Two Books with Robbie Conal Cover Art

From Editor Robert Parry: My friendship with Robbie Conal, the brilliant Los Angeles-based poster artist, goes back to his first poster, depicting a skeleton in a suit on a camouflage backdrop over the words “Contra Cocaine,” which Robbie said was inspired by my early work on the subject.

So, when I was looking for cover art for two of my books, Secrecy & Privilege and Neck Deep, I turned to Robbie and his caricatures of the central characters: George H.W. Bush, Dick Cheney and George W. Bush. Indeed, the title for Neck Deep (co-written with Sam and Nat Parry) fit perfectly with a poster that Robbie had done of George W. Bush neck deep in the New Orleans flood.

Now, as the investigative news Web site, Consortiumnews.com, works to reach its year-end fundraising goal, we are offering the two books plus my latest book America’s Stolen Narrative for only $34, a discount of more than 50 percent.Neck_Deep_Cover_226px

To get the three books and help us meet our budget needs just go to Consortiumnews.com’s “Donate” button and make a $34 “donation” using Visa, Mastercard or Discover. We will read a “donation” of that amount as an order for the trilogy.

If your mailing address is the same as your credit card billing address, we will ship the books to that address. If your mailing address is different, just send us an e-mail at [email protected] and we will make the adjustment. For U.S. orders, we will pay for the shipping. (For non-U.S. orders, add $20 to defray the extra cost.)

You can also take advantage of this special offer by mailing a check for $34 to The Media Consortium; 2200 Wilson Blvd.; Suite 102-231; Arlington VA 22201. Or you can use our Paypal account, “consortnew @ aol.com.” Just make sure you include your mailing address in the message.

Another option — if you wish give the books as holiday gifts — is to get a full box (28 books) of either Secrecy & Privilege or Neck Deep or a box of half and half for only $74. To take advantage of this full-box offer (a $642 value), just follow the same rules as ordering the three-book set, except you must send us an e-mail specifying which book you want, or the half-and-half offer. (For the same price, you also can get a full box, 22 books, of the hard-cover version of Neck Deep.)

We also will pay for the postage for U.S. orders. (Because of the prohibitive costs of international mail, this full-box offer is only possible for the United States.)

Of course, you might just wish to make a tax-deductible donation by credit card online at the Consortiumnews.com Web site or by mailing a check to Consortium for Independent Journalism (CIJ); 2200 Wilson Blvd., Suite 102-231; Arlington VA 22201. (For readers wanting to use PayPal, you can address contributions to our account, which is named after our e-mail address: “consortnew @ aol.com”).

Again, thanks for your support and for making our 18 years of honest journalism possible.

Robert Parry is a longtime investigative reporter who broke many of the Iran-Contra stories for the Associated Press and Newsweek in the 1980s. He founded Consortiumnews.com in 1995 to create an outlet for well-reported journalism that was being squeezed out of an increasingly trivialized U.S. news media.
