25 shows Haley most popular of Trump admin, approval rating: 63%. Breakdown is by
    Republicans: 75%, Independents: 63%,
    Democrats: 55%.
Men: 67%, Women: 59%. Hispanics: 59%, African-Americans: 46%, Whites: 68%. Haley polls higher than Mattis 59%, Pompeo 42%, Bolton 37%, Trump 39%. Quinnipiac is considered among most accurate polls. Apparently Americans do like outspoken attack-dog behavior!

The article is about Nikki saying twice “we will never be friends with Russia”, but I think it’s also apt to give the Russian Ambassadors’ response as well. He briefly said friends develope relationships out of reciprocity, and then I’ll quote from him.

“We are not particularly keen to be friends with you,” Ambassador Vasily Nebenzia said Monday afternoon through a translator. “We are not begging to be friends with you. What we want from you is really nothing, it’s something that is normal: civilized relations, which you arrogantly refuse, disregarding elementary, basic courtesy.”

“And you are misguided if you think that you have friends,” Nebenzia continued in his remarks to Haley. “So-called friends of yours are only those who cannot say no to you, and, this is the sole criterion for friendship in your understanding. Russia has friends and unlike yourselves, we do not have adversaries. We do not view the world through that prism.”

“You are misguided to think you have friends,” Nebenzia cautioned. “Your so-called friends are just those who can’t say no to you. This is your only criteria for friendship.”

What [the] military misadventures of the West bring about is well known, as shown by the examples of Yugoslavia, Iraq and Libya. Nobody has vested you with the power to act like the world’s policeman, or to act like the prosecutor, judge, and executioner either,” he said.

“Everywhere you go, everything you touch, you leave behind only chaos. You try to fish in those murky waters, but the only thing you catch is mutants,” Nebenzia went on to say.

It is difficult to disagree with Mr Nebenzias’ response, and yet it probably went right over Nikkis’ head, or the grey matter left in her cranium. she needs a course in diplomacy, as many of her peers swimming in her muck do as well. Let’s not even call it Diplomacy 101, since that is too difficult, as it should be called Diplomacy 1, for rank beginners.

Well stated, curious. This quote is spot on.

We do not have real friends. The “friends” that we have are nothing more than vassal states and only do our bidding because they are afraid that if they don’t then we will turn on them. Guess what? They’re right. Once we get done with all the other countries and our resources run low, we’ll turn on them and take their resources too.

The only way to stop our marching hegemony is for Russia to stand against us. Putin knows that and so do our leaders. This was why we made sure not to hit any of Russia’s assets during the last bombing campaign. I hope I live to see the day that Russia tells us that we’ve done enough damage to the world and it’s time for us to stop.

Is it any wonder that there are intelligent and informed people who argue against the existence of an American Deep State? Who needs a Deep State with a government owned and operated by private sector lobbyists?

For as long as it takes for America to get to the end of Decline and fall into Fall, there will be Baby Bushes, Donald Trumps, and, yes, Nikki Haleys occupying the White House. As the decline and fall of Rome suggested, every declining empire requires its Neros and its Caligulas.

I remember my first introduction to Haley was her demand from the UN pulpit that Russia must leave Crimea, which would end its presence of several hundred years. It was a time when many who voted for Trump hoped for some sanity in dealing with Russia, even considering détente a strong possibility. In the face of that comes the comments about Crimea by Nikki Haley, creating a matter which to Russia was not negotiable. Her continued loose cannon behavior and crude and strident remarks makes her the worst America can offer as our representative at the UN. Her comment about Crimea should have gotten her fired, her last comment after misstating the White House position of sanctions should have also. But Trump is a crippled President out of the box and too weak to withstand any firestorm, no matter how small.

Nimrata Haley? You are right, she is scary. I believe since her family are recent immigrants, she wants to prove she is more gringa than the gringos, more Yankee than the Yankees. She has no idea she is brown-skinned, she is a wanna-be white.
She call herself “Nikki,” just as that other x-governor calls himself “Bobby.”
Without the Civil Rights Movement her family would have never gotten into the USA. Her gratitude is to join forces with the white-supremacist administration and protect the Confederate flag. Forget her brown, black, red brothers and sisters—she will side with the KKK.
Her boss, Pompeo, called his India-Indian opponent a “turban head.” Drumpf calls Elizabeth Warren “Pocahontas.” What does she think he calls her?
Drumpf treats women “like pieces of meat,” or so says Comey. Nimrata doesn’t mind?
This is the profile of a very, very disturbed, confused woman. I doubt if she has much self-respect.

