Two-Book Offer for Only $19
By
Robert Parry
March 31, 2011 |
We are now offering the two-book set of Secrecy & Privilege and Neck Deep for only $19. (Shipping is free.)
You can make your order:
--By credit card (Mastercard/Visa) by going to the Consortiumnews.com's donation site and putting in a $19 charge. (You can follow up with an e-mail to [email protected] to give us your mailing address, or if that address and the billing address for the credit card are the same, we’ll automatically assume that any $19 “donation” is intended for a book order and ship it there. Non-U.S. orders should add $10 more for extra postage.)
--By PayPal, make a payment to our account which is named after our e-mail address: “[email protected]” (Please include your mailing address in the PayPal message.)
--By check made out to The Media Consortium; Suite 102-231; 2200 Wilson Blvd.; Arlington, VA 22201.
These two books contain important history about the recent era. For instance,
--Secrecy & Privilege by Robert Parry explains how George H.W. Bush rose to power through his service to Richard Nixon during the Watergate scandal; describes Bush's bloody year as chief of the CIA; and exposes his secret effort to undermine President Jimmy Carter’s Iran-hostage talks in 1980.
--Neck Deep by Robert, Sam and Nat Parry takes this remarkable story of the Bush Family's rise forward to George W. Bush seizing the highest office in land with the help of the Right’s powerful propaganda machinery, the systemic failure of the mainstream U.S. news media, and the coup d’etat of Republican political cronies on the U.S. Supreme Court handing Bush the White House.
These solidly reported histories should be part of every library. And you can help by getting a set for yourself, a friend or a public or school library.
We also are trying to whittle down our stockpile of Secrecy & Privilege and Neck Deep, so we can close down our warehouse space as a cost-cutting move. So, we are offering full cartons of the two books -- or a half-and-half mix -- for only $59, postage included for U.S. orders.
A full box contains 28 paperback copies of Secrecy & Privilege or 28 copies of Neck Deep (or you can have us divide the carton into 14 copies of each). You can also request that we substitute a box of 24 hardcover copies on Neck Deep for the same price.
You can then resell the books, or give them away as gifts, or contribute them to your local library’s book sale. Our overriding goal is to make the books available to readers who can benefit from the valuable investigative journalism that fills Secrecy & Privilege and Neck Deep.
If we can't reduce the backlog, we may have to throw out some of these wonderful books in order to close out our warehouse space that costs us $195 a month. (I can fit some in my basement but not all that we have.)
You can take advantage of the full box offer by following one of these steps:
--By credit card (Mastercard/Visa) by going to Consortiumnews.com's donation site and putting in a $59 charge. (You should follow up with an e-mail to [email protected] to tell us your selection and give us your mailing address if its different from the billing address for the credit card.)
Other payment methods:
--By check for $59 made out to The Media Consortium; Suite 102-231; 2200 Wilson Blvd.; Arlington, VA 22201.
--By PayPal, make a payment to our account which is named after our e-mail address: “[email protected]” (Please include your mailing address in the PayPal message.)
(For any non-U.S. orders for a full-box order, we will have to first get an estimate of what the additional shipping costs would be. So, please contact us before placing a non-U.S. order.)
Thanks for your support.
Robert Parry
Robert Parry broke many of the Iran-Contra stories in the 1980s for the Associated Press and Newsweek. He founded Consortiumnews.com in 1995 as the Internet's first investigative magazine. He saw it as a way to combine modern technology and old-fashioned journalism to counter the increasing triviality of the mainstream U.S. news media.
