You Protect Our Independence

From Editor Robert Parry: At Consortiumnews, we’ve never had some billionaire who pays our bills and pulls our strings. From our start in 1995, we’ve relied on readers to support our work and to protect our independence. We also operate on a very tight budget, especially for a daily news operation that plays such a big role in challenging the many misguided groupthinks of Official Washington.

This combination of our own frugality and the generosity of our readers has enabled us to survive more than two decades and to become a burr under the saddle of the Establishment, which prefers nothing more than to deliver its propaganda to the citizenry without question or resistance. But the reason that we are viewed as such a problem is that we challenge the slick propaganda with sound journalism and solid reasoning.

Also, because we know our readers are busy, we limit our special fund appeals to three times a year: early spring, late summer/early fall, and the end of the year. We are now in our spring fund drive and need your help to reach our rather modest $30,000 goal.

You can donate by credit card online (we accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover), by PayPal (our PayPal account is named after our original email address, “consortnew @ aol.com”), or by mailing a check to Consortium for Independent Journalism (CIJ); 2200 Wilson Blvd., Suite 102-231; Arlington VA 22201.

We also are registered with PayPal’s Giving Fund under the name Consortium for Independent Journalism. And, since we are a 501-c-3 non-profit, donations by American taxpayers may be tax-deductible.

Thank you for your support.

Robert Parry

This is fast becoming one of my favorite sites other than my own. When I get back on my feet I will donate.

Why do you require my residential details? If you want a donation fine do you need to know where I live where do you live?

Bob, I always get a lot from your comments. One of my other causes is rescue dogs, although I have had only cats. But in the last few years since the economy got so bad, it appears inhumanity has also, and I have been shocked to see what people have done to countless dogs, particularly in the South. I am grateful to people who are attempting to turn that around by helping these victims. Unfortunately, some people treat their own babies that way. I hope for a brighter day, and I feel that people who read Consortium News and post here are folks who are trying to turn things around.

Mike k and Jessica K, I’m not surprised to see both of you on this page. I donate gladly at each of Robert Parry’s appeals believing this site to be the most consistent source of honest news reporting available. And, both of your contributions add significantly, so thanks to all…

mike k, always good to hear from you, and I was amazed to learn that you are 86, truth seeker! We who are, have to keep the faith that working for a better world is necessary and worth it, regardless of the struggle and outcome. Since the Bush years, the world has taken a big neocon turn for the worse.

I sent a small check for $30 before, my income is fixed and limited, but I will send another $20 this week to help keep Mr. Parry and his journalists active in combatting all the lies bombarding us daily. I was surprised to see that not more had been raised by now.

I don’t get it. What has the above exchange got to do with CN’s fund raising? The amount raised so far seems pitifully small. I am not exactly wealthy; people who live in the woods and shit in a bucket usually aren’t too flush with the green stuff. But I still find I can drop a few clams in the hat.

    ML,

Kerry massively comprised himself when in 2002 he voted to greenlight Bush’s rush toward invading Iraq.

Kerry publicly comprised himself in 2013 when pushing war based on highly dubious evidence.

No need for John Kerry to pull your strings when you’ll dutifully do his bidding, dance to his tune. And all he had to do was share one illicit(ly obtained) letter. To compromise a former hero’s conscience. No better/different than/from the Times & Post. “All the ‘news’ that’s fit to print.”