“Nikki?” That is not even her name. I don’t work for Putin but I do fail to see democracy in the USA where the plutocrats make sure ‘Corporations are people.” What democracy? The Senate, Supreme Court, Electoral College, gerrymandering, voter-suppression schemes, largest penal colony on the planet, cops who murder at will and with impunity, 48 million of our own without health insurance, jails for profit, education for profit, a government run by and for AIPAC, the corporations and the Pentagon? George Carlin was right: “They call it the American dream because you have to be asleep to believe it.” Grow up.

    • Realist
      April 25, 2018 at 02:57

You know where “democracy” is being strangled, Mr. Turner? In America, by all the fat cats who have stolen it and replaced it with an oligarchy, an oligarchy where “corporations are people” and “money is free speech,” totally novel and extraconstitutional notions sanctioned by a stacked Supreme Court well over 200 years after the Founding Fathers crafted that document. In the country where the politicians of both major parties have come to be owned by the “campaign contributions” that only the rich can afford and offer to vermin willing to abandon the citizens who voted for their lies and champion only the interests of their “contributors.” In the country where the powers that be inexorably make it more difficult to vote and to register to vote so that the “wrong” people simply do not get a say at the ballot box. In the country where elderly folks who have voted all their lives are denied that right simply because the new “identity laws” to purportedly protect us from “terrorists” and “voter fraud” have become so onerous that they can’t always acquire the necessary papers to allow them to vote or to fly on a commercial airliner. In the country that has DESTROYED more pre-existing democracies in the course of its “regime change” campaign than it ever intended to create from any toppled dictatorships. Take a look at REALITY, Mr. Turner, rather than the propaganda being pumped into your deficient cerebral cortex by powerful people with a vested interest in keeping you totally fooled during what passes for your waking state.

You might also want to get back to us on exactly who it is that wants war and who wants peace in the world after carefully examining Washington’s track record on that over the past 242 years. Advise yourself of the facts on which countries have attacked or invaded us over the years and to which countries have we packed up our road show and traipsed half way round the globe to invade, attack, bomb back to the stone age and occupy. (Hint: only the British, the Japanese and some Saudi Arabians actually delivered anything more than rhetoric upon United States soil in three isolated events.) Armed with the actual FACTS, all your blather about freedom, democracy, human rights, pure-as-snow American altruism and blah blah blah transmutes into so much hypocritical bull shit… no matter what your drill instructor, beloved televangelist or favorite media talking head related to you. Check their assertions against actual facts and you will discover the frauds that most of them are. The United States is presently warring on at least seven different countries, most of which would be at peace if not for our interference in their affairs (Yemen might be the exception, being originally attacked by our “ally” Saudi Arabia). Refresh your memory as to how most of the territory encompassing the United States was acquired. Only the purchase of Alaska and the Louisiana territory were achieved without conflict or the threat of conflict.

Finally, learn how to think, reason, articulate, spell and use proper grammar. Though not a substitute for organised elucidation of actual reality, they make it possible for people to discern your argument, assuming you have one.

One of us is confused…or not.

I mean, what does it take to be part of the “civilized world”? Blockades and bombs that cause millions to be on the brink of starvation while suffering an epidemic of cholera? The “sanctioning” of Iraq after the Gulf War in which civil infrastructure was decimated so that a suffering population could be “punished” further to the tune of over a half-million unnecessary deaths of children? Placing snipers to kill or maim unarmed protesters who suffer cruel occupation? Practicing the “arts” of deception, duplicity, and disrespect for the opinion, intelligence, or decency of those throughout the world who disbelieve nonsense and insist upon rationality and standards of evidence?

That’s what it takes to be part of the “civilized world”?

Killing 40,000 civilians while leveling Mosul and Raqqa isn’t barbaric?

Tell me again Nikki…who smuggled all those arms from Libya to Syria to support terrorists? And by the way, Libya was bombed until it became a haven for slave-traders and terrorists instead of a functioning civilized state.
Excuse me Nikki, but you are confused about the distinction between barbarism and civilization. That…or you just can’t stop lying to yourself and the world.

Hey, big city boy, now in his 70’s, from Illinois as well–though I haven’t lived there since 1969. Go, Illini!

Big job ahead of you guys to repair the damage left in state government by Ruiner, I mean Rauner. Essential to fix the state and municipal pension plans or their collapse could trigger a much wider economic collapse throughout the nation’s economy (and wouldn’t be fair to the retired old folks who worked hard for that deferred compensation). A subsistence floor must be maintained for the working stiffs like teachers, paramedics and garbage haulers as is guaranteed under the state constitution. The double and triple dippers, especially those qualifying for high six and seven figure payouts can take a haircut, as those benefits were often achieved fraudulently or by bending the rules. About five other states are presently in the same predicament, just teetering on the verge of fiscal collapse and nobody on Wall Street, on Pennsylvania Avenue or Capitol Hill seems to be taking the matter seriously… as if all things are not connected in a causal relationship, and as if there are not clear echoes of recent history calling loud and clear (Crash of 2008 anyone?).

Maybe such obliviousness is the strongest clue that war is really coming. Live long and prosper, Gregory, especially if you are a generation or two behind me. Life was an adventure not a threat back in the day, and I hope it still can be, for everyone on this earth. Your writing has the wisdom and lucidity of someone older. You may simply be one of the few who actually pay attention to what really goes on. This earth is going to need people will your level of wisdom when it arrives at the magical date of 2050, when most of the data extrapolations tell us that current standards of living will no longer be sustainable because resources will be approaching depletion, demand will far outstrip supply for everything, the environment will be dangerously polluted, and the climate will be on the way to a runaway greenhouse effect. Who will manage the lemmings and how, when the time comes? I hope not to be reincarnated as one of them, and I know that no retirement plan is going to keep my generation alive past 100 to see the outcome.

Nimrata Hayley is a psychopath with a dangerous level of ambition for she has no qualifications. She realized correctly, political power in the US of A lies with AIPAC and their Israeli First zionist neocon think tanks.
As psychopaths are driven by their own ambitions and with no empathy for others or core values, Nimrata has offered her self to Israel indicating she’ll do anything at all to fulfil her ambition.
Simply, Nimrata is an Israeli Firster just like her Israeli picked and paid for boss.

Haley is using the same formula that most American politicians have embraced since this country set out to become a world empire around the turn of the 20th century–after we had crushed the last resistance of the Native Americans and our “homeland” was finally fully colonised.

Blame foreigners for every imperfection in domestic America regardless of the issue. Start with the Mexicans and eventually go as far afield as Russians in arctic Siberia, Mandarins in a 5,000-year old culture White folks traded with for the amenities of civilisation when it was called Cathay, and the diverse people in between Europe and the Far East, from Bedouins to great empires, who were the actual folks that brought what we call civilisation to the West.

Make the voters feel threatened by these people although fortress America is still well-protected against any land invasion by two huge moats called the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Consider the impossibility of any foreign power mobilising for such an invasion when you remember the magnitude of the effort required to simply cross the English Channel or the Mediterranean back during WWII. No country, not even Russia and China combined have the resources, the will or the motivation to undertake such a mad act.

Yet it is the pretext upon which all the bombastic warmongering rhetoric ever spewing from political and media sources in this country derives. According to Hollywood, “Red Dawn” is on for tomorrow… unless you vote for our political party, comprising the only true patriots in all the land.

As our British “allies” would say, since they perfected the ploy and have been using it far longer than we, all this “rally-round-the-flag” rhetoric is pure codswallop. We’ve seen them in action, perhaps for their last hurrah as a respectable credible world power in their lame attempts to demonise Russia and precipitate the war that their American neocon puppet masters feel is past due.

As long as 90% of Americans live by the precept that “all I know is what I read in the papers,” it will continue to be child’s play for ambitious demagogic morons such as Nikki Haley to lead fools the way to dusty death. Haley is just one more puppet in the service of the powerful shadows behind the scenes. She knows it, but would gladly sell out the idiot voters who foolishly trust her just to get her name in the history books… along with a cushy life till the worm turns.

We do not give more than other nations combined. Where do you get your information from, Breibart, Veritas, CNN? Norway for one, gives more foreign aid than the USA. The USA gives more weapons, that is all. Earthquake strikes Haiti—the US sends troops, Cuba sends doctors and medics. You are the
“delusional, uneducated fool” and a brainwashed ignoramus to boot. If you resent our dollars going abroad, put a stop to the $12 million/day that go to genocidal, apartheid Israel. That money flows out even during a government shutdown. Who owns the USA? Nimrata’s heroes do.

Haley is angeling for becoming the next POTUS. She shouldn’t have much resistance in achieving her goal, when people like Lindsey Graham, Bill Kristal, Sheldon Adelson, AIPAC,etc., are behind her. Actually, it would be a disappointment if she won’t be the POTUS, comes 2020…

Statement like this, quote from the article, she will gain even more support:

” She has elaborated on an Administration warning that it had “identified potential preparations for another chemical weapons attack by the Assad regime” by tweeting “…further attacks will be blamed on Assad but also on Russia and Iran who support him killing his own people.”

Projecting future chemical weapons attacks by the Assad regime is a win-win situation. If it gives an idea for the White Helmets (a.k.a. propaganda arm of the oligarchs) to stage another hoax in Syria, she will say that, “I told you so…”. Or alternatively have one of the “Queda” actually do a false flag chemical attack on Syrian civilians, it doesn’t really mater to her. The stage is set, Assad, Russia and Iran cannot prevent being blamed for the “future attack”, they have been predetermined to be the responsible party.

The other is that the US is “locked and loaded”. The MIC needs more money and it is time for depleting the ordinance inventory. The 100+ Tomahawks and other rockets were nice, but it is just lunch money…

    And there’s this quote:

“Haley said, “We need to see Russia choose to side with the civilized world over an Assad government that brutally terrorizes its own people.”

But of course… It is the civilized world’s perogative for brutally terrorize people in any country it chooses to with conventional weapons. Like the Saudies, friends of the US, just did:

Ike was in the White House, when I was just a kid.
The Commies were a global threat, and ‘flying saucers’ too,
In movies they saved Hitler’s brain, J. Edgar had a clue –
They searched in South America, to find out where he hid.
The ‘Yellow Peril’ was defeated, we saved the Philippines,
But crazy Joe McCarthy knew that danger lurked ahead!
We all knew it was better to be dead than ‘Commie Red’!
My dad had come back from the war, he served on submarines.
Atomic peril was the rage in science fiction plots,
Godzilla and The Blob depicted radiation fears,
Hiding under schoolroom desks brought lots of kids to tears,
The worst was Sputnik and the threat of Russian astronauts!
The Twilight Zone was on TV, when I was just a kid.
Back then the picture tube was round and screened in black and white,
But still, the “Ten Most Wanted List” could stir up quite a fright.
Atomic fallout from a bomb might grow a giant squid!
We ate a lot of cackle berries when I was a kid,
My Grandpa had a little farm, and we felt quite secure,
The chickens laid a lot of eggs, with plenty of manure.
Ike said Korea didn’t win, but Grandpa said they did.
Grandpa’s thoughts were independent; he was hard to fool.
He once met Teddy Roosevelt, and mimicked “Bully good!”
The parody got lots of laughs, as Grandpa thought it should,
He thought the world of politics deserved more ridicule.
Grandpa gave his critters names, some seemed a bit absurd,
He called a rooster Harry Truman, Woodrow was a duck.
A silly goose was Effie and the gander ‘Buck-a-luck’.
His favorite cow was so ordained, he called her Lady Bird!
He never bothered with TV, but liked to read a lot.
When Harvey Oswald got the blame, he harbored many doubts –
The first words from his mouth included “Johnson’s whereabouts”!
He said Jack Ruby killed the chance to figure out the plot.
His chicken yard was quite replete with funny chicken names,
Both Lucille Ball and Betty Davis made the honor list,
But temptresses and floozies were the hardest to resist.
The wanton and promiscuous, those were his favorite dames.
The most prodigious hen he named was Marilyn Monroe –
He said she had a potent skill and was a real good layer,
May West was also pretty good, and quite an egg conveyor,
Joan Crawford was malicious, but she made the roosters crow!
Grandpa died long, long ago but if he were still around,
I know he’d find some worthy hens and grant celebrity.
Samantha, Nikki, Hillary, Victoria and Valerie –
You’d recognize them right away just from the sound.
They’d peck and cackle, flap and scratch,
There’d be manure and ruffled clamor –
Few would stoop to call it glamour,
But the names would surely seem a perfect match.

Yep, I recognized Nikki right away, having been a kid on a chicken farm. Regular readers may recall that I predicted Nikki Haley’s Presidential aspirations many, many moons ago – right here on this very site – but I didn’t consider Mike Pence or John Bolton as potential running mates. In keeping with her Neocon proclivities, I predicted it would be Jared Kushner!

None of us would have ever heard of Nikki Haley if Sarah Palin hadn’t picked her out of the crowd when she was, at the time, polling last in a GOP primary for governor. Haley won and defeated a popular Democratic nominee 51% to 47%. I was in South Carolina and heard her speak. All she talked about was getting rid of Obamacare, but she offered few specifics. Another major issue was flying the flag over the SC state capitol, which she was for, but she took it down after a racially motivated mass killing in Charleston. Haley was a mediocre governor whose only accomplishment worth praise was her handling of Hurricane Matthew.
In the United Nations she has been a bull in a china chop, chauvinistically thumping her chest as she pushes for American hegemony and threatening any country that disagrees with her. Her understanding of world events is poor, and she is probably the most dangerous woman in the world.
Haley could indeed become president. Her sex and her being a member of a minority help her. She knows all the clichés that get Republicans standing on their feet and applauding, and she delivers them with pizzazz. Haley kowtows endlessly to Netanyahu and spits in the faces of Russians. Worry.

As an aside, Nikki Haley is indeed a genuine Nitwit. But American Elites mistakenly use academic pedigrees as proxies for genuine insight and wisdom. Cognoscenti from Harvard and Yale saturated with arrogance, hubris and conceit have parachuted into Washington and Wall Street for many decades where they proceeded to wreck businesses and entire economies, formulate pathological social policies with disastrous unintended consequences and hatch and prosecute TRILLION dollar wars to nowhere.

Ivy league grads Clinton, Bush and Obama were car wrecks in one way or another. Penn grad Trump is careening towards catastrophe. Harvard grad Pompeo and Yale grad Bolton are Neocon lunatics. And the Washington Think Tank (Pimp Tank really) Swamp is roiling with Ph.D. idiot-savants from the “finest institutions” who live parasitically large by merely gas-bagging their bad intuition and hackneyed advice.

And I have to note that the Elites always walk away rich from their wreckage, while the taxpayers get stuck with the bills.

That Nikki Haley only has an accounting degree doesn’t bother me. The fact that she’s a hack mediocrity regardless of where she went to school surely does.

Actually in some ways it might be preferable to have her rather than Trump. Trump, like Obama before him, still has supporters who still believe in him despite the evidence. Also like Obama there is a huge ongoing media campaign to question his legitimacy as president. The resulting media puppet show serves both as a distraction and provides an excuse for the horrible things that he is actually doing. Again, as with Obama, the claim is that he is forced to do those things in order to retain his position but he is doing what he can and his heart is in the right place (honestly). With Nikki Haley in place the focus would inevitably be on what is really happening in the world and we might actually see some proper opposition to the actual policies.

I remember when Tony Blair was elected here in the UK there was considerable optimism, then some New Labour bod said “We are going to do things the Conservatives would never have dared to do” When Obama was elected some had very high hopes for him but he actually did the stuff that George W Bush couldn’t have gotten away with. Even George W Bush was elected on the promise of “a humble foreign policy”. The pattern continues, the next “Hopey Changey” individual gets elected with much fanfare but the neocon/neolib agenda grinds relentlessly on. I doubt very much that Nikki Haley would ever get elected, it just wouldn’t fit the pattern.

If it were not but for all of these Neocon instigated foreign entanglements the U.S. and the rest of the world would be a pretty peaceful place. None of this makes any sense, that is unless you believe you have the most superior military advantage the world has ever known, and then you may pause to ask yourself, do we? The emphasis on Israel is overstated. Support for Israeli aggression is only one part of the neocon package, the far more important being the demonization of Russia and now China, as dictated by the lunatic regime of Ms. Mayhem in London, backed by her French poodle. It is, as the British press has recently boasted, the role of the new “Global Britain,; which will lead the reluctant “liberal democracies” against the “totalitarian capitalist states.” While they are pulling out all stops to rope in the President of the United States. and have been temporarily successful, there have been some hopeful indications that Trump may soon wise up and give the boot to the evil witch and former “anti-Trumpster.”

My emphasis on Israel very well may be overstated, but all and all the mentioning of Israel is a good place to begin our conversation. After all Putin’s treatment of the Russian Zionist oligarchs is enough reason to suspect Israel of being behind the scenes, as in the trashing of all things Russian by the American and English Neocon stacked governments. Remember the Rothschild dynasty is reliant on U.S. and UK debt, while Israel is the benefactor of the Rothschild profits.

“Support for Israel” is the central function of the pro-Israel Lobby.

The “neocon package” is only one part of the pro-Israel Lobby, which includes “liberal interventionists’ and numerous “regime change” think tanks infested with rabidly pro-Israel warhawks.

The demonization of Russia shifted into overdrive with Russian support for Syria in the face of the Israeli-Saudi-U.S. Axis military assault. Starting in 2011, Western-backed terrorist proxy forces poured into Syria, primarily from NATO member-state Turkey, Jordan and Iraq.

When Russian diplomacy thwarted efforts to instigate a U.S. bombing campaign against Syria in 2013, a Western-backed coup d’etat was instigated in Kiev. Subsequent events in Ukraine fabricated a pretext for absolute hysterics directed against Russia.

In 2014, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) initiated its “Operation Inherent Resolve” campaign to supply close air support for those not-so-moderate “Salafist principality” proxy forces rampaging across Iraq and Syria.

In 2015, as Russian air assets aided Syrian ground forces in rolling back the Israeli-Saudi-U.S. “regime change” project, the anti-Russian propaganda rhetoric elevated to its current state of frenzy.

The emphasis on Israel is by no means “overstated”. There is no need whatsoever to “rope in” Trump, an avowed “1000 percent” Israel Firster.

The cheap “Russia-gate” theatrics were designed to 1) distract from Trump’s open servility to the Israeli-Saudi-U.S. Axis project, and 2) further demonize the Russians for opposing that project.

Yes, and for all of what you just stated Abe I see Nikki Haley as her being more of an instrument of Israel than she being a proper representative of the U.S.. https://viableopposition.blogspot.ca/2018/04/aid-to-israel-washington-pastime.html

It’s nice that US taxpayers can help fund Israel’s constitutionally enshrined national heath care system (at the expense of the US having the same). I believe that this point could be heavily leveraged: the big Israel supporters also seem to be opponents of a similar health care system in the US- there’s thick hypocrisy here and I think that shoving this in their faces -the neocons- could be a way to discredit them (selling out US taxpayers).

  41. April 24, 2018 at 11:41

Haley is quite dangerous, far worse than her Obama predecessor, Samantha Power, who was bad enough. But i hold out hope that world events may well change things before the 2020 election, as precarious as it appears now. Who talked Trump into appointing Haley to her position? I have read there is Sheldon Adelson money behind Haley as well as Trump’s campaign and the Israel lobby, Adelson is adamantly pro Israel.

  42. Drew Hunkins
    April 24, 2018 at 11:18

Obviously Haley with all her over the top bellicose — not to mention extremely dangerous — rhetoric on the international stage is her little way of currying favor and brownie points with the Washington-militarist imperialists and Zionist Power Configuration, not to mention getting favorable coverage in the nauseating sycophantic establishment media. It’s breathtaking, though not altogether surprising, that this little self-serving mercurial freak exhibits no compunction over putting the world on the brink of nuclear annihilation.

This is the way a young person rises to power (Haley’s relatively young): repeat over and over what the establishment warmongers and Zionist psychopaths demand to hear. It’s really very simple, a mediocrity like Haley can put herself in the running for president of the United States by being a wind up doll for the military machine while all of her 40-something peers, who see the developing lie and aren’t afraid to speak the truth amid all the obfuscation, deceit and intimidation — work in obscurity, one paycheck from homelessness, fearing car troubles, pondering student loans, looking for discounts on the rack.

In a just world Nikki Haley, Sarah Palin, and Rachel Maddow would be gum-snapping waitresses in some diner, instead of mouth pieces for a war machine driving us toward Armageddon. “What’ll it be hon?” “Do you want fries with your war?”

I remember when Nikki Haley was embraced by much of the MSM as the second Indian American and third non-white Governor, an underdog, who undoubtedly had much of the same racist ideology back then. Identity politics won out and she fits into the neolib, neocon foreign policy almost as well as Hillary. Would not be surprised to see her become President. She is Israel’s best friend and Russia’s enemy, the perfect American politician.
